There is a series of books called The Coven Series written by Chandelle LaVaun they are not good at all, and if I was a young reader I would find her over hormonal, unfocused vision of teenagers highly insulting. You would think a book about magic and witches and Covens would be good, great even, but this author single handedly rips that to shreds. There is something threatening the world WITH a time limit, and the main characters are too busy hungering over each other to focus long enough to solve riddles needed for their quests. She calls this them being soulmates, but in reality, it is more like lust-mates. One of the main characters just discovers she is apart of this coven and a magic user, and it is like poof she knows what she is doing with little to no training. She also discovers she has a twin sister, who was first was supposed to be a step-sister, that of course she does not recognize as her twin AT ALL. In the realm of this coven witches are not humans, they call humans "Sapiens", so yea let's dehumanize witches, but mention the trouble started back in Salem. In this coven called the Tarot Coven each member is chosen by the Goddess and assigned the roman numeral associated with their card; it gets branded on to them, and they train with their associated elemental power. Now three members are more powerful then the others, one is the Leader a male(because you know women need to be led my a dude) has three powers associated with the elements, the other main character his lust mate has ALL the elements to wield, and the third most powerful member has one power(and it is not particularly an element more like a byproduct of three elements). Add in the annoying fact that there is no mention of the other card members but in little cameos or for dialog, AND even when characters die it like a little bit of sadness, then lust lust lust, teen angst amplified unbelievable, and then a reminder of the sadness before heading back to lust….and oh yea the QUEST thing. See how janky this all is? I am currently reading through them….if anything just to finish them since I started it.(yes I will finish reading what I started even if it is terrible, it is who I am)
DISCLAIMER: ANYWAY I don't own these characters of the books and will mostly be mentioning them in passing./p
