Yeah gonna be honest, updates here are gonna slow down a bit. I wanted to churn out chapters every couple days, but my classes started back up online and I'm doing college application stuff, so it's uh, it's going.
Anyways this chapter is just Class 1-A interactions and stuff. It's kinda messy but uh I hope you enjoy it anyways.
It had been a couple days since everyone had moved in, and things were going well. For the most part.
Ashido was laying on the couch in the common room. Everyone had resigned themselves to hide in their rooms the past few days, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions, however, were just people visiting other people's dorms. She texted Hagakure to meet her in the common room.
"What's up?" the invisible girl chirped.
"I'm boreeeddddd…" Ashido groaned. "All these nerds just wanna camp in their rooms all day. I wanna do something! Like an icebreakers kinda thing. Like, I don't know these people, let's change that."
"Ooh! Let's play truth or dare!" Hagakure hooped up and down.
"Hm, I don't know, that seems too easy, y'know? Every teenage icebreaker is truth or dare, that's boring. It's either that or everyone sits in a circle and shares some facts about them. We can do better than that!"
They both paused for a moment while they thought deeply. Suddenly, Hagakure started waving around wildly, "I have an idea! So, there are tons of cliché teenager games like truth or dare, but what if we combined them? Like, like truth or dare, seven minutes in heaven, and…" she stopped.
"Spin the bottle!" Ashido cheered, "Tooru, you're a genius!"
"Thanks, I try. It's a totally original idea that I had by myself, and nobody else has ever done anything like it." It was the most overdone game ever played.
The pair had knocked on everyone's doors and invited them to play in half an hour. Most everyone agreed, but there were a few hang ups. Todoroki and Tokoyami had to be bribed, Shouji reluctant but decided to join when he was grabbing something to eat as they were starting, and Bakugou only agreed when he heard Kirishima was going too. They arranged the furniture in a circle and all sat down. Ashido stood in the middle to explain the game.
"So, I bet you nerds wanna know why you're here, huh?" Ashido started. Kirishima had to stop Bakugou from leaving immediately. "Well we're gonna play some games to get to know each other. Like, c'mon, I don't even know half of your names. I'm looking at you, monkey boy, you still haven't told me who you are.
The game is simple. I'm sure you've all heard of these, so I'll make it quick. I have a bottle," she pulled out a bottle. "When it's your turn, you show up here in the middle, spin it, and whoever it lands on, you ask them truth or dare. After that, you have to go in the closet with them. They spin the bottle to choose the next person's turn, and that dork keeps playing truth or dare with all of us until seven minutes are up. Then the person spinning the bottle and their victim go into the closet after another truth or dare question. The cycle repeats. It's pretty easy, right?" she smiled at the audience. Bakugou tried to leave again.
"I'll go first!" Ashido called, "since I'm already here." She spun the bottle on the floor and it landed on Sero. "Ok, truth or dare."
"Pfft, dare," Sero scoffed, "you think I'm stupid?"
"What's your most embarrassing story from middle school?" Ashido smirked.
Sero rubbed his bashfully, "I uh, I forced my friend to drink hot sauce out of a paper mache bottle. We had a lot to clean up." After the class chuckled at his story, he and Ashido got up and went to the closet. Hagakure kept a timer so they wouldn't be in there too long. As Sero left, he spun the bottle, leaving it in Kouda's hands.
The timid boy spun the bottle and landed on Kaminari. He gestured to him instead of asking the question.
"Ha, dare!" Kaminari stood up dramatically. Kouda looked startled, not knowing where to go from here. He grabbed some paper and sat down for a moment before finally writing something and handing it to Kaminari.
"'Draw a picture of a classmate, choosing by spinning'?" Kaminari read. "That's a piece of cake!" He smiled confidently before spinning the bottle to see who he would draw. It stopped on Todoroki.
"This guy? Let's see what I can do," Kaminari did some over-the-top hand gestures, like framing his hands like a camera at Todoroki, who sat idly with a vacant expression. Kaminari got to work, and within a few minutes, perfection was born.
"Wow Kaminari, you're such a good artist!" Midoriya called out. He received many other appraisals, which he took with a smile on his face. He spun once more to see who he would ask, stopping at Midoriya.
"Alright greenie, truth or dare?"
"Uhh… truth."
Kaminari smirked, taking this opportunity to strike, "Do you have a crush on anybody?" he pointed aggressively at Midoriya, who froze.
"U-u-uh, dare?" he squeaked. Kaminari looked disappointed.
"… Fine, but only because I like a good dare," he stopped to think for a moment before a devilish grin found its way onto his face. "Spin the bottle," he stayed gravely, "and whoever it lands on has to sit in your lap for the two turns after yours." Midoriya's soul left his body as he stood up to spin the bottle. It kept spinning and spinning as his heart was racing. It stopped.
"Tokoyami?" the class called out. The bird boy stood up reluctantly and sat down halfway in Midoriya's lap.
"This isn't worth the money…" he muttered. Midoriya spun the bottle again, landing on Iida.
"So, truth or dare?" he asked.
"If this is a learning exercise to help our class bond together, then I would be remiss to choose anything that wasn't truth!" Iida called out, in an awkwardly loud voice.
"Oh, so what's your quirk?" Midoriya smiled, brandishing his notebook. Iida explained to the class about how his quirk worked, and the finer details, such as how it uses orange juice as a fuel, and Midoriya scribbled it down fervently. Afterwards, Iida stood up and spun the bottle, landing on Asui.
"So Asui—"
"Call me Tsu, ribbit."
"I'm sorry. So Tsu, truth or dare?" Iida was a bit shaken by her sudden interjection.
"Hmm, dare," Asui was afraid she'd have to suffer the same fate as Midoriya, who was sitting next to her with Tokoyami. She figured that was better than spilling her secrets.
Iida did not have an answer. He couldn't think of a dare. So instead he faltered for a bit before simply giving up and going with a truth disguised as a dare.
"Tell us about your hobbies," he mumbled, defeated.
"Well I like watching TV, and swimming, and spending time with friends," she lightly punched Midoriya's arm, "especially this dork." She specifically omitted that the word "friends" really shouldn't have been pluralized, instead ignoring her past for the game. Then it was her turn to take a spin on the bottle. It landed on Uraraka.
"So, truth or dare, ribbit?"
Uraraka paused for a moment, "I think I'll go truth."
"Ok. Who's the hottest guy in our class?" Nobody was expecting those words to come out of Asui's mouth. Uraraka looked around for a moment, dazed and confused.
"Uh, um… well, uh… maybe… Todoroki?" she choked out uncomfortably. It was at that moment that Hagakure's timer went off, and she opened the closet to see Ashido and Sero doing literally nothing but talking. Ashido was pouring slightly, wanting to see something a bit spicier happen on the first closet time. Tokoyami immediately left Midoriya's lap and returned to his spot.
Uraraka got up to spin the bottle shakily, knowing that she would have to spend time with someone in the closet next. Once she saw who it landed on, she wanted to cry.
Mineta hopped up excitedly, and without being prompted, shouted, "I pick dare!"
Uraraka deadpanned at him, "I dare you to stay silent for the next 7 minutes." She sat down in the closet, drawing her knees up to her chin. Mineta frowned as he walked in, but he figured that he didn't need words. The door was closed, trapping Uraraka with the maniac, who had spun on Aoyama before he left.
Aoyama spun the bottle quite flamboyantly, landing on Tokoyami again.
"Truth or dare, mon ami?"
"Truth," Tokoyami grunted.
"Ah, fantastique! What is your favorite pet?" Aoyama smiled glamorously at him.
"…cats." Tokoyami spun the bottle silently, landing on Kaminari again.
"Whoo-hoo! Gimme another dare!" he shouted. Dark Shadow appeared and whispered into Tokoyami's ear something. Everyone was shocked, to say the least, only ever seeing Dark Shadow (and Tokoyami, for that matter) during meal times, where he was fed under the table.
Tokoyami's beak curled into a smile as he stared knives into Kaminari, remembering that his dare on Midoriya was the reason that he had to see in his lap, "Sit in someone else's lap for the rest of the game. Spin."
Kaminari froze for a moment before chuckling awkwardly, "That's all? Ok." The bottle stopped on Jirou. He chuckled awkwardly again before standing in front of his target. It took a few tries and a lot of blushing, but he eventually settled in her lap pretty comfortably.
Kaminari spun the bottle again to see who's turn it was, pointing at Ojiro.
"Alright monkey man, truth or dare?"
"Umm, truth I guess."
"Aw you're no fun…" Kaminari pouted, causing Jirou to smirk. "So what was the worst part of your childhood?"
"Oh man, definitely controlling my quirk. I had to write so many apology letters for hitting people with my tail." Ojiro got up and gave the bottle a spin, landing on Bakugou. Completely unprompted, he opened his mouth.
"Dare, bitch. I dare you to try and embarrass me. If you value your life," Bakugou hissed. Ojiro couldn't tell if he was joking or not.
"Uhh… I dare you to confess to someone that you love them. Whether it's genuine or not," Ojiro stuttered out. Bakugou immediately turned to Kirishima, the only person he could actually talk to (marginally).
"Hey shithead," he turned and stared into Kirishima's eyes, "I fucking like you. Wanna date?" The whole room was silent. Kirishima's blush was as red as his hair.
"How fuckin' romantic," Jirou joked, and the whole class laughed with her. Bakugou was about to be convicted of mass homicide, but Kirishima put his hand on his shoulder and calmed him down. The whole class was shocked by Kirishima's unspoken magic powers to tame the beast.
Hagakure's timer went off again, and she opened the door to show the class the two locked away. Uraraka was sitting alone in the closet, while Mineta was floating above her, desperately trying to return to the ground. Uraraka got up and released her quirk, dropping Mineta on the floor. Then the whole class came to a shocking realization.
Someone had to spend seven whole minutes with Bakugou now, alone in the closet. He knowingly smirked as he swung the bottle around, and it skittered to a halt on Hagakure.
"Truth or dare?" he said maliciously.
"U-uh, truth?" she stammered.
"How often do you use your quirk to spy on people?" he grinned, "And have you spies on any of us? Who was it?"
"Uhh! That's more than one question!" she protested.
"So you have been fucking spying on us," he smirked, "You thought you were sneaky."
"T-to answer your question!" Hagakure blurred out quickly, "I can use my quirk to spy on people more often than I would like to admit and that's all!"
"Heh," Bakugou laughed to himself as he stepped into the closet. Hagakure soon followed, passing her timer off to Ashido instead. She spun and the bottle decreed that Asui would go next. She spun the bottle, and it landed on Shouji.
"So, ribbit, truth or dare?" Asui said. Shouji thought for a while.
"I have nothing to lose. Dare."
Asui smiled and leaned over to Midoriya. They whispered back and forth for a bit before Asui turned back to Shouji, "I dare you to hold as many people as you can. I'll spin your bottle, and they climb on your back." Shouji looked shocked, but he got off the couch he was sitting on and crouched onto the ground, preparing to lift.
Asui spun Mineta first. He just stood on Shouji's back. Next was Kaminari, who Shouji actually had to hold in place with one of his hands. Tokoyami was next, and Shouji used another arm to stabilize him. He was doing pretty well, with three people on his back. Next was Kirishima, who was heavy on Shouji's back. Aoyama came next, and Shouji dropped from his crouch to his knees, beginning to buckle under the weight. Uraraka came next. She ended up being more on Kirishima and Kaminari's back than Shouji, and very far from Mineta. Then Satou was spun. Before he was fully on, Shouji collapsed, and everyone fell off.
"Six!" he raised one of his arms up, speaking out of a mouth on the end of the adjacent limb. His voice came out ragged and out of breath. He got up and dusted himself off, and took his spin on the bottle, landing on Yaoyorozu.
"Truth or dare?"
"Hm… I think the right choice here is truth," Yaoyorozu decided. Shouji entered deep thought for a moment before deciding on his question.
"Hmm…" Shouji rubbed his chin pensively, "Have you ever been in a relationship?"
Yaoyorozu smiled in an almost remorseful way, shaking her head, "No, I have not. It's not something that's been a focus of mine." She rose and spun the bottle, stopping at Ashido.
"Ok Ashido, truth or dare?"
"Dare, baby!" she hollered. Yaoyorozu seemed to be at odds with what to do, not knowing a good dare. Then, Kaminari, still in Jirou's lap and sitting next to Yaoyorozu, leaned over and whispered something to her. She seemed unsure of it, but he gave her a thumbs up and reassured her.
"Um, I dare you to… take off… your shirt for the rest of the night…" she winced and looked away.
"Kaminari~!" she said with faux anger while taking off her shirt. "So, is that it?" Yaoyorozu nodded in response, averting her eyes. The whole class had a bit of an awkward air to it, and Ashido sprung up to spin the bottle. A couple of the guys had started looking down with blushes on their faces.
The game continued uneventfully until Bakugou and Hagakure emerged from the closet. Hagakure seemed distressed as she accepted her timer back from Ashido, but Bakugou was unfazed. After them, Yaoyorozu and Tokoyami were let into the closet together (after Tokoyami was asked about what Dark Shadow could do, Yaoyorozu was interested). After them, Ashido had the bottle and spun it. The bottle landed on Midoriya.
"Alright greenie, truth or dare~!" Ashido shouted, an obvious question hiding within her black sclera. Midoriya saw the eagerness on her face and immediately clammed up, knowing his fate if he chose truth.
"Ehh… uh, dare," he mumbled, looking down.
"Hehehehehe!" the stare in Ashido's eyes frightened him to no end as she laughed and pointed at him. "Now you have to take off your shirt! Show us what you're hiding!" her smile spread across her face as she could see the boy tense up. This was exactly what she was looking for in a good truth or dare game—hot shirtless guys.
And of course, Midoriya did not disappoint. He stood up and swung off his shirt and revealed his chiseled abs and sculpted body. The whole class gasped to see how ripped the scrawny kid was. Even Bakugou's jaw dropped, unaware of this development.
"What the fuck? He was never jacked before? Has he been working out? The fuck?! Is this part of his stupid quirk? Fuck, how'd he do it? Has he been working under my nose? Or has he just never told me? Is the shitty dork really that strong? C-could he actually fucking… be a competent hero? …what the fuck am I saying? Who gives a fuck what Deku's doing."
Midoriya walked over to the bottle and spun it, landing on Sero. Asui stared at his shirtless body as he walked back to sit next to her. Not that he noticed, or ever would, so she was pretty lucky. Her sweaty palms and pink cheeks could attest to that.
"Truth or dare?" Midoriya smiled at Sero.
"I'll go dare this time!" Sero smiled confidently. Midoriya spoke with Asui briefly (and she managed to keep calm long enough to not kiss him right there, her emotions starting to built to an uncontrollable level), and they nodded together after finishing their conference.
"I dare you," Midoriya paused for dramatic effect, flashing an intense smile on his face, "I dare you to kiss everyone in the class on the forehead or cheek!" The room went silent. Sero's face went red.
"A-are you sure?!" Sero stuttered. Midoriya smiled back at him.
"You can start with me, then Tsuyu, and go in a circle!" a sinister grin rested upon his and Asui's face as the rest of the class felt a bit awkward. As told, Sero stepped up and gave Midoriya a smooch on the forehead, followed by Asui, and continued around the circle of furniture that everyone was sitting in. Only Ashido, Hagakure, and Kaminari asked for kisses on the cheek, and Sero almost missed Ashido's cheek in his nervousness and brushed her lips. They didn't actually kiss, but Sero could feel his face ignite with a foreign heat as he quickly gave her the cheek kiss and moved on in a panic. Ashido giggled a bit at his antics. When he kissed Kirishima, he whispered "good night" to Sero, causing the whole class to laugh.
They continued playing beyond Sero's good night kisses until dinner, where Kirishima managed to convince Bakugou to make dinner, which everyone loved. After that, everyone returned to doing their own thing. However, there were quite a few more people hanging out in the common room, watching TV or playing amongst themselves. Ashido looked on from the kitchen and smiled before playing her royal flush on Kaminari and Sero in their poker game.
Midoriya and Asui had gone up to Midoriya's dorm to play blackjack (they got a deck of cards from Kaminari). They had stolen a small table and some stools from the common room and set up to play. They chatted with each other as they played.
"Our class sure is something else," Asui murmured, a smile on her face.
"Yeah, there's some crazy people in there," Midoriya chuckled.
"Did you see how much hot sauce Kaminari drank?" Asui mused. "I didn't know a person could down 4 bottles in one sitting." She shuddered at the disgusting thought.
"Three and a half," Midoriya corrected, "he already had a crack at that first bottle."
"I heard they're opening the cafeteria tomorrow," Asui started, "so we can find out if the food there is any good."
"I heard it was really good from some upperclassmen in passing," Midoriya explained. "Apparently it's made by the hero Lunch Rush."
"Lunch Rush? Never heard of him."
"He's a bit obscure, which is probably why he's the chef here."
"Makes sense," Asui laid down her cards. Midoriya groaned, knowing his cards couldn't beat hers.
Until he laid his hand down and revealed that it won, and that he was faking his exasperation. Asui put her head down on the table.
"Ugh, how are you so lucky with the cards, ribbit?" Asui croaked.
"Who said it was luck?" Midoriya teased, grinning ear to ear.
"Pfft, shut up," she jokingly punched his shoulder. They shared a laugh together before dropping their gazes at each other. They stared lovingly into each other's eyes, like a bad romance movie. They each hear the other's breathing become quicker and heavier. Asui's mind was racing.
"He's so adorable… h-he has that look, like the one he had when we were walking to the mall together. Wow, my chest aches. But it's that good ache, let when we hug or when I dream about him. Maybe ache isn't the right word…
Should I tell him? Should I tell him that I like him? Maybe now's not the time. B-but if not right now, then when should I? His face is going red, it's so cute! I can't pry my eyes off of him. I should do it! I can do it! …but what if I'm wrong? What if he doesn't share my feelings? Well I should still tell him and get it off my chest and get over him if he doesn't like me… would I be able to get over him? I've been crushing on him for almost 10 months now… that's not something you just drop. I don't want to just drop these feelings either… I really, really like him, I can't just give up these emotions now. But I have to tell him sometime…! What do I do?!"
Asui smiled at him before standing up, "I-I uh, I should probably get going, ribbit. It's late, we should go to bed." Midoriya shook himself out of his stupor.
"R-right! I'll put the table back and give Kaminari his cards back," Midoriya sprung up and started shaking his head. They both left the room, Midoriya carrying the table and cards, and they waved goodbye when they reached the stairwell and split paths. After Midoriya returned everything, he returned to his dorm and flopped on his bed.
"What just happened?"
I'll have you know that each bottle interaction was determined by a random number generation (unless they were in the closet... Hagakure got pulled a lot while she was in the closet). Anyways, hope you enjoy! I'll be back with a new chapter when I get struck by some dumb idea. Eventually.
