Souten's foot tapped eagerly on the airport floor. He filtered the scents as he waited for his family to come into his senses. A familiar aura tickled his own. His sly mate was teasing him from across the space. He was pleased when his pack came both into view and into his nose.

His mate raced across the space, practically tackling him in her desire to take in his comfort. She sighed against his chest, before turning up her face to welcome his kiss. " Souten" She purred low in his ear.

"Not yet, love" He growled, displeased. " You know how the pups dislike our PDA as they call it." His pups were close behind, Souta pulling his mother's suitcase behind him. Souten eyed him with approval. His son would grow to be an honorable male.

His mate moved aside as their pups approached, Kagome threw herself at her father.

"Papa!" Came the squeal from his oldest, her head tucking instinctively under his chin, nuzzling in. She made room for her brother's enthusiastic hug as well. Asumi stood, looking on in pride for a moment before she joined the proverbial puppy pile.

Once the greetings were over, Souten collected his family and lead them out to their SUV. Though the flight had been long, they still had a while to drive to get to their family home. Their home was to the north, closer to the giant red wood trees. Souten had built a traditional Japanese home out in the forest. They had plenty of land. It was a welcome retreat from the cities he had to work in. He was excited to have his pack within his den again. He had missed them dearly.

The rest of the day passed swiftly. Once the pups had retired to their rooms, Souten and Asumi retreated to their room. Asumi filled Souten in on what had happened with Inuyasha.

"I told you letting her date was a bad idea!" Souten chastised his mate, "My poor pup, having to deal with the youngest Tashio."

Asumi blew out a breath, " It's not like she's going to have an easier time with the oldest! You know Kimi keeps me up to date on the trouble their oldest is causing!" She punctuated her disgruntlement with a nip. She still wasn't sure that keeping the pups in the dark was for the best, but at least her pups hadn't blown up a school like the Tashio brothers. That incident was the exact reason the council had demanded all pups henceforth be sealed until their majority. Though the Tashio pups knew of their heritage, the Higurashi pups did not. Souten thought it would be best this way. He still taught them yokai etiquette and wove their people's history into their bedtime stories. Asumi sided with her mate. It was good for the pups to grow up human, it would help them empathize with them better later in their lives. Not to mention it gave her pups more of a chance to socialize and make friends with humans.
