Christine's Pov

As I woke up I felt a weight around my waist and my fingers were intertwined with someone's, and after a moment I remembered that it was Michael. He had been holding me when I had fallen to sleep yesterday. I looked at the digital clock on my bedside table, which was thankfully on the bedside table on my side of the bed, and saw that it was 7:23 in the morning, which meant I had slept well over twelve hours. I slowly turned around half way and saw that Michael was still asleep beside me, and that he still looked handsome when he slept. I was glad that I knew he didn't snore, because that would be a pain in the future. I was also glad that neither of us had fallen off the bed, which was possible because this bed was barely big enough to fit two people.

I slowly lifted Michael's arm up and slipped my way away from him carefully, placing his arm back down as I got off the bed quietly. Somehow, I had managed not to wake him up, which I was happy about because I wanted to let him sleep until he woke up on his own. I went over to my wardrobe and went through it, grabbing some clothes out of it, before I went over to my door and slipped out of the room. I walked to the bathroom and went inside, shutting the door softly behind me.

When I got back into my room, with damp hair and dressed in a pair of blue skinny jeans and a plain black V-neck t-shirt and my funeral dress thrown in the washing hamper that was in the bathroom, Michael was sitting up on my bed. He was running a hand through his hair as he looked at me. Michael's hair was shorter on the sides and longer on the top, with some of it hanging in front of his face, so it could get a little messy.

"Good morning." I said as I walked over to him and he smiled at me.

"Morning." He said as he got off the bed and came over to me, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on my lips. "You look better."

"I feel a little better." I said and he smiled.

"I'm glad, but I really need to go to the bathroom." He said and I smiled a little.

"Go ahead. I'll go downstairs and find something for breakfast. If you want to take a quick shower, you know where the towels are." I said.

"I like the sound of that, the breakfast part I mean." He said, before he kissed my cheek and headed out of my open door, while I went over to my discarded bag and grabbed my phone out of it. I figured I should check if I had any missed calls or texts.

I started out of my room and headed for the stairs bare footed while I looked down at my phone, having just turned the volume back on. I had missed calls from Kate from just after seven last night and a text from seven this morning. I went to read my text, but suddenly my phone started ringing.

I hit answer and turned it to speaker in a second, placing it on the bench since it had a great voice range. "Hey Kate."

"Sorry, did I wake you?" She asked, while I looked through the cupboards to find something for breakfast.

"No, I was just about to start making breakfast for Michael and I." I said as I tried to decide what to make.

"Michael stayed that night, did he?" She asked and I shook my head because of her tone.

Michael walked into the kitchen then, wearing a black singlet I assumed was under his black shirt. Apparently, he hadn't wanted a shower. "Yes, I did. We fell asleep once we got to her place and no one woke me up, so I stayed." He said, before looking at me. "Can we have eggs for breakfast?"

I nodded as I went over to the fridge, looking through it for the things I'd need for scrambled eggs, because I knew that was his favorite and I liked them too.

"Glad to hear it. Anyway, back to what I was going to say. Did you see my text Christine?" She asked.

"No, I was just about to read it when you called. What's going on?" I asked her, though it was more like answering the phone, as I handed Michael the eggs, butter and cream from the fridge, since I wanted to make the scrambled eggs with cream instead of milk because we had cream.

"Can you come over to my house, preferably one o'clock? I really need to talk to you about something important." She said and that made me a little worried.

"Yeah, I can be there at least before ten. Are you alright?" I asked, because I had only seen her yesterday and she hadn't wanted to talk then.

"I'm fine. I'll tell you everything when you get here. Bye Christine." She said and she hung up before I could say anything else. Well, I'd have to ask her when I got there.

"Hey, what's going on in here?" Dad asked as he came into the kitchen, while I went into the freezer and grabbed out some bacon. Mom might be a vegetarian, but Dad and I were not, so we got bacon. I refuse to be a vegetarian, I like meat too much, even though there were reasons in my life not to.

"I'm making breakfast, and then I'm going to Kate's." I said as I opened up the packet of bacon, placed it on a plate and put it into the microwave so I could defrost it. I then went and grabbed a large bowl and a small bowl, placing them on the bench. "Is Mom up, because if she is I'll make enough for all four of us?"

"Yeah, she's awake. She still doesn't sleep in enough." Dad said, which didn't surprise me. Mom was often up this early, just because she was used to it. She was 52 years old and my dad, he was 57. (A/N Booth doesn't have a birthday on the wiki, so I'm making it up. Also, I know Michael should have been born earlier since he was born after a snow-storm in the series, but too late to change his and Christine's birthday's now. At least I got the gap right.) Mom would be 53 the start of next year and Dad would turn 58 a few months after.

"Alright then." I said and I started cracking eggs into the big bowl, while throwing the shells into the small bowl.

"Can I help you with anything?" Dad asked and I nodded, pointing to the microwave.

"You can get started on the bacon if you want. You are the best at cooking meat after all." I said and I saw Michael smile from his seat across from me. I was working at the island bench, so he was able to sit on the stool. We were smiling because my dad was always going on about how he was the best at cooking meat.

I went over to the rubbish bin and threw the four egg shells out, before I placed the bowl in the sink and went and grabbed a measuring jug and a whisk, as well as the salt and pepper. I placed them on the island bench and grabbed the cream, filling the measuring cup up until it was 1/3 of the way full. I then added the cream to the eggs, and then seasoned them with salt and pepper before I started whisking them lightly.

"You know, you're getting good at cooking." Dad said from where he was standing and I smiled at him.

"Well, I like cooking, so I was bound to start remembering how to." I said, before I looked at Michael. "Can you grab a pan and cut up 25g's of butter for me?"

"Sure." Michael said as he got off the stool and went to get me what I needed.

By the time Mom got downstairs, there were four plates served up with two pieces of toast and a decent serving of scrambled eggs, while only three of them had bacon on them. Michael and I carried the plates over to the table while Dad made coffee for all four of us.

"Morning Mom." I said with a smile as I walked back over to Dad, grabbing my coffee and Michael's from him, before going back to the table and sitting down beside Michael at the table.

"Who cooked?" Mom asked as she sat down across the table from me, soon followed by Dad.

"Dad and I did. He cooked the bacon while I did the eggs." I said and then I looked at Michael. "Michael put the bread in the toaster."

"I'm so sorry that I'm not the best at cooking." He said. He wasn't lying, cooking was never his strong point. He nearly failed his home economics class, but I had worked with him. He was better at wood shop because he was amazing when it came to building things.

"I wasn't dissing you, it doesn't really matter that you can only cook a few things." I said, because it didn't. Sure, he'd have to learn eventually, but as long as I was with him I'd be doing the cooking.

"Christine, you said you were going to Kate's after breakfast, right?" Dad asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, she called me and said she wanted to talk. I know there's something she hasn't been telling me, so maybe it's about that." I said, because I'd known she wasn't telling me something, for just over a week.

"Hopefully she'll tell you." Mom said. Mom knew how close to Kate I was.

"Yeah, I hope she does." I said, because I knew she couldn't talk to her parents about it. The only two people she could talk to about anything had been Darius and I, and now Darius was gone, which just left me.

Kate's house

As I sat down on Kate's bed I knew there was something wrong, I could tell by the look on her face as she closed the door. I'd come here immediately after breakfast, since my parents had told me they'd clean up and Michael had offered to drive me. I could drive, but I didn't even though my mom had brought me a car - it was sitting in the garage right now. Kate was going to drive me back home later if she was feeling well, and if she wasn't, Michael said I had to call him.

"Okay Kate, what is going on?" I asked her as she sat crossed legged on her queen-sized bed, which made spin around and fold my legs up onto the bed, taking her hands in mine as she looked up at me. "Hey, you know you can tell me anything."

"I know, it's just… I wanted Darius to be the first one to know. I'd been planning on telling him the day after my birthday, but then he was killed and I didn't know what to do. He deserved to know first, especially because I know he loved me more than anything." She said and I looked at her, beginning to work out what she was actually talking about.

"Tell him what Kate?" I asked, in need of clarification, because I didn't want to say what I was thinking in case I was wrong. If I was wrong, it would make things a hell of a lot worse.

"That I'm pregnant." She said as she started crying and I pulled her into my arms, hugging her tightly. I had thought that that's what she was talking about when she said she wanted Darius to know first, but a part of me hadn't wanted it to be true because that would be far too much to deal with, while also a blessing to her.

"Shh, it's okay." I said as I held her.

"I don't know what to do Christine. If I tell my parent's, they're going to lose it." She said as she cried and I went to say something to her, to try and comfort her even though I knew it was true, when suddenly her door opened to reveal her furious father, which made her suddenly sit up and get off the bed. "Dad, I thought you and Mom were out until later."

"Obviously, or else I wouldn't have learnt that my daughter is a little slut." He replied and I got off the bed, standing in front of Kate.

"I think you need to google that word, because it doesn't apply to Kate. Then again, you probably wouldn't even know how to use google because you get everyone else to do your shit for you, so why don't I tell you. The definition is "A woman who has many casual sexual partners" or the more dated definition is "A woman with low standards of cleanliness." Neither of those applies to your daughter." I said in a gritted voice and his face became offended and outraged.

"I think I know what my daughter is like more than you." He said and I glared at him.

"How would you, when you're basically never around? I spend more time with her then you do." I shot back, because screw him. I wasn't going to be told that by a father who is barely ever around, and the same went for her mother.

"That doesn't matter and it also doesn't matter what I call her, she is getting rid of that basted child before anyone else finds out she's pregnant." He said and he was very lucky that I had an F.B.I agent as a father, because I wanted to punch him in the face, but knew I'd probably get charged with assault because he was an asshole. Then again, my father being with the F.B.I would probably get me out of it if I hit him.

"That's not your choice, it's hers." I snapped, because I wasn't going to stand back and let him say that. She just lost Darius, and this baby was all she had left of him. "Also, how much of an asshole can you be, acting this way when she just lost the man she loves?" I demanded.

"That wasn't real love, she's too young to know that word." He said and now I laughed a humorless laugh.

"You don't know jack shit about love then, though that's not that surprising." I replied, because love didn't have an age to it, not when it was real, and normally you could tell when it was real.

"She gets rid of it or she leaves this house for good." He replied and I wasn't going to answer that, even though I already knew what Kate would pick. I looked back at her and saw the fire in her eyes.

"Then I'm leaving, because there's no way I'm getting rid of my baby. It's half Darius and will be his only child, so I'm keeping it and raising it, because it's all I have left of him." Kate said, which I had to smile at because it was the first time she had stood up to her father.

"And where will you go?" He demanded and now I looked back at him, because I knew exactly where she was going to go.

"She'll come stay with me until Darius' parents come back, because unlike you, Darius' parents and my parents actually have hearts." I resorted, because I knew my parents wouldn't have a problem with it when I explained.

"I want you out in an hour." He said before he stormed off, which made me roll my eyes. For an adult, he was such a child.

I turned to look at Kate. "I'm sorry I butted in." I said, but she shook her head.

"Don't be. I've never been able to stand up to my parents and you said what I wanted to say, so I'm glad. I also don't care about leaving, because I'd rather be the mother of a beautiful baby than their daughter." She said with a small smile as she placed her hands on her stomach. "Still, will you help me pack up as much of my stuff as you can?"

"Of course I can." I said, because I wasn't letting her do it alone.

After fifty minutes, we had as much of Kate's stuff as we could have packed up in suit-cases and a few boxes and packed in her car. I'd called Michael and asked him to meet us at my house, without telling him what was going on.

"I'm amazed we fit all my clothes and my most important things in those boxes." She said and I smiled as I took her large handbag from her.

"Yes, now let's get you to my house so you can get some sleep. You look exhausted." I said, because she did. "There will be no protesting, it's not just your life you have to take care of now."

"Yeah, I know. That's why I've been trying to be strong, it's for the baby. Darius would have been the strong parent, but he's gone now, so I have to be. I want this baby to grow up to be as strong and as kind and as good as their father was." She said and I took her hand in mine, smiling at her.

"With you as their mother, there's no way they won't." I said, because I believed this baby would grow up to be an amazing person.

"I just wish I'd told Darius sooner." She said as we started to leave her room.

"I'm sure he knows." I said and she smiled sadly, placing her free hand on her stomach. No matter what happened next, I knew that this was making Darius' death both easier and harder on her.

Christine's house

As I shut the door to the spare room where Kate was sleeping, which had been Parker's room once upon a time, I looked at Michael who was standing in the hall, waiting for an explanation. He'd helped me bring the boxes and suitcases up, since we couldn't leave them in Kate's car until Darius' parents got back, without asking me anything, but I knew he wanted to know. I was going to call Darius' parents for Kate, since I knew this was hard for her.

"Alright, what's going on? I don't believe that Kate would just move out over something small." Michael demanded and I sighed.

"She left because her dad gave her an ultimatum: she moved out or she had to get rid of the baby." I said and his eyes widened considerably. "Yeah, I was shocked too when she told me, but I'm not surprised she did what she did."

"Did Darius know?" He asked and I shook my head.

"No, she was going to tell him the day after her birthday, but that's the day he was killed, so she never got the chance." I said and he ran a hand through his hair, not seeming to know what to say.

"What did her dad say?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"He called her a slut, right after he overheard us talking about it." I said and now Michael seemed pissed. "Don't worry, I gave him hell for it."

Suddenly I heard the front door open then and I looked at the stairs. Well, that would be my parents, Sweets and Daisy, who were coming over for lunch today, their twins being babysat by someone.

"Are you going to tell them?" Michael asked me and I sighed. I didn't really have a choice right now, I couldn't have her stay here and not tell them why she was staying here.

"I have to. I can't have her living here for the next two weeks and not explain to them why she's staying here." I said, before I made my way downstairs, which Michael right behind me.

I went into the kitchen and saw the four of them talking, having not noticed that I was downstairs. They'd know I was here with Michael and they'd know Kate was here too, since her car was here.

"Mom, Dad, I need to talk to you." I said as I entered the kitchen and Mom looked at me.

"What is it, and why are you and Michael back here, with Kate, when you were supposed to be at her house and Michael was supposed to be at home?" Mom asked and I sighed.

"We're here, because Kate needs a place to stay until Darius' parents come back from Hawaii." I said and I think I surprised everyone by saying that.

"Why, what happened when you went over there?" Dad asked.

"Kate's Dad kicked her out of the house because he found out she was pregnant and she refused to get rid of the baby." I explained, because I just wanted them to know so I could get an answer. "So, can she stay?"

"Of course she can Christine." Mom said and I was glad to hear it. "How is she?" Mom asked.

"She doing the best she can, considering she's pregnant and she just lost the guy she loved, right on the day she was planning on telling him that she was pregnant. I can tell she's struggling a bit, but she's trying to stay strong for the baby." I said, because she was handling this all as well as she could right now.

"Do Darius' parents know?" Sweets asked and I shook my head.

"No, I was going to call them later." I said and I saw Dad shake his head.

"I'll call them, you just be there for Kate right now. She's going to need her best friend now more than anything." Dad said and I had to agree with him on that one.

I was planning to stay by her side no matter what happened next, even if it meant I got into fights with people at school. She was my best friend and I wasn't letting her go through this alone.

So guys, now that this big bombshell has been dropped, I thought I'd just give everyone a heads up. I'm going to start trying to skip forward as I go, because I can't keep writing day after day. I think you guys get what I mean - it's going to be like bones, how there's a case and then the next episode will be a week or so later. I want to do more then show Michael and Christine in high school, I want to show them in college and even after that. I'll show all major holidays though.
Also, I don't know who has watched the new season of Bone's, so SPOILER ALERT! Max is unwell, so I'll be adding that in soon, since he is quite old in this, so what's wrong with him in the show, will be happening to him in this soon. As you know, grandparents can't stay around forever, meaning sooner or later I'm gonna' have to do something sad.
Also, Christine does have a car, I just forgot I wrote that in, so I changed that so it was right.
