Michael's Pov

I sat on the bleachers and watched Christine play. This was the championship game, the finals, and so far, it was going okay, but so far it was 3 – 4, and Christine's team was the one on the lower score.

"Come on Christine!" Booth shouted from beside me and Christine got the ball and kicked it straight into the goal, tying it up. "Yes, that's my girl."

"There's not long to go in the match. They're so tied that neither of them has gotten many goals." Brennan said, but that wasn't that strange.

The match kept going and I watched both teams battle for the ball as the time counted down. All our friends had come to watch and they were cheering her on.

Time was running out though, and it was looking like it was going to go to over time. I watched as Christine got shoved and toppled to the ground. The couch blew the whistle then and Christine got up, getting to take the ball. The game continued and I watched as Christine passed the ball to another girl and kept running. The girl kicked the ball at the goal, but it was caught, but as the goalie threw the ball back out Christine stole it and kicked it back towards the goal. The goalie barely missed the ball and it went into the goal, putting Christine's team ahead. Most people would call her a show off, but Christine played fairly and always passed the ball to teammates when she could, but she was just good at soccer.

The game continued with two minutes to go and Christine's team fought to keep ahead, and that's what they did. The siren went off and the crowd on the bleachers supporting our team started to cheer while the team started to celebrate. Christine's team had won the championship.

"Yes!" Booth was cheering and even Brennan was cheering too.

I sat there as the team did a group hug and were rewarded with the trophy for winning. The other team seemed glum, but they still shook hands with our schools' team. They were cheering happily and celebrating, and I heard the coach shout that the pizza was on her. Our girls' team hadn't won it years.

Christine looked over at us then and ran over, and despite the cold she was sweating.

"You did great Christine. You're amazing at sports, just like your dad." Booth said and she smiled. I knew she found it funny every time he said that, but she also loved it 'cause it always meant he was proud of her.

"I agree. You did amazingly Christine." Brennan said.

"Thanks Mom, I can't believe we actually won." Christine said. Christine had never played soccer before in a team setting, so of course she was surprised they'd won.

"You're obviously superior to other members of your team, so without you, I doubt your team would have won." Brennan said. "Though they did do quite well for a team that was only formed this season."

"Well, the school's going to love you now." I said and she rolled her eyes.

"Like I care about that." She said and god, did I love that about her. One thing Christine hadn't gotten from her mother was her need to always be right and be recognized as the best – she just wanted to be herself.

"Hey Christine, hurry up so we can celebrate!" Danika shouted and Christine looked at us.

"Hey, go celebrate with your team. That's the best part after a win." Booth said and she grinned, before kissing my cheek and heading off to join her team again.

Wednesday

It was Wednesday. Today was valentine's day and I had to admit, that I was looking forward to surprising Christine today. I wished it wasn't a school night, but it was so I was going with it. She didn't know what I was planning on doing tonight, mainly because I wanted it to be a surprise. Granted, that drove her mad a bit, but she wasn't pushing me for answers. It helped that the school was glad about the girls soccer team win.

Christine's Pov

As I eat my cereal at the kitchen bench, I wondered just what Michael was planning on tonight. Apparently, I wasn't allowed to know what we were doing for Valentine's day, not that that surprised me. It was Michael after all, not that we had actually had a Valentine's day before, but he had dated before dating me, though not for a long period of time. I'd had guys take interest, but not had a proper date till Michael. A lot of guys got nervous when they

"Hey sweetheart, you going to the hospital today after school?" Dad asked as he came in. Mom had gone into work early today.

Michael and I had decided that we needed to go to the hospital after school now or on the weekend – we still went once a week, but we had to put school first right now, I mean we had the rest of this year and then sometime in the start of the next school year we'd have to apply for college.

"No, we'll go another day." I said, before I looked at him. "Hey Dad, how'd you feel about me getting a part time job?"

He looked at me as he poured his coffee. "I don't have a problem with it, I actually think it might be good and you're smart enough to hold a job and keep up your grades up. Plus, Michael does it, though he only works twice a week." He said. "Your mom might have a problem though."

I sighed. "Hopefully she'll see it as beneficial." I said and he smiled. "What are you and her doing tonight?"

"You know Bones, she doesn't believe in Valentine's day." He said and I looked at him.

"I was asking so I know if, after Michael and I do whatever he's planning, I should go to Kate's." I said and I swear he nearly spit out his coffee. "I'm a teenager Dad, I know about this stuff now and I've definitely heard."

"Yeah, I'm really sorry about that." He said and I smiled.

"I doubt you're that sorry Dad." I said. "So, I'll leave you and Mom alone tonight so you guys can do something here tonight."

"You don't have to do that." He said and I crossed my arms. "Alright, thank you."

"No problem." I said, before getting up and placing my bowl in the sink. "I'll see you tomorrow if I don't see you tonight."

I grabbed my bag and headed outside, surprised to see Michael's truck sitting out the front. It had been fixed, but he was planning to get a new one. I went over and climbed in, looking at him.

"How long have you been out here?" I asked and he shrugged.

"Not long." He said, starting the truck.

"So, gonna tell me what you've got planned?" I asked.

"Not till after school." He said and I rolled my eyes. "Just let me romance you."

I laughed. "You sounded like your dad then, but alright. I'll let you romance me." I said.

We didn't talk much as we drove to school and pulled into the parking lot. I climbed out of the car and as I walked I grabbed the gift I'd gotten him, well, one of them. I thought I should get him something.

"I got you something – well, got and made." I said and he looked at me.

"I'm supposed to get you things." He said and I laughed.

"That's stereotypical and who says only guys can buy gifts." I said, and I saw a gleam in his eyes. "Don't say anything to that, and just open it. I'm sure what I got you isn't as grand as what you got me."

He chuckled and took it from me, opening the box. Inside was an air tight container and he smiled when he saw what was inside. "Mint chocolate brownies, dark chocolate and snickerdoodles. Three of the best foods, and all sweats or junk food. Perfect for Valentine's." He leaned and kissed my cheek. "Thank you, I'll enjoy all of it, but I have something for you now too."

He placed the box in the truck and grabbed out a heart shape box of chocolates and a small white teddy bear.

"I couldn't resist the cliché." He said and I laughed, taking them from him.

"Well, lucky for you, I'm not my mom and I love it." I said, moving to kiss his cheek. I was going to enjoy the chocolate. "But, we should get to class."

"Let's go." He said, grabbing the container with the treats I'd made him in it before shutting the door, and after he put it in his bad he noticed me looking. "What, I'm not waiting till after school to eat this."

I just smiled and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder as we walked towards the school building. I was still holding my presents and I was rather happy, and I wasn't the only one – there were others giving out gifts inside and the school was decorated with love hearts. We had to sperate to go to our lockers and I saw Kate standing at hers, which was right next to mine. We'd had lockers next to each other since we started high school.

"Hey." I said and she turned to look at me, before noticing what I was holding.

"Oh, how cute. Michael's embracing the cliché I see." She said as I opened my locker and put them inside, along with my bag.

"Seems so, but I love it." I said, and then I took out the bag of chocolates that I had brought her. "Here, these are for you."

Tears appeared in her eyes. "Oh, you didn't have to." She said, smiling as she did.

"Of course I did." I said, knowing the tears were just her hormones. She just hugged me, though carefully. "If you wanna thank me though, you can tell me if you have a name for bubs. I know you want the gender to be a surprise for everyone else, but I've started making presents and brought one. I've already discussed a gift with Amanda, but I need a name for it and the other."

She pulled away. "Her first name is Isabelle. I'm going to call her Isabelle. Darius loved the name." She said and I smiled.

"Alright, I can work with that." I said. I was making a baby book, or at least the outside of one and the inside was beautiful.

"So, have you and Michael got any plans tonight?" She asked.

"Well, he does, but it's a secret till later." I told her and she rolled her eyes.

"That's not what I meant." She said as I grabbed my books, pencil case and tablet.

"Then what did you…" I trailed off as I caught on to what she was talking about. "Kate!"

"What, you two have been together for months – well over half a year. It'd be normal if you'd thought about it." She said and I shook my head, trying not to blush as we hadn't slept together, but I had thought about it. "See, you have."

"Oh, be quiet." I said and she was smiling, the bag of chocolates I'd given her still in her hands. "Let's get to class."

"Christine's embarrassed." Kate sung and I rolled my eyes, deciding not to engage her or say something back to that, 'cause then we'd never stop.

"I'm ignoring that, and instead asking if I can come sleep at your house tonight after Michael and I do whatever he has planned. I wanna give Mom and Dad some privacy, just in case." I said and she looked at me.

"Well, I don't mind and Amanda won't, so I don't see why not." She said, but then she started smiling. "Though, I am hoping that you won't have to and you'll just spend the night with Michael, so I'll lie if your parents ask, if you do stay there."

"Sometimes, you're impossible." I said and she just kept smiling.

"I know, but that's why you love me." She said. When it came to these things, Kate never gave up, and losing Darius hadn't changed that.

As Michael was driving me home, I was eating some more of my chocolate's, having eaten quite a few at lunch, causing Michael to shake his head.

"Eat the rest later, or you're going to spoil dinner." He said and I looked at him.

"Dinner?" I asked and he nodded.

"I was going to cook, but I'm still not that good and have to learn, so I'm taking you out." He said and I continued to look at him. "Don't worry, it's not too expensive, but dress nice. But, also bring a warm jacket." He said as he pulled up at my house.

"Alright, thought I think I've said before that I don't need to go out for dinner for a good date." I said, not that I didn't appreciate it. I did.

"It's valentine's day, so just let me do what I planned for today. I promise it's not really fancy." He said and I nodded. "I'll be back before six to get you."

"Okay." I said, leaning over and kissing his cheek before I grabbed my bag and climbed out of the truck.

I heard him drive off as I went over to the house and unlocked the door, going in. No one was home, so I went upstairs. I put my bag in my room and did some of my homework as I had a bit of time to kill before I needed to start getting ready, then, when it was time, I headed for the bathroom. I was going for a shower before this date tonight, just because I felt like I should.

I went into the bathroom and climbed into the shower, starting it up. I washed over my body, but avoided washing my hair because I'd washed it yesterday and wanted to avoid using a hairdryer, so it was tied up on my head in a bun. I washed my body and did everything I had to do. I then climbed out and dried my body of, before walking out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around me and to my bedroom. I shut my door and went to take the towel off.

That's when Dad started talking as he opened my door. "Hey Christine, have you seen…"

"Dad!" I shouted as I wrapped my towel back around me and he covered his eyes. I was blushing, 'cause that had been close.

"Wow, I'm sorry. I didn't see anything." He said, not removing his hand from his eyes. "I didn't know you had just gotten out of the shower."

"Obviously." I said, making sure the towel was tight around me. "Now what were you going to ask, before you came in without knocking?"

"Bones left a file here about some ancient bones she's identifying. She asked me to come get it, but I can't work out where it is." Dad said and I sighed.

"Only Mom would not care about working on Valentines." I said. "Last time I saw it, she was reading in the living room last night."

"Thanks. I'll leave you to… get ready for your date." Dad said awkwardly as he shut my door, leaving the room. I was embarrassed too, but that had been a little funny.

I went over to my wardrobe and looked through it – I didn't have any long dresses, but had some long sleeve. I found what I wanted to wear and grabbed it out. I pulled on black stockings, for a bit of protection against the cold and a white, long sleeved V-neck dress that sat at my knees. I pulled on black heels and went over to my vanity. I brushed out my hair and tied it half up, half down and slipping a white flower where it was tied up. I did my make-up and put earrings in before I got up, grabbed my purse, my school bag and an overnight bag for Kate's, just in case, and my jacket, and headed downstairs. Dad was still looking around for Mom's file, I guess.

"Still haven't found it?" I asked and Dad turned to look at me.

"Wow, you look… you look lovely." Dad said and I smiled.

"Thanks Dad." I said, before placing my jacket and purse down. "Need a hand?"

"If you don't mind. I can't find this file your mother is talking about. I'd think she took it with her to work, but we both know she's not the kind to make that mistake." Dad said and I felt sorry for him sometimes.

I walked into the living room and looked around, trying to find the file. I slipped off my heels and got down on my knees, looking under the arm chair mom had been reading in last night and then I looked under the couch next to it, which is where the file was. I reached under the couch and pulled it out, before standing up.

"Found it." I said and I handed it to Dad.

"Thanks, now hopefully she'll actually leave the lab at a decent time." Dad said and I smiled.

That's when a horn sounded, Michael's horn.

"You and Michael go enjoy tonight." Dad said and I kissed his cheek.

"See you tomorrow Dad." I said and I grabbed my purse, bags and jacket, before heading out of the house, hoping Mom and Dad would celebrate today, despite Mom's thoughts on the holiday.

I saw Michael's truck, which he was leaning against. He was wearing a black button up shirt, a nice jacket and nice slacks. He had roses in his hands and I noticed that the cover was over the bed of his truck for once.

"You look beautiful." He said, handing me the roses.

I had a bright smiled on my face at that. Even when he had pissed me off in the past, when he'd teased me and played pranks, I'd always thought of Michael as lovable and a great guy.

"Thank you." I said as I climbed into the car door he had opened for me, putting my bags in the back.

As we arrived at the restaurant I looked at Michael.

"If you had of told me it was Italian restaurant, I wouldn't have worn white." I said as we walked in.

It was a beautiful small restaurant that had a warm feeling to it. It was lit with warm lighting and candles and was playing soft music.

"I'm not going to say anything to that, as I don't want to jinx it." Well, he had always believed in jinxes.

We were seated at a table and as I looked at the menu, I realized he wasn't lying. They were expensive meals, they were decently priced.

"Hi, can I get you guys something to drink?" The waiter asked.

"I'll have a coke." I said.

"Make that two." Michael said and she nodded.

I read the menu and even though I was tempted to have cannelloni, I chose the Fettuccine Pollo e Avocado, which was fettuccine, lean chicken pieces cooked in a cream sauce with sliced avocado and freshly grated parmesan.

"You know what you want?" Michael asked me.

"I'm tempted to get the Cannelloni, but I think I'm going to get the Fettuccine Pollo e Avocado." I said and he smiled.

"Well, you can try some of my Cannelloni, as that's what I'm getting." He said and I laughed.

"What, no pizza or meat?" I asked and he rolled his eyes.

"I love meat, but it's not all I eat." He said.

When the waiter came back, Michael and I ordered our meals and then talked about many things as we waited for it to arrive. It didn't take long for them to get to us and the food looked amazing. I twirled the pasta around my fork and ate it, and god, was it good.

"Is it good?" Michael asked and I nodded my head.

"It really is." I said, before getting some on my fork with some chicken and holding it out to him. "Try."

He leaned forward and ate it, and while I pulled the fork away he smiled. "You're right, that is good." He said, before cutting a piece of one of his cannelloni and put it on his fork, holding it out to me. "Try this."

I leant forward and ate it, and it was just as good. It was so well cooked and tasted amazing. I wasn't sure which one I liked more. "That's good too. I think I love this place."

"Well, we'll have to come here again." Michael said and I smiled.

"I'm fine with that. We both know I love Italian food." I said. "I just feel sorry for my dad today. Before I left, he and Mom had no plans – he was looking for a work folder she needed. I'm hoping they actually go do something."

"Luckily for me, Mom and Dad went away for the night. They always celebrate this holiday, but I'm glad they went away. They deserve to have some time away." Michael said and I smiled at him.

"Plus, there's us, and Angela sees everything." I said and Michael nodded his head. "I've always wondered how they feel about us."

"What do you mean exactly, 'cause Mom has been frilled since we got together?" Michael asked as I twirled my pasta with my fork.

"My mother and your mother are best friends. From what Angela's said, she called Mom aunty when she was pregnant with you. Angela's my godmother, and I'm named after her." I said. "I just wonder how weird they find our relationship."

"They probably don't, but I get the thought. I've wondered it too, and it's not like it wasn't weird for us in the beginning. Childhood friends to boyfriend and girlfriend is a… hard transition, even if you are in love." He said and I laughed, though it wasn't a funny laugh.

"Yeah, I remember." I said, before chuckling. "But it works, and they trust us more because we grew up together."

Now he chuckled. "Yeah, but I really wish my mother would stop wondering if we've slept together. Even today, she asked me if we had any plans and I'm sure she wasn't talking about our date plans."

"You could have my mom. Not too long ago, she asked me, in front of Dad, if we were having sexual intercourse." I said and he laughed, which made me glad he wasn't eating when I told him that.

"That sounds like her." He chuckled.

We sat there eating after that, joking and laughing. I had to admit it, I was loving it.

"That was amazing." I said as we finished and I looked at him. "Do you wanna get dessert?"

"Not here." He said and I raised an eyebrow.

"What are you planning, because this is amazing already?" I asked and he smiled.

"I'm not going to spoil it." He said.

He flagged down the waited and even though I asked to help pay, he wouldn't let me. I was going to argue, but I didn't want to ruin tonight by arguing with him. So, I let him pay, and then he helped me into my jacket as we got up to leave. We climbed into his truck and listened to music as he drove us to wherever he was taking me. We drove for a little while and came to an empty parking lot near a park, making me look at him questionably. He climbed out and I followed, watching as he took the cover off the bed of his truck, which revealed some padding, pillows and a blanket, and there was also a basket.

"Michael." I said, smiling happily and he shrugged.

"You said you wanted to look up at the stars, so that's what we're going to do." He said and I just kept smiling. It was kinda great, falling in love with my childhood friend, 'cause he knew me so well.

He climbed into the bed of the truck and helped me up, helping me take off my heels while I sat down, not that I asked him to. He pushed up the pillows and we laid against them, and he pulled the blanket over us, as I was a bit cold. It was still winter after all. I rested near him and I watched as he grabbed the basket, pulling out strawberry covered chocolates and caramel slice bites. I wanted to laugh a little at the clichés that he was pulling out, but I decided not to because I loved the clichés. He held out one of the strawberries for me to eat, which I did, and that's when I noticed a jeweler's box in the basket and looked at him questionably.

"Michael, please tell me you didn't spend more money on me." I said and he grabbed the box.

"I did, but don't worry, I didn't spend a lot. I know you'd kick my ass, as you don't think gifts are the most important thing in the world, and like things like I'm doing now, but Kate hit me and said I had to get you something, so I had a good idea." He said and he opened the box. Inside was a silver heart locket, and I loved it. I took it, and opened it, and inside was a small picture of him and me, and had M + C engraved on the other side of the inside.

I leaned forward and kissed him, which he returned. "I love it." I said, pulling away from him. "You're an amazing boyfriend."

We went back to eating after that and laid back, pointing out the constellations. I loved stargazing and was so glad that he had brought me out here tonight. I mean yeah, it was a school night, but right now, I didn't care if I spent the whole night out here, looking up at the stars.

As Michael led me into his house, it felt weird being here so late with no one else being around. Normally, I wouldn't be. I had my heels in my hand as Michael placed my bags in the family room, so I put my heels beside them.

"I made up the spare bed, just in case you wanted to stay tonight – I knew it might be late, so despite you thinking about going to stay with Kate, I wanted to make it easier for you and her." He said and I smiled at him. The entire night I had been thinking about something, something I knew he'd probably thought about too, and I had decided that I wanted to – what Kate said this morning had kinda made my thoughts more prominent.

"I do, but not in the spare bed." I said and he looked at me, seeming a bit taken aback by my words.

"I don't think I get what you're…" I got on my tippy toes and kissed him firmly, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and he wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing me back just as strongly for a moment before he pulled away. "Oh. Are you sure Christine? We can wait."

Obviously, he'd realized that I wanted to take the next step with him and have sex. "I always thought that I'd be in a relationship for a year or two, and at least be eighteen before I slept with anyone, so I knew I could trust them enough and that it was the right choice, especially with my parents, not that Dad was a saint in high school. But, with you, I know it's right."

He smiled. "I don't want you to regret this." He said.

"No matter what happens in the future, I won't regret this, 'cause I know you love me." I said and I could see the love in his eyes.

"I won't argue with that." He said and he leant down and kissed me again, though this time, it was with passion.

He moved his hands down my body slowly and before I could register what he was doing, he picked me up in his arms swiftly, causing me to squeal. He carried me through the house as he continued to kiss me, only putting me back on my feet when we reached his bedroom. He shut his door and lightly pushed me against it, slipping his tongue into my mouth, which I let him do.
I kept my hands around his neck as we continued to kiss, his hands on my waist, his fingers squeezing. I moved my hands down the front of his chest, unbuttoning his shirt as I went down, having to feel my way when undoing them because I didn't want to stop kissing him. I managed to get them all undone and slid his shirt off, feeling his muscles under my hands as I moved back to his chest. He turned me around and sat me on the edge of the bed, kneeling to pull off my stockings, making me blush as his fingers moved against my thighs.

He looked up at me and moved to kiss me again, pulling me to my feet again as I ran my fingers through his hair, noticing that it was getting longer. His hands moved to my back and he pulled the zipper on the back of my dress down, causing me to shiver his fingers brushed my back, before pausing one more time and pulling away to look at me.

"Chris, are you 100% sure about this?" He asked and I smiled.

"The fact that you keep asking me is why I am." I said and he smiled down at me.

He moved my dress down and it fell to the floor, leaving me standing in just my underwear. He stood there, just looking for a moment, before he picked me up and placed me on the bed, moving to rest his body above mine, leaning down to kiss my neck, while his hands explored my body, causing me to moan.

What followed, after a lot of making out, started with some pain, before it turned into a lot of pleasure. I'd been told that most first times were not all that good, and I wasn't an expect, but it definitely wasn't bad. It was amazing, absolutely amazing. I was beginning to understand why people said that you had to have sex to understand why people enjoyed it so much. It had not been bad or awkward like I had thought it might've been.

I was now lying beside Michael in his bed and he was running his hand through my hair, while I rested against his chest. We were both slightly sweaty, but I didn't care.

"You okay." He asked and I turned to lay on his chest so I could look at him.

"A little sore, but I am definitely okay." I said with a smile.

"I'm glad." He said. "We really need to get some sleep for school tomorrow though."

I shrugged. "I don't really mind losing sleep, at least not when it's because we slept together." I said and he smiled, which is when I yawned, causing him to chuckle.

"Neither do I, but we're both tired, so let's get some sleep." He said, pulling the blanket up more to cover our bodies more.

I curled up beside him and enjoyed the warmth beside me as I shut my eyes. Tonight had been amazing, but we needed sleep.

Hey guys, another update for you all. I only did a very light lemon in this. I had thought about doing an actual one, but chose not to for now. Hope you guys enjoy. Also, I am considering going back and editing some chapters, as there's some things I'd like to tweak a little, but haven't decided yet.
