10: protect ya neck.
"Looks like Elfman's getting married," Mirajane said. It was morning and she was sitting in the living room with a cup of coffee in one hand and her phone in the other.
Lisanna, who was walking out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped over her body, quickly ran to the couch.
"Yes! It's free!" Juvia cried, running into the bathroom.
"Big brother Elf's getting married!? To who!?" Lisanna cried, looking over Mirajane's shoulder.
"Evergreen. You've seen here a few times at Fairy Tail," Mirajane answered.
"isn't she always with Laxus?" Lisanna asked. Mirajane nodded.
"What!? Evergreen's marrying Elfman? Damn, and I was so convinced Laxus was having a foursome with her, Freed, and Bixslow," Cana said as she entered the kitchen where Levy was.
"Cana, don't say that!" Levy cried as she put her eggs on the frying pan.
Lucy exited her bedroom. "Good morning, guys," she said as she entered the kitchen.
"Looks like another busy day at work," Levy said, eying Lucy's outfit.
"Yeah, except that I'm off today," Lucy said.
Levy blinked. "Then why are you all dressed up?"
"I'm visiting someone so I want to make a good impression," Lucy answered before staring at her reflection through the microwave door. "Are the fake eyelashes too much?"
"Girl, you look like a snack!" Cana cried as she dug through the fridge for something.
"If you say so. I have to call Natsu and see if he's up," Lucy said, digging through her purse for her phone.
"You guys are talking again?" Levy asked.
Lucy nodded. "He explained everything to me last night."
"Ooh, what did your demon boyfriend say?" Cana asked, closing the fridge.
Lucy crossed her arms and thought about it. "A lot of information that I'm still processing. Or that I should be processing." She shrugged. "Oh well. I'm just not going to think about it right now."
"Why?" Levy asked as she turned off the fire on the stove.
"If I think about it, I'll start overthinking and when I start overthinking, I'll get distracted and when I get distracted, I won't get anything done. Natsu and I are a step closer to getting all 12 keys so I'm going to focus on that," Lucy answered.
The front doors flew open, revealing an exhausted Erza who had bags under her eyes.
"You didn't come home last night," Lisanna said, stating the obvious.
"I had to pull off an all-nighter. Police Chief Jellal Fernandes wasn't happy with the way the crime turned out so he made us work like he was some slave driver," Erza said with a yawn.
"This may come out insensitive, but this is just another Oracion Seis crime, so why's it a big deal? Is it because the victim is Karen Lilica?" Levy asked.
"Yes, it's because it's Karen Lilica, but not in the way you're thinking," Erza said as she pulled up a chair and sat down at the dining table. Lucy went ahead and started to make coffee for her.
Juvia came out of the bathroom in her bathrobe and a towel over her head. She was about to enter her room and get dressed when she saw how serious the girls looked. "What happened?"
"Last night, things were looking like a normal case. We went through Karen Lilica's last texts and the last places she's been to to see if someone hated her enough to call the Oracion Seis on her. Everything pointed to her boyfriend, Loke," Erza started.
Lucy flinched when she heard Loke's name.
Lisanna nervously glanced at Lucy.
Erza continued her story. "Bob, the CEO of the entertainment agency Blue Pegasus, told us when we interviewed him that Loke himself came up to him and said he will kill Karen but Bob didn't may any mind to it. The two of them were fighting at the time so it's common for couples to say that. The next thing was to arrest Leo."
She looked at Lucy. "I called Gray to tell him that you were going to Loke's place."
"You saw Loke last night? That's why you were in a hurry?" Levy asked.
Lucy nodded. "First I went to the crime scene, then I visited Loke so I can tell him myself that Karen's dead. But, then he tried to kill me."
The girls gasped when they heard the last part.
"He tried to kill you!?" Juvia cried, her eyes wide in horror.
"I called Gray because I had a bad feeling so I wanted him to go and get you. I guess I made a good call," Erza said before realizing something. "Wait, that doesn't make sense. When we arrived at Loke's apartment, he was nowhere to be seen. You weren't either. The whole place looked like a mess though, as if he was abducted or something. And there were large traces of magic left behind."
"I don't remember much, but I know Natsu came in and saved me. Turns out, Loke's a Zodiac spirit so I have his key now," Lucy answered, waving the Leo key in her hands.
"Ah, I see. We were ordered by Jellal to spend the rest of the night looking for Loke. He felt that something was up because of the magic traces." Erza sighed and ruffled her hair in annoyance. "That all-nighter was all for nothing."
"Sorry," Lucy said, handing Erza her coffee.
"It's fine, but now we need to think about how we're going to close this case," Erza answered before taking a sip of her coffee. "Mmm...this is nice..."
Lucy glanced at her phone. "I'd like to stay and chat but I have to get going. Later." She grabbed her things and walked out the door.
All Gray wanted was to take a nice, long bath, but his plans were interrupted when he caught Natsu laying in his bathtub. Gray's scented candles were lighting up the place and Natsu was asleep in the tub.
"Get out! You have your own bathroom! Why're you in mine!?" Gray yelled.
Natsu opened one eye. "Yours is bigger." He closed his eye.
"I think you're tying to make me kick you out on purpose!" Gray yelled.
"Okay, kick me out. That'll only make Lucy mad at you," Natsu answered without opening his eyes.
Gray clenched his fists in anger and the temperature in the bathroom started to rapidly drop. The candles went out and the water in the bathtub turned to ice. Natsu quickly jumped out of the tub. "Okay! I'm out! Damn!"
To clam himself, Gray stormed out of the bathroom and went downstairs. Cooking has always calmed him down. He grabbed an onion. Then, he grabbed a knife. He took out his anger on the onion by cutting it into small pieces, imagining it was Natsu. He took a few more onions and repeated the process. By the time he was done cutting 17 onions, he was a sobbing mess.
Natsu, who was fully clothed unlike Gray, strolled into the kitchen. "Wow. Did I hurt your feelings that bad?"
Gray threw the knife at Natsu and Natsu caught it like it was nothing.
Gray wiped his tears and glared at Natsu. "Who are you?"
Natsu spun the knife in his hands. "Natsu Dragneel."
"I know that. I mean, what are you?" Gray pressed.
Natsu stopped spinning the knife. "What made you wonder that?"
Gray started to study Natsu's facial expressions and they movements he made. "Last night when Erza called...I was outside and you were inside. How did you hear that Lucy was visiting her ex?"
"Good question," Natsu responded, thinking of how he should answer the question. Fuck, he's suspicious! This guy's a demon slayer! Once he figures out that I'm a demon, I'm done!
Based on his observations, Gray concluded that Natsu was nervous. So he is hiding something. "You're obviously not human so...what are you?"
Natsu started to plan his next action. I should kill him before he even gets the chance of killing me. He slowly tightened his grip on the knife and locked his eyes on Gray's, watching for any sudden movement should Gray fight back. I'll just end his life swiftly. He won't know what hit him! He'll enter the Underworld, confused as fuck. Sucks to be him.
Gray noticed Natsu's movements. He's going to attack me. Could it be that he's...a demon...?
The tension was cut when they heard the sound of high heels clicking against the marble floor.
Lucy! The boys simultaneously thought. When Gray wasn't looking, Natsu threw the knife at him. Gray barely dodged the knife by a centimeter. The knife landed on an onion that was behind him and cut it perfectly in half.
"Natsu? Gray?" They heard Lucy cry.
"In here!" Gray called out.
Lucy entered the kitchen. Then, she quickly covered eyes and looked away. "Did I come at a bad time?"
"No you didn-" Gray looked down and saw that he was completely naked. "Are you fucking kidding me!?" He yelled, running upstairs.
Natsu grabbed Lucy's arm and dragged her out of the penthouse. "Natsu!? Wait! Why're you in a rush!?" Lucy cried.
"No reason! Let's go!" Natsu cried.
After dealing with the morning traffic, Natsu and Lucy found themselves standing in front of the headquarters of Sabretooth. Flags with the logo for Sabretooth hung around the building that looked more like a castle.
"Welcome to Sabretooth," Lucy announced.
Natsu could not stop looking up. "This place is huge..."
"Not a surprise. Sabretooth is one of the biggest video gamming companies in the world. Their latest game, The Grand Magic Games, was a total success," Lucy answered as they entered the building.
The front lobby was busy with people walking left to right. Flat screen TVs were around the place, showing the gameplay of The Grand Magic Games. In the center of it all was a large glass statue of a sabretooth tiger. "Welcome to Sabretooth where magic gets virtual," a woman's voice over the intercom announced.
"Okay, time to meet Yukino," Lucy said to herself. She looked next to her and saw that Natsu wasn't there. "Ugg, you've got to be kidding me!"
Natsu was pushed into an elevator by a sea of people. "Lucy! Wait! I'm in here!" He yelled, trying to swim away. It was no use. The elevator door closed in his face.
He frown as he stood there, waiting for the elevator door to open as it went up. The man beside him answered a phone call. "Yes? Rufus Lore speaking."
Natsu leaned closer to listen to Rufus' conversation. He's only mastered the art of texting. Calling people on the phone, however, was something different. He remembered being shocked when he overheard Gray talking to that woman Erza last night. Now this Rufus guy is talking to someone else. The person must be named Orga since Rufus had just said, "Orga, are you dumb!?" What is this magic that gives people the ability to talk to others when they're not there? How can he use this magic? He was finding it difficult to wrap his head around this science.
Rufus noticed Natsu leaning on him. Because there were too many people on the elevator, he couldn't move away. "Hey, um, are you good?" Rufus asked.
"Can I see that?" Natsu asked.
"See what?" Rufus asked.
"That communication lacrima you humans call a phone," Natsu answered.
"Weird wording...but I'm in the middle of a call. You may use it when I'm done," Rufus said.
"Sweet," Natsu said the minute the elevator doors opened. Natsu swiftly snatched the phone out of Rufus' hand and exited the elevator.
"Wait! That's my phone!" Rufus yelled. He tried to go after Natsu but he was pushed back by the people entering the elevator.
With a child-like smile, Natsu walked down the hallway of the floor he was brought to as he tried to figure out the science of the phone. "Hello?" He spoke into the phone.
"Rufus?" The voice, most likely belonging to Orga, asked.
"Whoa! I'm talking to someone! Who are you?" Natsu asked.
"Orga Nanagear. Anyway, where's Rufus?" Orga asked.
"How does this thing work?" Natsu asked.
"You just...talk," Orga answered.
"Okay...but why does it work like that?" Natsu asked.
"How am I supposed to know!?" Orga cried.
Natsu took the phone from his ear and put it on speaker. "Hello!?" He yelled.
"Bruh, you yelled in my ear!" Orga cried. Natsu noted that Orga's voice was louder.
"Whoa...magic..." Natsu mumbled, pressing the home button. He saw all of the apps that were on Rufus' phone.
"Dude, you good? You sound like you're high off your shit or something," Orga asked.
Natsu pressed on the messaging app, the only app he understood. He tapped on one message randomly and read what it said.
i'll see ya later tonight babe
There was a picture of anal beads.
should we try these?
The next picture was of nipple clamps
or what about these?
The person Rufus was texting texted back: omg babe ur so funny! lets do both!
"Whoa...what are these things...?" Natsu asked, zooming into the pictures.
"Found you...!" He heard Rufus say behind him.
Natsu turned around and saw an out of breath Rufus. "You can have your phone back."
Rufus charged towards Natsu. Natsu quickly ran off. "Dude! Chillout! I just said you can have your phone! Why're you chasing me!?" Natsu cried.
"You better not have gone through my texts!" Rufus yelled.
"But what if I did!?" Natsu cried.
"So you did!" Rufus yelled.
"Damn. Now he knows that you're a kinky freak sksksksksksksksksksksksk," Orga, who was still on speaker, said.
"Give it back!" Rufus cried, picking up speed.
"I tried to!" Natsu cried, activating his super speed. In seconds, he had gone to the end of the hallway and then passed Rufus and entered the elevator.
"What...give me my phone!" Rufus yelled.
Natsu put the phone on the ground. Then, with his hands up like he was a criminal, he slowly back up into the elevator. The doors closed in his face. "Why's he so mad at me...?" He wondered as he stared at the doors. Suddenly, the doors slid open, revealing an absolutely pissed off Rufus on the other side.
"Shit shit shit shit shit shit," Natsu repeated as he pressed the button that he remembered seeing someone press to close the elevator door.
Rufus was trying to get into the elevator. "You must pay for what you did!"
"But I did nothing wrong!" Natsu yelled. The elevator doors successfully closed and Natsu pressed the highest number. The elevator started going up.
As he waited for the elevator to reach the floor he chose, he heard a ringing sound coming from his jacket's pockets. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "Incoming call from Wifey..." Natsu read the caller ID out loud and pressed the answer button.
"Natsu! You had one job and that was to stay with me! Where the fuck are you!? This place is too big for me to look on every individual floor for you! Please tell me you didn't get yourself into any trouble!" Lucy cried.
"Yo, Lucy. I can hear you talk," Natsu said.
"Yeah, cuz this is a phone! Natsu, I'm not playing! Where are you!?" Lucy cried.
"I'm in the elevator," Natsu answered.
"Okay, elevator...where's it heading?" Lucy asked.
"To the top floor," Natsu answered.
He heard Lucy gasp on the other line. "Why're you going there!? That's where the chairman usually is! You don't just go onto his floor! And I heard the top floor is permission only!"
"Ah, but you forget that the chairman and I go way back," Nastu cheekily said.
"Don't do anything dumb and stay there. I'm coming," Lucy said before ending the call.
The elevator doors opened and Natsu put his phone back into his jacket's pocket. "Okay. Time to find Sting."
He stepped out of the elevator and had quickly figured out that this whole entire floor belonged to Sting. There were all sorts of professionally painted portraits of Sting that looked like they were from the Resonance hanging on the walls. Then, there were trophies and awards sitting on platforms around the place.
He eyed the door to the room at the end of the hallway. "He must be in there."
He casually strolled down the hallway and entered the room. Immediately, he noticed a large, golden throne with royal blue cushions. Then, he saw Sting Eucliffe sitting on the throne and tapping his finger on the golden desk he was sitting at.
"Natsu. Long time no see," Sting said.
A woman with pale blue hair in a pixie cut entered the room with Lucy following behind her. The name plate that was on her suit read "Yukino Agria."
Lucy bowed when she saw Sting. "I'm so sorry, sir! And if he caused trouble, I'm sorry for that too!"
"It's fine. You're the one who brought him here, correct?" Sting asked. Lucy nodded.
"I want him out," Sting said.
Natsu and Lucy blinked. "...out?"
"You heard me," Sting said, glancing at the rings he wore on his fingers.
"But Sting. It's me, Natsu," Natsu said, hoping it would get Sting to change his mind.
"I know. That's what I want you out," Sting said as he narrowed his eyes. "You cause destruction everywhere you go. I don't want you to destroy my company that I worked hard to build into the company it is today."

Wassup!? It's ya gurl sugarsugarrush!
When I wrote chapter nine aka last chapter, I was sleepy as fuck. Like, I posted it, took a nap, and when I woke up, I was all like "fuck I hate that chapter why did I put all that information too early? I gotta delete that shit" but I saw that people have already seen it. So my perfectionist self refused to even look back at the story and even had thoughts like "oh, when I come back, everyone's gonna cuss me out! They hate the chapter too! Bruhhhhh this story is bullshit! That's what you get for posting the first chapter after seeing 1 episode of a Kdrama!" Like, I was for real going to abandon this! But then I felt bad so now, here I am back to updating more chapters! Moral of the story: The mind is your worst enemy
