Alright, time for "Hagafuka". To explain the hint, Morgan Robertson wrote a novel called "Futility" in 1898 that was seen by many as predicting the sinking of the Titanic fourteen years later. An author forseeing the future, a very obvious mash-up of the two talents involved.
Before the Climax
Had you told Toko Fukawa that the first man to genuinely mean his declaration of love for her was someone she considered a complete idiot, she ... probably would have been overjoyed, given as it meant that someone could love her.
Her reaction was just that when it happened.
She sat on her bed in her dorm room, looking at the love letter pushed under her door.
She ought to prepare for the final confrontation with Monokuma – but, honestly. she did not expect to be of use there.
It was clear to her that Hagakure tried to insert as much prose as he could get away with in order to impress the author.
He failed utterly in that attempt: his writing was judged clichéd and horrible.
Yet, Fukawa's heart pounded. He must mean those words. As previouslys established, he was literally too dumb to fool anyone.
The letter concluded with him admitting that he just needed to get it out in case they would not make it. If they did, they would never need to talk about it.
She smiled. While she was not interested in cheating on her master, she appreciated the admiration and maybe would talk about it.
As usual, thank you for taking the time to read this double drabble. Tomorrow, we will continue with the next pairing. The hint for that one is Ueki no Hôsoku.
