7: let's go on a date.

Gray walked down the stairs in just a bathrobe that he didn't even bother to tie. Natsu wasn't around which means he had the mansion to himself again. With a smile on his face, he grabbed his tablet that was sitting on the coffee table and sat on the sofa.

"I wonder what's going on...?" Gray mumbled as he put his legs on the table and opened his tablet.

He scrolled through the news like they were nothing. "There's nothing interesting today..." He trailed off when he saw a specific headline from an article Lucy wrote.

The Frozen Island of Galuna Is Actually Promotion for The Freeze Emperor Staring Lyon Vastia!?

'The relaxed expression that was on Gray's face a minute ago turned sour. He tapped on the article and read it. "So, Lyon created a rumor of an island frozen in time so he could promote his movie!?"

"Yep. Pretty much," a familiar voice said behind him.

He turned around and saw Natsu looking over his shoulder. Gray glared at him. "You!"

"Sorry it took us a while to get here. We had work and other things to deal with," Lucy said, closing Gray's double doors.

"I'm going to take that spare key away from you," Gray said.

Lucy dangled it in the air with a smile. "And I'm supposed to just let you do that?"

"I'm so fucking hungry! Is there anything in the fridge?" Natsu asked as he stalked over to the kitchen.

Gray stood up. "Don't go through my fridge and stop acting like you live here!"

Natsu poked his head out of the kitchen. "But you forget that I do actually live here." He went back into the kitchen.

"Don't touch anything that's mine!" Gray yelled.

"No promises!" Natsu yelled back.

Gray sat down on the couch as he tried to calm himself. When he looked up, he saw that Lucy was looking away from her. "What's wrong? You mad at me or something?"

"Not...it's just...um..." Lucy simply shoved her key into her purse. "I just saw something that I shouldn't have so ima just go. Have a good rest of the day."

He looked at her in confusion as she walked out of the front door. "What's her problem?" When he looked down, he finally realized what it was. He didn't cover his special place. Fuck! I bet she thought I was some creepy exhibitionist or something! I can't let her think that!

He heard a large crash from the kitchen. Quickly, he stood up, tied his bathrobe, and ran into the kitchen. "My beloved kitchen!"

Usually, it was clean with everything neatly put away. However, this time his kitchen was messed up. The pots and pans were taken out of where they once were, the spices were spilled onto the counter, and food from the fridge was taken out and put in random places all over the kitchen. There was Natsu standing in front of the stove and was cooking something.

"Natsu, what are you doing!?" Gray yelled at Natsu.

"You barely have anything. I'm doing you a favor by cooking you some food. You're welcome," Natsu answered.

"I'm not thankful at all! You just up and turned my place upside down. And I don't have that many stuff in my fridge cuz I'm watching what I eat! Too much food is bad for you!" Gray cried.

"And too little food is bad for you!" Natsu cried.

"I thought we came to a compromise on everything!?" Gray cried.

"We did but I changed my mind! From now on, I'm doing the cooking!" Natsu cried.

"No you're not!" Gray cried.

Natsu grabbed a nearby pot and licked it. "Oops! It's mine now!"

"Are you fucking serious!?" Gray yelled.

"It's good to be back!" Lucy cried the minute she entered her room in Fairy Hills.

She took off her shoes and flopped down onto the bed. "I never realized how much I missed my bed!"

From her spot on the bed, she noticed a bath bomb on a shelf that she hasn't used yet. "Might as well, she decided, getting out of bed.

After spending an hour in the bath, she strolled into her room and changed into some comfortable clothing. She took a beer from her mini fridge and sat down at her coffee table. "I don't have work tomorrow...so what should I do?"

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" She heard Juvia scream.

In panic, Lucy dropped her beer and ran out of her room. Erza, Cana, Mirajane, and Lisanna were out of their rooms as well.

"You heard Juvia scream, right?" Lisanna asked. Lucy nodded.

Erza summoned her sword. "On 3, we'll barge in and beat up the bad guy!"

The girls nodded and quickly looked for things to be their weapons.

Lucy chose a belt.

Cana chose a broken vodka bottle.

Mirajane chose a pan.

Lisanna chose a chankla.

"One...!" Erza started.

The girls slowly approached Juvia's door.

"Two...!"

They tightened their grips on their weapons.

"Three!"

They barged into Juvia's room.

"Juvia! Who's the idiot who needs an ass-whoopin!?" Lucy yelled.

"I will make him know his place!" Erza yelled.

"How dare someone break into Fairy Hills!? Not in my house!" Mirajane yelled.

"Intruder! Show yourself!" Cana yelled.

"Guys, it's just Juvia," Lisanna said.

The other girls calmed down and looked around the room. Like Lisanna said, there was just Juvia in the room. Juvia was glued to the window for some reason.

"Juvia? Why did you scream?" Erza asked.

Juvia quickly gestured for them to join her at the window. The girls dropped their weapons and came to the window to see what Juvia was talking about. Then they gasped.

Outside the window, there was Levy having a heated make out session with some guy they didn't know.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! I thought Levy was with Jet!" Cana cried.

"No, she was with Droy, wasn't she?" Erza asked.

"Guys, she was with none of them," Lucy answered.

"Awwww! It's so cute that Levy's finally found a man after all of those blind dates I've set her on!" Mirajane cried.

"And she chose a guy who practically looks like a god!" Lisanna cried.

"Nononononono, this is bad, you guys!" Juvia cried.

"What do you mean?" Erza asked as they backed away from the window.

"You know the Phantom Lord gang, right?" Juvia asked.

"Yeah. Aren't you in it?" Cana asked.

Juvia nodded. "But that's not important. What's important is that Levy is kissing Gajeel Redfox, the gang leader!"

"Damn. This is something you'd read in some trashy romance novel," Lucy said.

"I know, right?" Erza responded.

"All of us in Phantom Lord saw Gajeel kill the original gang leader Jose Parola just so he could be leader! Why is Levy hanging out with someone as dangerous as him!?" Juvia cried.

"Guys, he's leaving," Cana told them as she watched Gajeel enter his car and Levy waving goodbye.

The girls ran out of Juvia's room and quickly sat in their respective seats at the table that was in the kitchen area. The minute that Levy entered the house, they turned their heads and looked at her.

"Um, hi guys?" Levy greeted as she slid off her shoes and put on her slippers.

She felt their eyes following her as she made her way to her room. When she was about to open her room's door, she turned around and sat with them at the table. "What is it?"

"When did you start dating Gajeel Redfox?" Juvia asked.

Levy's face turned red.

"She's not denying it!" Erza cried.

"Levy, why!? I mean, I'm happy you're living the dangerous life but you're usually the safe one!" Cana cried.

"You do know what kind of guy he is, right!? He's not forcing you to do things you don't want to do, right!?" Lucy cried.

"Spill the tea, sis!" Mirajane cried.

"Guys, let her speak!" Lisanna cried.

Levy felt smaller than she's ever felt before. "Gajeel and I aren't exactly in a relationship. We're more like...um..."

"Fuck buddies, right?" Cana asked.

The girls turned to look at Cana.

"What? That's what me and Bacchus are. I just call him my boyfriend so I can troll you guys," Cana answered with a shrug.

Levy vigorously shook her head. "No, Gajeel and I aren't like that! It's just...um..." She looked at each of the girls before speaking. "There was this one night where he attacked me, Jet, and Droy but then he felt bad for me though, not for the other two. So ever since, he's been doing things to get me to forgive him. One thing lead to another...and now we don't really have a label on our relationship."

"...that sounds hot," Erza responded.

"It's not a big deal, guys," Levy said.

"Girl, do you not hear yourself?" Cana asked.

"Oh yeah! He's a wizard too!" Levy cried.

Juvia blinked. "He is? I never took him as being one."

"But his magic is weird. He can literally eat iron and metals and stuff," Levy said.

"That's so weird...I've never heard of anyone who could do that..." Lucy mumbled before thinking about Natsu. Natsu can eat fire and pain. Wait! Is Gajeel a demon!?

"Yeah, same. In my years of living, I've never heard of anyone with that power," Mirajane said, folding her hands and looking serious.

Has she caught on too? Lucy wondered.

"But enough about me. Let's address the elephant in the room," Levy said.

"What elephant in the room?" Lucy asked.

"The night when we heard a huge commotion coming from Lucy's room. Then Mirajane letting a pink haired boy into Fairy Hills. We were never given an explanation," Erza said.

"Oh, um, you see...ahahahaha..." Lucy started to think of thousands of excuses to explain everything that happened.

"Lucy released END from his prison and that boy I let into Fairy Hills was END but everything is dealt with for now. Oh yeah, his name is Natsu Dragneel," Mirajane answered as if it were nothing.

The girls stared at Mirajane with expressions of pure shock while Lucy face palmed.

"I thought this had to be kept a secret?" Lucy asked.

"In Fairy Hills, there are no such thing as secrets," Mirajane answered.

"Exactly. We're a sisterhood. When one suffers, we suffer together," Lisanna added.

"Okay, so I guess I can tell you guys some more information about this," Lucy said.

"Please do," Erza said.

"He said that years ago, he and I were a thing but I died so he went to the Underworld and brought me back to life," Lucy said before sighing. "At first, I didn't believe him because that story sounded crazy as hell but when we were on Galuna Island, a guardian from the Underworld tried to drag me to the Underworld since I'm not supposed to be living. Basically, I'm dead. Does that make me a zombie?"

"To be honest, this whole story sounds like your making all of this up but you seem very serious. Did you say you were about to be dragged down to the Underworld?" Cana asked.

Lucy nodded. "You know about the whole frozen Galuna Island, right?"

"Yeah. Turns out it was only a rumor to promote the Freeze Emperor. Good job on the article by the way," Juvia answered.

"Actually, I made it up. The island was actually frozen and the guardian was the one who froze the whole island just to lure me into going to the Underworld with her," Lucy confessed.

The girls looked surprised. Even Mirajane and she doesn't get surprised.

"Will more guardians come and try to take you away?" Levy asked.

"Most likely," Lucy answered. She then remembered something. "There was a point where she froze me in time cuz when I blinked, she was badly beaten up by Natsu. He told her something but I didn't catch what it was. Maybe it was a threat or something." Lucy dug her fingers into her hair. "Then apparently, the god of death is his brother, so that makes things even more complicated...I wish I had my memories back. I don't know what to think of all this but I'll feel better if I had my memories back."

"They say that ignorance is bliss though. All you know is that END is not going to do anything to hurt you. If I were you, I'd just enjoy the time you have. You have END, one of the most feared being in the world, ready to do anything for you. You don't have to bring sense and logic into this," Lisanna said.

"I know...but..." Lucy trailed off and put her head down with a sigh.

"You don't know how to face him now that you know that he wasn't lying, correct?" Juvia asked.

"Don't get me wrong. I'm grateful that he brought me back to life. It's the fact that I'm not supposed to be alive that's got me feeling like shit. The guardian Dimaria told me that I could have lived a normal life in this lifetime if I hadn't released Natsu from his prison, the Book of END. I don't know what exactly Natsu did but I know that he made a deal with Zeref, the god of death. But now that I've released him from the book, I have to go back to the Underworld. I feel bad. Natsu put all of that effort all for nothing and I'm actually a living breathing zombie. I'm not sure if I could face him again. He thinks I'm scared of him but I'm really not," Lucy explained.

"I see...you don't have work tomorrow, right?" Levy asked. Lucy nodded.

"I can close the bookstore tomorrow so you and I can go on a double date. I'll bring Gajeel and you bring Natsu," Levy said.

"Wait. Double date? Why?" Lucy asked.

"You and Natsu need to feel comfortable around each other again. Like you said, you two were lovers, correct? It doesn't make sense if there's tension. So, I'll help you ease the tension during our double date!" Levy explained.

"Good thinking, Levy! Love always wins!" Juvia cried.

"That sounded very cheesy just now," Lucy said.

"It did?" Juvia asked.

"So what do you say? Double date?" Levy asked.

"That's if he'll want to go," Lucy said.

Levy sighed. "Same with Gajeel."

But if we do go on a double date, Natsu can meet Gajeel and he can confirm if Gajeel's a demon or not, Lucy thought.

"It's been a long time since you've gone on a date, Lucy. I'm so proud of you!" Lisanna cried.

Erza quickly nudged her. "You don't have the right to say that!"

The girls grew quiet. Lisanna had opened up a wound that Lucy was healing. This wound was caused by her.

"Oh...Lucy...I didn't mean...I...I'm so sorry!" Lisanna cried.

"No, it's fine. Don't worry about it," Lucy told her.

She was still trying to forgive Lisanna after she caught her sleeping with her ex boyfriend Loke in her own room. The other girls were aware of it so they usually tried not to bring up Loke or Lucy's love life. So did Lisanna. However, Lisanna wasn't thinking and broke the unspoken taboo.

Lucy waited impatiently in front of a nice garden-themed restaurant called Flower Girl. Where's Natsu? I told Gray to tell him to meet me at this time!

She was about to call Gray when she heard bickering a few feet away from her. "That must be them."

"I'm dead serious! Don't you dare fucking put your hand on Lucy or any bullshit like that! I'll kill you myself!" Gray yelled.

"Oh, and is that supposed to make me scared!? If I was serious, you'd be dead in one second flat!" Natsu yelled back.

"Can you guys stop fighting for once!?" Lucy yelled when the boys approached her.

Natsu shot Gray a smug look as he put his arm around Lucy's shoulders and pulled her close. "Anyway, Mr. Single Boy, I have a date with my girl."

"I still can't believe Levy talked you into a double date. Please tell me you and Natsu aren't dating for real," Gray told Lucy.

"We're together! Deal with it!" Natsu cried.

"I want Lucy's words, not yours!" Gray cried.

Both boys looked at Lucy, awaiting her answer. "Um, Gray. Don't forget to buy a phone for Natsu. He desperately needs one," Lucy answered instead.

"Okay, I will, but you never gave us an answer," Gray said.

The minute Gray said that, Lucy got a text from Levy telling her to hurry up. "We gotta go!" Lucy cried, dragging Natsu inside Flower Girl.

The minute they entered the restaurant, Lucy saw Levy waving them over from their table. Gajeel had his back to them.

"Why're we going to those people? I thought it was just us?" Natsu asked.

"I don't know if people did it back then since I don't have my memories, but in this time period, people go on double dates," Lucy answered, unintentionally throwing shade.

When they arrived at the table, Levy stood up and hugged Lucy. "Operation Get Lucy To Talk To Her Man begins now!" She whispered into Lucy's ear.

Natsu looked at the Gajeel. Gajeel looked at Natsu. Both of their eyes grew wide. "You!"

Levy blinked. "They know each other?"

"Seems that way," Lucy answered.

"The fuck are you doing here!? How the fuck are you here!?" Gajeel demanded.

"None of your fucking business!" Natsu yelled.

"Gajeel, how do you two know each other...?" Levy asked.

Gajeel and Natsu glared at each other. "I ain't told you this before, but I'm not just a wizard. I'm a god. This pink idiot is one too," Gajeel answered before narrowing his eyes. "Correction, was one. He became a demon just so he could bring his little girlfriend back to life."
