Chapter 6: Evelyn's Hurtful Words.
Two days later, Dash was asking his parents if he could go crime-fighting with them.
"Come on, Mom and Dad. One day away won't hurt." Dash said.
"We would let you, Dash, but this villain is too dangerous. Aside from that, we need you to prove to Evelyn that Supers aren't as bad as she thinks. If we need you, we'll call you." Elastigirl said.
"Okay, Mom." Dash said.
Later, after they had left and Evelyn had made breakfast, Dash was sitting in the living room watching Pokemon.
Evelyn came in and looked at the TV before she snickered.
"What's so funny?" Dash asked.
"You watching this." Evelyn said.
"So? I like Pokemon." Dash said.
"At your age, watching this is something that can only be laughed at. I mean, how old are you?" Evelyn said.
"10, matter of fact." Dash answered.
"Well, no wonder your parents won't let you fight with them." Evelyn said.
"What does that mean?" Dash asked.
"I'm just saying, you act like this kid with a Pikachu." Evelyn said.
"I don't think about Pokemon during fights." Dash said.
"No, but you behave like this twerp." Evelyn said.
"Just because I think Ash is cool doesn't mean my parents have a reason to not let me fight." Dash said.
"Maybe, but if you get all your ideas about glory from this kid on the show, and glory's all you think about during fights, it's no mystery why your parents keep you out of the fight, probably because your sister thinks you're just the ignorant blockhead that will slow them down by acting the rash way you do and convinces them. In my opinion, after the Underminer fiasco, they should've just kept you locked up. Maybe that was why that happened, because they saw an air headed kid who just wants to get people killed so he can have the spotlight." Evelyn said.
That struck a nerve. Dash's eyes filled with tears before he looked angry. He grabbed the remote and threw it at Evelyn, who caught it just before it could hit her in the face.
"What do you know about that?! Mom should've just let you rot in jail! You're no better than the Underminer!" Dash yelled before he ran to his room.
Dash didn't come out of his room for the rest of the day. This didn't go unnoticed by his parents when they came back.
"Where's Dash?" Elastigirl asked.
"In his room." Evelyn answered.
Elastigirl walked up to Dash's room and stopped at the door when she heard crying. She got wide eyes before she went in. She marched back to Evelyn five minutes after.
"Are you why is Dash crying?" Elastigirl asked.
"Just because I told him the truth about how you don't let him fight because he's an arrogant blockhead." Evelyn said.
"That's not true. His arrogance is kept in check. You had no reason to go all brutal on him." Elastigirl said.
"Still, he should have stayed locked up, just so he wouldn't get innocent people killed." Evelyn said.
Elastigirl grew furious before she stomped on Evelyn's foot.
"Ouch!" Evelyn said before Elastigirl crunched her foot under her heel.
"I'm only going to say this once, if you make him cry again, you're dead! Out on the street, capice?!" Elastigirl asked angrily.
Evelyn nodded. Elastigirl then took her heel off Evelyn's foot.
