The Tale of Queen Guenivere

Come lords and ladies

Near and far

Come gather 'neath

This sky of stars

Come, and harken

Come, and hear

The tale of

Queen Guenivere

Twas one fine day

So long ago

The land was covered

In ice and snow

Twas the fine rule

Of Arthur, the king

The land it lacked

Only one thing

It needed a ruler

A wife

A queen

On the day of their marrige

It twas to be grand

Their faces aglow

Walking hand in hand

So in love was

Arthur, said he

While he was down

On bended knee

"Guenivere, my love,

today is the day.

Before we are wed

This is what I must say"

"I love you more

crown or wealth.

I love you more

than life itself!

"My dear Ginny,

how can I tell

that I feel in my heart,

that not all is well?"

What he felt in his heart

Was love without bounds

Twas in her heart as well

But not for him found

Guenivere did not love

Arthur, the king

Her love for another

Would be their undoing

Though she tried to hide it

And become a true queen

This love was unyielding

And in that plainly seen

Her love was the one

Called Lancelot

Her heart filled with love

For Arthur was not

They had met on a

Midsummer's moon filled night

And between them

Love was always alight

Now that true love was

a fire without flame

no person on earth

could that fire tame

The love was true

And pure, and clean

But Arthur knew not

What he had forseen

This love was a burden

A precious one though

Twas found in a land

'neath ice and snow
