Hi all just want to say a massive thank you for all of the support you are giving to this story. I am so glad that you are enjoying it. As always I loved to hear your thoughts.

Beginnings

Jax looked at the door from we he sat on the bed running a hand over his face. Haley had made a sharp exist. And in his mind he thought that she regretted it and he couldn't say he'd blame her if she did.

They had just slept together. He had just taken her virginity. If he felt the weight of what that meant then he was sure she felt it too, but Jax didn't regret it. Looking into her eyes when he was inside her made him feel something that he hadn't felt since Tara.

He had sleep with countless women trying to fill the void he felt since Tara's departure, but it never seemed to work, but then there was Haley. Recently his feelings for her had changed and he tried to deny them, tried to push them away but being with her tonight, being intimate and having her want him back Jax knew that she was what he had been missing. But this wouldn't be easy. There was Sam, her Dad, Gemma and the fact that she was 17. So again, yes Jax understood that Haley was probably freaking out right now.

Getting from the bed he grabbed his bottoms and quickly realised that when Haley made her exist from the room she had grabbed his top. So topless and his jeans hanging low on his hips, he made his way out of her room and across the hall to the bathroom. He wrapped his knuckles against the door.

"Haley." As he spoke he pressed his ear against the door and he was pretty sure he could her crying. "Can I come in?" He pushed feeling slightly worried. He was relieved when he heard her mumble come in.

Opening the door it revealed Haley sat on the lid of the toilet. She was dressed in his t-shirt which he found incredibly sexy but her tear stained face really stole his attention. And it was then that he was reminded just how young she was.

He moved and bent down in front of her so they were eye level.

"Did I hurt you?"

Haley shook her head. Yes this had been her first time but Jax and been gentle, careful with her so she wasn't sat there crying because he hurt her.

"No." She whispered and she saw the relief wash over his face. "I'm a horrible person Jax." And with that more tears came.

"Hey..." Jax cupped her face his thumbs wiping away her tears. "You are not a horrible person." He spoke firmly

"My dad could be dying and what am I doing... I'm here...I've...We've ..." Jax could tell that she was panicking as she was barely able to put a sentence "And she continued to sob. He shifted closer to her.

"Hey...hey...the main focus right now is your Dad okay. Everything else can wait." He watched her nod. "Hales your in control here. Whatever you want to do or whatever you want to happen. Your in control of it you understand"

Haley nodded and with that Jax got to his feet taking Haley's hand and pulling her to feet. He was surprised when she moved and wrapped her arms around him hugging him tightly. He returned the hug taking her in.

He would be true to his words. Whatever Haley wanted to do about what happened tonight then he would respect that, however he did need to get her clubhouse, he needed her to be safe.

"We need to leave for the clubhouse Hales." He felt her nod against him. "Okay I'll let you get ready." Jax spoke as he pulled away from her. "But I'm gonna need that back."

Haley looked down as he pointed to her shirt. Before looking back up at Jax with that smile. Jax had been wanting to see that smile since he entered the bathroom. He returned the smile. He dropped a kiss on her head.

"Where are they." Gemma spat looking at the clock.

"He said they are on their way." Clay replied as he stood in front of his dresser taking his rings off. It had been a long hard day and all he wanted was to lay in bed with his and forget the day, but his wife clearly was had other ideas and right now he wanted to kick his step son ass for ruining his already crappy day.

"It's 1 am Clay." He walked over to his pacing wife and stopped her in her tracks.

"They'll be fine." He placed kisses on her neck but he could tell that she wasn't into it and when she pulled away and mumbled about going to get a drink and Clay watched her walk out and all he could think was damn Jax.

Gemma poured her coffee. Most people had settled down for the night, There were bodies laid out in the bar, sleeping soundly but as she poured her coffee Gemma heard the door to clubhouse open and she moved to the doorway of the kitchen to get a better look and that was when she saw that it was Haley and Jax. Gemma took a slight step back so they couldn't see her.

She watched as Jax's hand moved to her lower back as he guided her through the bodies on the floor. She also watched as Haley looked back at him smiling sweetly. There was something about their interaction with one another that worried Gemma.

When she watched Jax take her hand, which she accepted willingly, Gemma made herself presence known. Both looked shocked and Gemma watched as Haley quickly let go of Jx's hand.

Although her eyes were glued onto her sons, Gemma moved forward and embraced Haley. "Sorry to hear about your Dad sweetheart. He'll be okay."

"Thank you Gemma." Haley responded pulling out of the embrace.

"Come on I'll show you to my dorm."

As Haley and Jax went to walk past her Gemma grabbed her son pulling him into a hug. "We need to talk." She whispered into his ear before he pulled away and continued down the hall to Haley.

As they both entered his dorm Haley spun around and faced Jax "Do you think she knows?"

Jax shook his head. "How could she." Jax wasn't sure he believed his own words right now but Haley had enough to worry about. Jax placed her bag on the bed. When he looked back at her he could see her worry. He moved to stand back in front of her placing his hand on arm in a comforting motion.

"Like I said Hales you're in control here." He watched her nod before continuing. "The bathroom is just through there." He pointed to the other door in the room. "There's some space in the dresser if you want it put your stuff in there. You can take the bed I'll sleep in the bar."

"You don't have to sleep in the bar." Haley spoke as she took a seat on the bed. "You could just easily sleep on the floor in here." Truth was this was the place that her Dad had tried to keep her away from. She had seen how many people, strangers were out there, and even though Jax said that this would be safe place the safe place or rather person for Haley right now was Jax. She could see that he was unsure. "I'm in control right."

Jax smiled. It was going to be hard sharing a room with her right now but he would do anything she asked of him right now. Anything to make her feel safe, comfortable. So he nodded in agreement.

Jax excused himself from Haley as she wanted to change plus he knew Gemma was waiting for him. He walked into the kitchen and wasn't surprised to see his mother still there.

"She okay?" Gemma asked careful watching her sons reaction as he opened the fridge grabbing two bottles of water.

"She's worried about her Dad."

"That what took you so long tonight?" And there it was. Jax slammed the fridge closed. "Opie said you messaged him when you left the Hospital that was 11 Jax. It's past one."

"Jesus Christ Mom." Gemma moved closer and lowered her voice because that thing she was about to ask she didn't want outside ears hearing.

"Are you fucking her."

"MOM." Jax shook his head. This was so typical of Gemma trying to get involved and that was the last thing he needed. And the last thing Haley needed.

"Fine maybe she'll tell me the truth." As Gemma tried to past Jax stopped her by stepping into her path.

"Leave her alone." And it was with that move that Gemma got her answer even without her son confirming.

Gemma turned away from Jax, trying to take in what was happening, her biggest thing was that this, Haley could ruin her two sons and that was her biggest fear. She turned to look back at Jax and she could see that he too was probably having the same thoughts. She moved to stand in front of him/

"Do you understand what you are doing?" Jax avoided his mothers gaze. "She's 17 baby. There's Sam."

"I know." Jax snapped. He knew that trying to lie to Gemma Teller was a lost cause but right now he had to put Haley first "Just leave her alone." Jax spoke before heading back down the hall.

Jax pushed open the door to his dorm, Haley was already laying in his bed. He turned back and locked the door behind him before walking over and placing the bottled waters on the side table beside her.

"Thank you." Haley spoke softly.

Jax could on offer her a smile. He noticed that she had placed some pillows and a blanket at the foot of the bed. Remaining silent Jax started to undress down to boxers he could feel her eyes on him but he didn't look back at her.

He lay down on the floor and pulled the blanket over him.

"You okay?" Haley spoke breaking the silence.

"Yeah. We better sleep I have to be up in a few hours."

"Okay." Haley could sense the change in behaviour but not wanting to push she turned off the beside table light.

Haley tried to stop her cry. She had a dream or rather a nightmare about her dad, he had died. She felt scared and before she thought about it she threw back the covers and made her way to Jax. He was asleep, but Haley pulled back the blanket and lay down beside him as she scooted closer to him. She heard him stir.

"Hey." He voice was horse from sleep. "You okay?"

"What happens if he dies." Jax now fully awake at her words reached out a tucked her hair behind her ear. His thumb rubbing her cheek.

"Your Dad is going to be fine. You really think he is going to leave you her with us." She smiled at him.

Jax knew that he had told her that this would be on her terms but right now all he wanted to do was kiss her but she must have felt the same way because caught his lips with hers.

"Thank you." She spoke softly. "You're always looking out for me."

"I always will."

She allowed him to deepen the kiss her hand coming to rest on his bear chest. "Can I sleep here with you."

"On the floor when there is a bed right there."ff

"Yeah." He let out a chuckle.

"Sure, whatever you want."

Haley smiled and shifted so that her head came to rest on his chest their arms wrapping around each other.

The sun shone through the small window which caused Haley to stir. Her and Jax were face to face, he was still sleeping but just looking at him Haley felt herself smile. He had been a constant in her life and he had always been there to protect her. She membered the time when she was 6 and fell off her bike. Jax had helped her put a band aid on her elbow. She remembered how he always stuck up for her when Sam would tease her. She remembered how he had been the one to come to the streams, comfort her as she broke. She remembered how he was the one that was always there for and it was in was in this moment that she knew that she was in love with Jackson Teller.
