(A/N: Please take a minute to review! This was supposed to be a drabble…but it kinda turned out to be an extra large drabble? "This is talking" and 'this is thinking.' Wow, this is a silly little thing.)

Disadvantage

Looking up from the book in her lap, Hermione Granger turned slowly to her boyfriend before declaring, "When we get married, I think you should take my last name instead." Draco turned from his place on the couch to face his girlfriend, making sure that she would catch the look of shock and horror written on his face.

"What?" Hermione asked innocently. "Honestly Draco, the look of shock and horror just doesn't suit you. And besides," Hermione went on, ignoring the glare that Draco was shooting her, "Hermione Malfoy sounds…so…unnatural." She finished with a grimace on her face.

"Oh, and Draco Granger doesn't?" He countered. Hermione paused and look thoughtful for a moment. "No, I suppose that's not much better." She admitted slowly. "But you're at a disadvantage now, because I called it first." Hermione reached out to console him by patting his arm. "Right then. And I suggest you propose soon, lest I beat you to it as well. And I know you'll be whining about that for ages to come." Hermione flashed a deceptively innocent smile before turning back to her book.

Draco could only sit in stunned silence. Unfortunately for him, (or fortunately, considering his current frame of mind), he hadn't heard the last bit of the conversation, and had completely missed the very, very big hint regarding a marriage – HIS marriage – in the near future. His brain was still reeling from the first part of their exchange, wheels turning inside his head as he tried to make sense of what had just happened.

'Draco….Granger?'

Draco looked over to his girlfriend, and realized he was in for a long, long ride. The crazy part is, he didn't really seem to mind.

Draco's smile dropped from his face when delayed reaction kicked in and he registered, with unadulterated horror, at how the conversation had ended.

'Wait…wait, did she say….marriage?'

Fini.
