Nica Pierce glanced over at Junior Wheeler who had been staring out the window of their kinda stolen car for the last hour. They had no real destination in mind. Junior had wanted to go "Somewhere warm with a beach." Nica had just wanted to go somewhere far away from any memories of Chucky. For either of them.
Nica knew that Junior didn't have any regrets about killing his father and that worried her a little. He wasn't Charles Lee Ray. He might have had the capacity to kill in anger but he wasn't a complete psychopath. He didn't kill Jake when given the chance to and he didn't kill Andy. He wasn't a good guy but he wasn't a bad guy either.
Jake, Devon and Lexy had taken off with Kyle and Andy to chase after the remaining Chucky dolls. Nica had no idea what Tiffany was up to but then she had always been the wild card in the whole thing anyway. Nica half expected Tiffany to already be at the first motel they finally decided to stop at. Nica wasn't sure she would be too offended if she was…except that there would more then likely be a dead body on the floor and a man tied naked to a chair.
"We should stop soon." Nica said to the boy sitting next to her."
"Yeah, ok". Junior nodded "Do you think they found the bodies yet?"
Nica knew Junior was talking mostly about his father but the last battle with Chucky had dropped a couple of bodies before they had finally got the Chucky that was possessing her out of her into another Chucky doll that they had also killed. Before they had all taken off they made sure that there was enough evidence to pin the latest crime spree on Nica. Everyone had objected when Nica had come up with the idea but she was already on the hook for five murders what was another dozen or so? It was not like they could tell the truth. It was not like anyone ever actually believed the truth so they might as well use the lie to their advantage.
Junior didn't want to stay in town and he didn't want to go with Jake and Lexy so he jumped into a car with the wanted fugitive Nica Pierce. They made a strange pair. But they were both happy for the company even if so far it had been mostly silent.
"I am thinking California. We could both use a nice cross country trip. We can figure out what to do about new identities and then find a place on the beach and enroll you in school." Nica paused. "but first we need to find a motel that takes cash. I am getting tired and you are too young to drive"
"I am old enough to kill people but not old enough to drive a car." Junior grumbled,
Nica smiled realizing that Junior's attempt at an inappropriate joke was his way of saying he was at least at a better place. They pulled over a few miles later at a motel that could have been run by Norman Bates and Nica realized that anyone else would have been scared the shit off. But the two of them who were being stalked by a possessed killer doll were perfectly cool with it. Junior just huffed and grabbed a sharp object that Nica didn't know he had.
The room was suitably creepy and the two of them were seriously considering leaving and just sleeping in their car onside the highway when there was a knock. Nica rolled her chair to the door and was only slightly surprised to see Tiffany on the other end who pushed passed her, "I thought the two of you would be hungry. I made my famous Swedish's meatballs."
"What are you doing here Tiff?" Nica was briefly surprised she already had a pet name for Tiffany.
"I told you Nica". Tiffany bent down and kissed Nica seductively "I like you better."
Junior just grumbled something about the two of them getting a room and him not sleeping in the car.
