Kyle

The day had turned out better than anyone thought. The breakfast had been awkward, the only sound was the scrapping of the cutlery against the plates but then all of a sudden Sophie started laughing for no reason and her laugh was so infectious all of a sudden they all just started to laugh with her.

Sophie had been the perfect addition to an old family tradition. They all took turns taking her on the rides she could go on. Sam and Jax had won on the shooting game which meant that Haley and Sophie both gained a unicorn that day.

Gemma had been lovely and Haley actually enjoyed spending the day with her, they even rode the ghost train together, which was interesting when Gemma slapped one of the ghosts in fear. Haley tried to apologise but Gemma stopped her and the both of them ended up in giggles.

But for Haley there was one thing missing and that was her Dad. She wished that he was here.

"You okay?" Jax asked feeling Haley shudder in his hold.

It was night time now and they were all getting ready to watch the fireworks. Sophie was flat out. Clay and Gemma had disappeared. Something about the photo-booth, Jax didn't want anymore information nor did Sam.

A few more of the guys had turned up but they were drunk and now riding the tea cups.

Donna showed up with the kids but she decided to leave before the fireworks. It reminded her of Opie as he normally did the fireworks at local events. Everyone understood especially since the verdict had come in. He got 5 years. Everyone was devastated but no one more so than Donna and Piney. But the club would be there for them, they would take care of their own.

"Yeah, I'm just going to get my jacket before the fireworks starts."

"You want me to come with you?"

"No it's okay. I'll be quick." Haley smiled before taking the keys from Jax. She turned to leave before she was pulled back into his strong arms as he pulled her flush against him. She let out a squeal.

"Miss you already." Haley was sure it was the few beers Jax had had with his brothers but she liked this side of Jax.

"Miss you too." Jax lent down and captured her lips with hers and they exchanged a kiss. It was passionate and if they were alone Haley knew where it would have lead. But they weren't alone so Haley pulled away but Jax kept his face close to hers.

"You sure you want to watch the fireworks?" He quipped and Haley knew the real question.

"We can't miss the fireworks its the best part." Jax was disappointed with the answer until she pressed her lips to his again. "But after the fireworks how about you and I make our fireworks."

"Now Babe that I can do babe."

They exchanged one more kiss before Haley started heading to the where her dads truck was parked.

Haley was in a world of her own as she approached the truck, smiling to herself as she could still feel Jax's lips on hers. She grabbed her jacket off the seat before closing the door too the truck but as she turned around she let out a gasp.

Kyle snorted the cocaine off the mirror his head rolling back on his shoulders as he took a deep breath. He knew he had fucked up, leaving Opie was wrong but he got scared and he knew that the club would kill him for this. But Kyle couldn't lose the club it was everything to him.

He had been waiting to see the outcome, see what Opie was charged with but after missing multiple calls from April he finally listened to one of her voicemails. Opie got 5 years, and in that moment Kyle knew he was fucked.

He knew his brothers would what his patch or worse he could meet Mr Mayhem.

He knew he needed to see April, he needed to explain to someone. Which was how he found himself lurking around Fun Town.

It was dark by the time he got there. He knew from past experience that most of the club would have gone by now, taken the party back to the clubhouse but he knew April would still be there she loved the fireworks.

He watched the crowds start to gather near the display but couldn't see April. There was a spot she always stood. According to his wife it was the best view but she wasn't there, but he did see something else.

Jax and Haley.

They were back together. Officially, and the fact that Sam was standing just feet away from them told him that the Teller brothers had put aside their feud.

Kyle took a swig from his flask when he saw Haley kiss Jax before walking away. Jax wasn't following her and before he could even think about it his feet quickly moved him in the direction she was heading towards.

"Kyle..." Haley's heart was pounding in her chest. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and as their eyes met she could tell that he was high. And suddenly felt very vulnerable. There was no one around as everyone had gathered to watch the fireworks. She was alone.

"Haley,...I need your help."

"Kyle I don..."

"Remember the time I let you off the lot, during the lockdown." He moved closer causing Haley to step back, her back now flush against the truck. There was nowhere to go. "I knew Jax hadn't called you there was no way he would let you go out alone. I did you a favour I covered for you."

"Look kyle I don't know what is going on here but you need to speak to Jax okay." Haley went to leave but Kyle slammed his hand against the truck blocking her path, the action causing her to jump back in fear.

Kyle could see her shaking. When he had let her out that day during the lockdown he could sense that she was nervous but she was never scared, not the whole time she was there at the clubhouse. So seeing her now led him to believe only one thing. She knew. The Prince of Charming had obviously made her privy to the club business.

"What they are saying I did, I didn't do it I didn't bail. I mean yeah I drove off." Kyle stumbled causing his body to become almost flush against hers. Haley tried to calm herself. "I had the AK-9s in the trunk, I got caught the whole club would be going down."

"I um...why don't you tell Clay that. Sounds...sounds...like you did the right thing." Haley answered her voice breaking in fear.

"You think?" Haley nodded.

"Yeah I mean you...you did what you thought was right."

"Exactly." Kyle slammed his hand against the truck again and again this caused Haley to jump as she fought back a cry. Kyle noticed this. "Hey." His hand came up and cupped her face forcing her to look at him. "You could talk to Jax."

Haley just nodded as she didn't know what to say, what to do she was panicking.

"Yeah?"

"Yes." Happy with her answer Kyle smiled his hands running over his shaved head. He looked happy, relieved. But it also meant Haley was free and without over thinking it Haley ran but her quick exit caught Kyles attention.

Haley only made it to the back of the trunk before she felt a hand on her arm pulling her back. Her scream was muffled by the bang of the firework.

Jax watched the firework fly into the sky before exploding into a rainbow of colours. He heard a laugh and looked over to his brother. Sophie who was now awake looked in awe of the show in the sky. He smiled to himself.

"Where's Hales?" Sam asked noticing she wasn't there. He watched Jax look over his shoulder towards the parking lot. She had been a while and the fire works were starting

"Went to get her jacket. I'm gonna check on her okay. Stay here."

Sam nodded and returned his attention back to the fireworks, tickling Sophie as he shifted her on his hip.

"Where's he going?" Sam turned to his side as Clay and Gemma approached.

"Gone to get Haley. She wanted her jacket."

Clay just nodded to Sam's answer and wrapped his arm around Gemma pulling her close as they all watched the fireworks display. All oblivious to the drama unfolding behind them

"Shit...Ah shit..."

When Kyle tried to pull her back Haley tried to pull away which caused her to slip and in his current state Kyle let go of her which meant Haley hit the ground hard.

"It's okay." Haley tried to reason as she tried to get back to her feet.

"Your bleeding."

"What?" Haley looked to arm where Kyle was pointing. She must have scraped it on the gravel but as she followed the trickle of blood down her arm she saw a gash on her hand. Haley's heart was racing this was getting out of control. She needed to get away from him and when Kyle went to reach for her Haley scrambled away from as she screamed for him to leave her alone.

Jax was just making his way towards the truck when he heard a scream. Running the rest of the way he stopped when he saw Haley on the floor her back against the truck as Kyle leared over her.

The anger was instant.

Jax lunged at Kyle knocking him to the floor before he delivered the first punch followed by a quick second and a third. That was when he heard her call his name. Looking over his shoulder as he straddled Kyle he could see her shaking as she sat on the floor. He looked back to Kyle. He was out cold.

Getting off of Kyle Jax went to her his hand cupping her face.

"You okay?" Haley just nodded

"What did he do to you?" Jax grabbed her hand that was bleeding, it was all over her white dress.

"He, he grabbed me I tried to get away and fell." Jax looked down at her hand. He could see glass.

"Hales I need to you to listen to me okay." Haley just nodded. "Go back to Sammy okay. Find my Mom and Clay." Haley nodded. "Tell Sam and Clay to come here. You Gemma and Sophie go home." Haley nodded again and Jax wanted to Kyle for making her feel this scared.

Jax helped her to her feet. He watched her eyes go to Kyle before returning to his.

"Is he..."

"He's fine." He cupped her cheek with his hand gaining her full attention. "Are you sure you're okay?" Again Haley just nodded. "Go." And with that Haley disappeared.

As she ran down the hill she saw Sam but he wasn't alone Clay and Gemma were there she was thankful for that. Trying to cover herself with her jacket so people wouldn't see she was bleeding Haley moved deeper into the crowd.

Before she could reach him Sam looked over his shoulder and she knew that he spotted her. She watched as he quickly handed Sophie to Gemma before both he Clay rushed towards her.

"Shit." Gemma spoke as she turned to see where they were going. The blood on Haley's dress didn't go unnoticed to Gemma.

"You okay?" Sam asked as he reached her. She was shaking. He placed his hands on either side of her arms. "What happened, was this Jax..."

"No..." Haley was shocked by the question.

"Sweetheart." Pulling her attention away Haley looked to Clay. She tried to remember Jax's words.

"Jax wants you both to um..." Haley looked back at where she had just come from. "He needs you. My truck."

"Hales, you're not making any sense." Sam spoke causing her to look back at him.

"It's Kyle, he approached me. Jax is there. He said..."

"We've got it sweetheart." Clay spoke moving closer to her. "You go to Gemma tell her what's happening. And you go home with her." Haley nodded and with that Clay and Sam headed towards her truck.

They were all gathered around the table the prospect keeping eyes on Kyle who was now awake holding an ice pack to his face. After being dragged back to the clubhouse he told them everything. Tried to explain why he ran, he hoped that it was enough because he knew what was happening behind those closed doors.

"We have a vote to make." Clay spoke from his chair. "We've heard his story. As president of this club I action to remove the Mayhem vote off the table."

"He abandoned my son!" Piney bellowed from the other end of the table. Clay nodded understanding his anger. He also took the opportunity to look at his other brothers. They too didn't look impressed. And he could feel the rage coming from his VP but Clay knew that a lot of that rage right now was because of Haley.

"That's why I propose we vote to excommunicate." This caused Piney to scoff in disgust. "I get the anger brother I do but Kyle did protect our guns. He got caught with a trunk full of our Aks we all go down."

"My son is behind bars because of him."

"Which is why I vote to excommunicate." Clay reiterated. "The club is everything to him we take that away it's as good as dead." Clay could hear his own anger now. So again he looked around the table. "Let's vote."

Gemma pulled the covers over Sophie before placing a delicate kiss on her forehead.

Gently closing the door behind her Gemma made her way down the hall she stopped before entering. Haley was sat at the table a cup of tea in front of her.

She had been quiet on the way home and with Sophie in the car Gemma never pushed for her to talk but now they were alone Gemma needed to talk to her.

This was it. The moment. Up until now she had been protected from the club but tonight had changed that. This would be the test. Clay wanted her to accept Haley but for her to do that Haley needed to accept the club. The good the bad and the ugly.

"How you doing sweetheart?" Gemma spoke as she walked into the room.

"I'm okay." Haley spoke but no one could believe that answer.

"Tonight must have been scary huh." Gemma stated taking a seat beside her. "Jax told you about the club didn't he."

"Yes." Haley whispered.

"You love my son." It didn't go unnoticed that Gemma never said his name. "You'll learn to love the club."

"Is it always like this?"

Gemma thought about the question before answering. "It can be sweetheart. But you've done the hardest part."

"What do you mean?"

"When your man goes on the inside." This was the first time Gemma had spoken about Jax being in prison with Haley. "That's the true test. And look where you are, your here. Your with Jax Just where you wanted to be right?"

Haley nodded, all she wanted was to be with Jax.

"It's okay to take a minute sweetheart but Jax needs you." Gemma reached into her bag and pulled out her keys placing them infront of Haley. "Go. Go to the clubhouse."

"But..."

"You want to be in Jax's life. Our role is to be there always. Be strong for our men, because they are always there for us. They protect us."

Haley's mind flashed back to Jax as he straddled Kyle throwing punch after punch. Haley still didn't like the violence but there was something about what Gemma was saying that made sense plus she wanted Jax.

Haley reached out and took the keys. "Thanks Gemma."

Haley pulled Gemma's car into T/M. She saw the row of bikes but she couldn't see anyone. Nervously Haley started to walk to the clubhouse. She had never been in the clubhouse without Jax or Sam.

Opening the door she could hear the low hum of music and the smell of smoke but again it was empty or she thought.

Walking further into the room she wrapped her arms around herself. She looked at the double doors infront of her. She stood there for a moment just staring until she jumped at a voice behind her. Her hand going to her chest she turned to see a guy behind the bar.

"Can I help you?" He asked.

"I'm just looking for Jax."

"Your Haley right?" Haley nodded. "I'm Billy." He saw her confusion. "The new prospect." Haley just nodded again. "They might be a while. You could wait in his dorm."

"Okay. Thank you."

Billy watched her disappear down the hall. Everyone was right she was pretty.

The vote was in Kyle was excommunicated. He tried to plead his case but there was no way any of them could share the patch with him. In Jax's mind he was just lucky that the mayhem vote wasn't on the table.

Tonight Jax had wanted to kill him and his anger still hadn't eased. He needed to relax so he headed to the bar where Billy was pouring the shots. He took one and quickly motioned for a second.

"She's in your dorm." Jax frowned at Billy's words. "Your girl."

"Haley's here?" It was Sam who asked the question after hearing Billy's words.

"Got here about 40 mins ago." Billy looked between the two brothers. He's heard the stories about the girl and the Tellers. It wasn't his business but he felt really awkward right now.

"I've got her." Jax spared a look at Sam before disappearing down the hall.

"You okay son?" Sam turned to look at Clay.

"Yeah." He spoke before picking up a shot and downing it. "I'm gonna head out see my kid."

Sam hugged all of this brothers before leaving the clubhouse. After today Sam just couldn't pretend to be okay with Jax and Haley so he knew he had to leave.

Opening the door to his room Jax suddenly stopped. Haley was lying on his bed her eyes closed. She look so peaceful, so beautiful and he didn't realise until he saw her just how much he needed her here today.

Closing the door behind him he toed off his sneakers and removed his Kutte. Gently he lay down beside her but as careful as he tried to be her eyes slowly drifted open.

"Hey you." She spoke hoarsely.

"Hey darlin'. What you doing here?"

"Wanted to see if you were okay."

"I'm all good babe." He reached out and moved a piece of hair from her face. "You okay?" She nodded and he could sense that she wasn't but just as eventful as the day had been for him, he knew today had been the same for and he had hurt her. Kyle lay hands on her and it was with that thought he felt the anger rage inside him again. And as if she could sense it her hand came to rest on the side of his face.

"I'm okay." She lent in and kissed him. It was soft, gentle almost. "Do you want to talk about it?" She whispered against his lips.

"Tomorrow. Right now I just need you."

And with that Jax kissed her a kiss she returned as she lay on her back opening herself to him. All Jax could think was how much he loved his Old Lady.
