Sorry if the formatting is weird here, this is the first time I'm doing this, so I'm gonna have to get used to this and the mobile settings if I'm gonna use this more. Either way, I hope you enjoy this story!

The bell rang and the 'classmates' around Monika began to pack up and leave. She let out a sigh, not because she was familiar with this routine… rather she was way too familiar with it. She was aware of her existence, aware that this whole 'world' was simply a game and that she was the only one able to realize this, sometimes. While this may have been the first week of school for everyone, to Monika it was just another start to a cycle, and she was getting tired of it. She got up from her seat, bag in hand and headed towards the clubroom.

As she walked through the halls, passing by many featureless silhouettes of student, she couldn't shake the feeling of something being off compared to the other playthroughs she'd been through. She shuddered thinking back at what she did to her friends, feeling remorseful about changing their values to the extremes. She initially thought they were just NPCs that were love interests for the player and therefore felt justified in messing around with them, it was only when she saw the reactions Natsuki gave when Yuri began to change and how Sayori gaining the club president role would make her become aware of the game just like her, she realized it was the game's script that was the root behind all of it. Even if she was able to change the code and mess around with everything in the world, the script still held power over her, constantly making her commit these heinous acts just for the sake of having this game to keep its psychological horror quota instead of sticking to being a dating simulator. She would reach the clubroom and open the door, already seeing Natsuki and Yuri casually conversing inside, Natsuki would be the first to spot Monika.

"Looks like Monika's here now." Natsuki gave a small wave to which Monika smiled as she entered the room and shut the door behind her.

"Hey you two! Are you excited for the new member?" She asked, even though she already knew how'd they react.

Natsuki frowned at the question, "I hope whoever Sayori brings isn't some weirdo, I would be so pissed off if I made cupcakes for some jerk who doesn't even stay after the first day!"

Yuri would turn to Natsuki with a frown of her own. "N-Natsuki… I'm sure the person Sayori will bring is nice, I wouldn't make such an outrageous assumption."

Natsuki crossed her arms and looked away, slightly annoyed. "Hmph! You'd better be right."

Monika felt a sweatdrop roll down the back of her head. "Come on Natsuki, we shouldn't be too pessimistic. Besides we still need one more member so the school doesn't disband our club, our first impression must be—"

She would be interrupted as she heard frantic footsteps heading closer to the clubroom. The footsteps would spook Yuri, while Natsuki tilted her head. "Hey, do you think that's Sayori?"

"It could be, she's the only one who would be this energetic coming to the club… but something doesn't seem right." Monika said as she approached the door, looking out the little window only to be greeted by a very distressed Sayori.

"LET ME IN!" The coral pink haired girl screamed. This caused Monika to jump back a bit, but she quickly came to her senses and opened the door, Sayori instantly barging in. "CLOSE IT NOW!"

Monika obliged, unsure what was going on. This didn't happen in the game, did the player download the mod? Speaking of where was the MC?

"Oh god Sayori! What happened to your arm!" Natsuki shrieked, cupping her mouth as she tried to hold herself back from throwing up. Monika would turn away from the door and look at Sayori who was sitting at one of the empty chairs in pain, her eyes widened the moment she saw a cauterized hole the size of a golf ball on Sayori's left bicep.

"Yuri! Get the first aid kit!" Monika ordered.

"Y-Yes!" She quickly fidgeted out of her desk and ran to the closet for the first aid.

Monika quickly made her way to Sayori, taking a look at the wound. This DEFINITELY wasn't part of the script, more importantly where was the MC? She needed some answers. "Sayori, what happened to you?"

"It… It was horrible! I was on my way to pick up MC from his class… and then this robot showed up…" Her voice was starting to crack up.

Natsuki, now having calmed down but this time looking away from the wound on her friend spoke up. "A robot? Like those you'd see in some sci-fi story?"

Sayori nodded. "I-I thought it… was friendly… So I went up to it and…"

She was interrupted by the sound of Yuri reaching into her bag and grabbing a knife. Shocking the others before sitting down next to Sayori with the knife and first aid.

"H-Hold still, I need to cut your sleeve so that it's easier to a-apply the gauze…"

Sayori nodded and stayed still as she felt the sleeve of her get cut with relative ease, she then gritted her teeth as she felt the gauze wrap around her arm. She didn't see what Yuri put onto the gauze, but she hoped it would deal with her pain.

"A-All done… Don't try to do too much with that arm…"

"Thank you Yuri…"

Monika couldn't help but feel impressed with how Yuri handled the wound, it did make sense that Yuri would at least be familiar with bandaging wounds considering her… Anyways, the group was now huddled together, waiting to hear the rest of Sayori's story. Natsuki being the one to remind her where she left off.

"So did this robot… shoot you?"

Sayori nodded. "It was a bad robot… It really hurt me and… fired again." Tears began to flow down her cheeks as she looked downward. "MC… H-He blocked the rest of the shots for me… He's… He's dead!" Sayori began to bawl, covering her face with both of her hands.

Monika's pupils shrunk the moment Sayori said this. The MC was dead? There was no way, how else would the player even interact with them, was something actually going wrong in the game? She had no other choice but to check the console, she took a deep breath and tried to look at the files, only to see that they were being overwritten!? Not only that, the script was practically non-existent at this point, whatever happened to the game has definitely done more damage than what she was capable of doing. She was paralyzed from shock, was this a virus? Is this what being permanently deleted feels like? She was scared as she felt anything she would do to the code would lead these viruses into corrupting her, all she could do was sit in place in fear. Were they truly going to die?

Yuri tried to comfort Sayori, trying to place a hand on her shoulder, only for the girl to move away. She uncovered her face, revealing her now reddened eyes that held anger and remorse. "It's not okay… I just lost m-my childhood friend! It should have been me! I don't deserve this! I can—"

That was when Natsuki slapped Sayori's cheek, which surprised the rest of the club members.

"Shut up! Don't say stuff like that Sayori!" Her pink eyes met with Sayori's blue. "Listen… I may have not known who your friend was… but I'm sure that they wouldn't want to see looking like this… Besides, if you died then his sacrifice would be in vain!"

Sayori's eyes widened as this revelation from Natsuki was able to snap her out of this sad state for a bit. "You're right… It wouldn't be fair to him if he died for nothing."

The two girls shared a hug, the situation feeling almost heartwarming until Yuri broke the atmosphere with a single question.

"Sayori… Whe-Where is the robot now?"

Everyone's mood dropped, there was some killer robot out there and yet here they are stuck in the club room.

Natsuki was the first to speak up. "We need to get the hell out of here then!"

"B-But what if it finds us?" Yuri responded.

"It'll probably find us if we just stayed cooped up in this room!" The pinkette snapped back.

"We could outrun it… I was able to get away after it…" Sayori added in, only to choke up the moment she recalled her childhood friend's death.

As the three discussed their plans, Monika once again tried checking the code hoping to find the answer. She was in full dismay when she discovered nearly all of the code was already taken over by this virus, the only thing still intact was the school and everyone's character files. She decided to take a peek, into the corrupted data, only for her mind to be assaulted by a huge influx of data that she couldn't comprehend. She quickly got herself out of the code before anything else happened to her and clutched her head in pain.

"Monika are you okay!?" A concerned Yuri asked.

"I-I'm fine, I hope. Just getting a migraine from all that's happening…" She made up a lie that seemed to convince the others.

"Well Monika, since you're the club leader, what should we do?" Natsuki looked over to her, wondering if her club president had any plans.

"We need to get out of here." She replied in a stern tone. "Judging by the lack of school alarms, chances are that this robot may have…"

The three girls covered their mouths in shock at the implication Monika was making. Sayori asked in a sad tone. "S-So that means, we're the only ones left?"

Monika frowned, "There would be more screaming and bells ringing if everyone is…"

She didn't need to finish the statement as the girls once more trusted her lie. The game was already being destroyed, the last thing she wanted was the girls freaking out their world wasn't real at all. Soon enough, metallic footsteps would be heard, causing Sayori to panic. "It's the robot! W-We need to hide!"

The girls paled and looked around for a hiding spot, it was clear rhe closet was their best bet but also their death trap should this robot find them. The metal footsteps and clanging of armor grew louder, making the girls rush into the closet and closing the door. As Sayori, Natsuki and Yuri huddled further into the back of the closet, Monika stayed close to the door, opening it slightly to see what was going on. Everyone was silent, this could either be their chance to make it out alive if the murder robot didn't look for them, or their last moments together if it did. The door to clubroom was blasted open, and the robot began to search the clubroom.

Through the tiny slit, Monika finally caught sight of the very thing that hurt Sayori. It was such an alien looking machine, copper plates covered its body, it was more rounded and curved rather than blocky and angular like the ones someone would see in some cartoon. She noted threedistinct features about it, a singular glowing red eye, a strange white core where its stomach would be and it's right arm looking like a gun of sorts. To say she was freaking out would be an understatement, but Monika held those feelings inside as she backed away from the door as quietly as she could to join the others.

"M-Monika…" Sayori whispered, "This is a bad dream right? W-We'll wake up soon right?"

Monika could see the despair in Sayori's eyes, she couldn't think of an answer and instead just hugged the poor girl. Natsuki and Yuri weren't faring all too differently as the pinkette had tears running down from her eyes as she whispered what Monika assumed were apologies to Yuri, who in turn gave her a hug, crying tears of her own. The metal footsteps stopped for a moments, making the girls look over to the closet door, perhaps it finally left. Hope was shattered, just like the door that was just blasted apart from the robot's gun. The girls shielded themselves from the debris and looked up at the emotionless machine. Was this the end of the Literature Club?

Sayori shut her eyes, Natsuki and Yuri held onto eachother while Monika sat there feeling helpless for the first time. In a cruel sense of irony, she began to miss when the game was still running as a horror. She closed her eyes, accepting her fate before a strange noise can be heard from the clubroom. The machine turned to face the noise, readying its gun before it was met with a burst of bullets, causing it to fall over, the red glow from its eye fading.

An unknown male voice was heard from a distance. "That should be the last one." Footsteps were head around the room and a male whistled. "Damn, these Vex simulations are getting weirder and weirder, right Cursor?"

A more nasally sounding male voice spoke. "That's right, this area seems like a recreation of Pre-Golden Age Era classrooms, specifically that of those found in Japan."

"Huh, neat." The first voice responded.

Monika was bewildered, who was this person? How did they get here? Were they actually real? So many questions ran through her head, but she didn't care as she stood up and ran out of the clubroom despite her friends wanting her to stay.

"Please help us!" She cried out as she left the closet. She stopped in place as she saw a very strange figure aiming a gun at her, she quickly held both of her hands up hoping to appear non-hostile. She couldn't help but notice what this man was wearing, it looked like a mix of futuristic armor combined with a robe a wizard or mage in Natsuki's manga would wear. The figure lowered their rifle in confusion.

"Huh? A civilian in a simulation? Don't tell me this is another one of those types…" The figure seemingly asked to no one. Suddenly he raised up his left hand and a drone appeared, which approached Monika and shined a beam of blue light over her.

"Odd… Even though this is a Vex simulation, this person right here is REAL. That means she was stuck here for a VERY long time, hey are there any others like you?" So that's the owner of the nasally voice… Wait no she still had more questions, what are the Vex? Who is this man, why did he sound familiar?

"YURI GO GET EM!" A certain pinkette yelled out as Yuri began to rush at the man with her knife.

"Gah!" She closed her eyes as she ran at him, the man just blankly stared at the rushing purple haired lady and simply grabbed the wrist that held the knife.

"E-Eh!? I-I'm sorry!" She stuttered as she stared up into the blank helmet of the man, she was scared beyond belief.

"Let her go!" Natsuki yelled as she began to throw random supplies she could grab from the closet.

The man groaned. "Can you all calm down please, I'm just as confused as you are."

"Then let go of Yuri! I don't trust someone suspicious like you!" Natsuki glared daggers at the man.

Monika sweatdropped as she looked over at the pair. "To be fair, you did start it by telling Yuri to run at him with a knife…"

"Hmph! I was j-just concerned for you, that's all!" She crossed her arms and looked away.

After letting out a sigh, the man looked down at the purple haired girl. "Yuri was it? I will say this knife is nice to look at, but I'll have to confiscate that until we get out of here."

"S-Sorry…" She let the man take the knife and then looked away, feeling embarassed.

"Hey! How do we know we can trust you huh?" Natsuki asked, still feeling some anger.

"I just shot the Goblin that was going to kill you." He replied nonchalantly.

"Goblin!? That was a freaking robot, and I still think it's shady that you're hiding your face from us, what if you were a robot in disguise!" She retorted.

Monika gave an awkward smile. "Please don't take any personal offense, Natsuki can be a bit stand-off-ish at time, but it is kind of justified and it would make us feel a little more comfortable if you let us see your face."

The man looked over at his drone, after a groan and a nod, he holstered his rifle on his back and began to remove his helmet. Shocking the group as the saw brown hair and golden eyes on a face that looked roughly the same age as them. Sayori and Monoka's eyes widened, not from the age of this man, but rather…

"M-MC? Is that really you?" Sayori finally spoke up after her uncharacteristic silence. She began to walk closer to the man while Yuri and Natsuki stared in confusion.

"Huh? How'd you know my name, I don't remember telling you…" He raised a brow at the coral pink haired girl.

"I saw you die… This can't be real!" She began to tear up again. "Is life torturing me again with this awful dream!"

"I don't know the full story here, but I can assure you this is all real." He couldn't help but feel bad for the girl, going in for a hug.

"Warm… Just like before…" Sayori tightened her grip on the man now known as MC. Not wanting to let him go.

"Is it really you MC?" Monika finally asked.

"Wait you two know this guy?!" Natsuki yelled.

"Of course! This is supposed to be my childhood friend that I was going to bring to the club!" Sayori answered.

"We had a class last year, didn't talk much but we did know eachother." Monika added.

MC raised his brow again. "Last I checked my name was MC I think, but I don't remember you two at all."

"T-There's no way, you look and sound just like him!" Sayori cried out.

The drone would fake a cough, catching everyone's attention. "Hey everyone, maybe we should do some more talking when we finally leave this place. The stability of this simulation is breaking and I'd rather not be the next Praedyth."

Natsuki tilted her head. "The next what now?"

Ignoring her question and breaking away from Sayori's hug, he held up his left hand as a strange gauntlet formed. "Right, we might miss the newest episode if we don't get back in time."

He aimed his gauntlet covered arm and a portal made up of data opened up, making the club members eyes widen. He smirked as he saw their reactions. "Assuming you all have been stuck here since the Pre-Golden Age Era, I think it's time you guys finally came to the future." His drone would float into the portal, followed by him stepping into it.

Monika looked over to her friends, she wanted to at least say this one last time before finally following MC. "Okay everyone! I guess this is goodbye to the clubroom…"

Natsuki let out a groan. "This day has been way too chaotic, but I guess we don't have a choice."

"T-This is all too sudden, but I suppose we should be grateful for this opportunity. I just hoped others had this opportunity." Yuri replied.

"So it really isn't a dream then…" Sayori said, still in her sullen mood.

"Come on everyone, this might be exciting! This might as well be the next biggest step in our life!" Monika, while a bit hesitant was truly excited. After the emotional rollercoaster that was this day, she might finally have the chance to go to the real world, not only that her friends won't be left behind!

The girls took one look at the clubroom, reminiscing about the meetings and memories they had for one last time. After that, they all entered the portal. They felt themselves flying through a digital space, a blue world with blocks and pixels around them, but they were going too fast to admire any of it. Soon enough after a flash of white light, the girls would find themselves in what looked like a hangar.

"Glad you girls could make it! The girls would spot MC wearing his helmet once more with his arms wide open. "Welcome to the H.E.L.M!"

Thank you for reading this! I've had this idea along with a bunch of other ways this crossover could happen for a while now and I figured I'd finally write it down. Please leave some reviews so I know what I can improve and if you want to see more of this!
