Chapter 5: January 21st

Marluxia nuzzled Saïx, who smiled.

"Hello, Marluxia."

"Hello, Saïx," Marluxia sang.

"And how are you today?" Saïx sang back.

"I'm alright. I just woke up, as I usually do at night when left to my own devices."

"I see," Saïx purred. "I just finished all my paperwork for the night."

Marluxia quickly ran a hand through Saïx's hair to smooth it down. "Mm, yes, paperwork," he said vaguely.

Saïx chuckled as his hair rose back up. "Your attempts to tame my hair are failing~"

Marluxia chuckled. "Well, you make it look good."

Saïx smirked. "Not as well as you pull off pink~"

"We're just a couple of adorable cotton-candy-heads, aren't we?" Marluxia asked fondly.

Saïx pulled Marluxia into his lap. "Agreed~"

Marluxia leaned into Saïx. "Mmmm… you even smell like cotton candy," he noted.

Saïx ran his fingers through Marluxia's hair. "Wonder if I taste like it too?"

Marluxia flushed slightly. "I wouldn't know."

Saïx kissed him softly. "Do you wanna know?"

Marluxia kissed him back. "I… mmmm, you do taste nice."

"You taste lovely yourself," Saïx purred.

Marluxia smiled, loving that sexy little purr. "Thank you."

"You're welcome, my beautiful flower." Saïx kissed his neck.

Marluxia brushed his hair aside to give Saïx better access to his neck. "Mmm, if I'm a flower, what are you?" he murmured.

Saïx looked up slightly. "Hmm? Anything you like, you pick~"

"It's just that there aren't really a lot of choices when it comes to your name and abilities. 'My little Berserker' doesn't really have the right ring to it."

"True, but you don't have to think of it now. Take all the time you need~"

"Alright." Marluxia nestled into Saïx, enjoying being close to him.

Saïx smiled as he gently stroked Marluxia's face with the back of his hand, holding him close. "I love you~"

Marluxia pressed his forearms to Saïx's chest, cuddling. "I love you too, even if it's impossible for Nobodies to love."

"We have till March, so I'm gonna enjoy every single moment of this impossible."

Marluxia nodded, considering this. "Part of the evil of having a heart," he said, "is feeling everything, not just the good things. I'm still trying to get past rage and depression. But I'm glad I have you. I'm much less lonely now."

"I think our renewing emotions are too overrated, but I'm glad to have you as well~"

"Well, you did want a heart pretty badly, if I recall correctly," Marluxia noted. "As for me, I got drunk and bought mine. It's my cross to bear."

"Yes, but I wasn't thinking about all the stuff we had to go through again," Saïx countered.

"I was…" Marluxia paused, trying to find the words. "Semi-prepared. Due to Luxord's awesome time warp abilities, I've been able to interact with Lumaria… and, well, everything she experiences, I do too, retroactively. I remember how she felt, what she was thinking—actually, all the senses. It's not always pleasant."

Before they could continue this conversation, however, it was time to get back to work.
