"Hey, come on, if you want to ride with us, you better hurry up!"

"I'm coming! Chill out!"

The boy sighs, rolling his eyes as he ducks down to fit into the driver seat of the sedan. He glances over at the middle aged woman sitting in the passenger seat. He reaches at the bottom of the seat, before locating the lever to adjust the seat. He would've slid himself back if it weren't for the younger girl speaking up again.

"Hey, don't crush me!"

He glances over his shoulder. "I need leg room, I'm the tall person here. Go scoot over behind your mom if it's a problem, cause my legs are more important than yours right now."

"Mom, is that true?"

"Yes, Lauren," the woman says to her. "Just give Ben the space he needs, and sit behind me."

She groans, sliding over and buckling her seatbelt, while Ben pushes his seat back as far as it can go.

"How does that feel?" The woman asks him.

"It'll work, as long as my knee isn't scraping the steering wheel."

"Ben, if you hurt your knee on the steering wheel, I can fix it."

"Can you now?"

"Yes, I'm gonna be a doctor. I'll do all kinds of things to help people."

"Lauren, I've torn my ACL, and I don't think general doctors do surgeries to reattach them."

"Well, then I'll be a surgeon."

"That sounds great. You can work on your plans when we get back," Ben tries to stop the conversation so they can get going.

"You know where you're going for the food?"

"Yeah, the one on Lyndale, right?"

"Yes, Lyndale."

"Alright, just confirming."

"You know how to get there?"

"Yeah, I've been there before."

"Okay. Do you have everything?"

He taps his pockets. "I don't have my phone."

"Well, you're driving, you won't need that-"

"Don't worry, Benny, I have your phone."

Ben's head whips around. "What?"

She waves it around. "What's your password?"

"Not something you'll guess. And I told you last night to not call me 'Benny.'"

She snickers. "Well, I can still film you."

"Now, Lauren, we're not distracting Ben when he's driving, so you'll be putting that away, right?"

"Right, mom."

"Alright. Here's the keys, Ben."

"Thank you."

Ben puts the key into the ignition before he suddenly stops.

"Something wrong, Ben?"

"I forgot my license. It's probably in the smallest pouch in my bag. I'll be right back."

"Okay. Lauren, stay seated."

Ben opens the car door, standing up and walking across the street quickly, but not quickly enough. He, nor had Lauren or her mother noticed the car driving down the street. Not until it hits into Ben. All he remembers is his face quickly getting closer to the ground.

Little bit of an introduction to the story, to introduce the main OC! I've had this planned for over a year actually, and this has gone through countless edits to get the general plot where it is now. First actual chapter will be posted as soon as possible!
