Sorry that it's taken me so long to upload guys. I've had a lot on and a severe case of writers block, which has led me to add something in now that I intended to add in later. I've also been kinda focused on writing my books, stressed with finding work and other life difficulties. Still, hopefully the next chapter I write won't take me as long to write and get out.

Christine's Pov

As I made my way out of class, I sighed. We had to pair up to do a history project in teams of two, but the teacher had randomly selected our pairs so we couldn't pick the people we'd normally pick (I would have picked Michael in a heartbeat) I was paired up with a boy in class called Johnny who thankfully wasn't a slacker and seemed happy about the assignment. Michael was put with the new girl, Sofia, who'd only started a few days ago and she seemed more that pleased to be partnered with Michael.

It'd been just over a week since Valentine's day, making it two weeks on Wednesday, which had been amazing, so didn't want to act jealous because Sofia seemed to like Michael. I knew he loved me, so I was not going to go around being a jealous girlfriend. Did I like that they'd have to spend the next week together, no, but I'd suck it up.

"Hey." Michael said, catching up to me. "So, we may have to cancel our plans today. I'm going to have to go to the library to study with Sofia."

I sighed. "It's alright, it's a school assignment after all. Not like you can ignore it. We can go to the movies another day." I said. Sure, I wanted to see the movie, but I wasn't going to make a fuss. We could always go tomorrow.

He leaned over and kissed the side of my head. "You're the best girlfriend in the world."

"You know it." I said.

"What are you and your partner doing?" Michael asked me.

"We're going to meet up tomorrow at lunch to work out what historic event we're going to do our project on. Johnny has work after school at his dad's shop after school today." I said and Michael smiled.

"Well, the assignment won't be too hard. We have to do a joint paper on whatever historic event we choose, which has to take place before the 2000s and see if we can find newspaper articles from the time if they exist and photos." Michael said and he was right, it wasn't too hard.

"You forgot the 'no copying off Wikipedia' rule." I said and he chuckled. "You'd think people would've stopped doing that by now."

"Yeah, you'd think that'd be over by now, but people are just lazy." Michael said.

"Well, as long as we do well, that's all that matters." I said. "Still, I kinda wish we were partners."

"So do I, but I think the teacher wanted to mix things up. She's better than our last history teacher." Michael said and I smiled. Yeah, she definitely was.

"She definitely is." I said as we reached my locker. "You should go and meet up with your history partner."

"I really am sorry that our movie date was ruined." He said and I rolled my eyes and kissed him on the lips.

"For the last time, it's fine." I said and he smiled.

"Michael?" I heard a girl call and I turned me head to see Sofia standing there.

"I'm coming Sofia." Michael called, before kissing my cheek. "See ya tomorrow Chris."

"See ya." I said, watching as he took off over to Sofia.

I couldn't say that I wasn't a little disappointed that we couldn't go to the movies, because I really had been looking forward to it since we'd decided to go see the movie I really wanted to see, but I couldn't be annoyed because it wasn't by choice.

I grabbed my bag out of my locker once I'd put my books back and made my way out of the school, heading for my car, which I was so glad I'd driven to school today despite our plans. I climbed in and sat there for a minute, wondering what I was going to do now. I'd told Mom and Dad that I'd be out slightly late, but back before curfew, but now I didn't know what to do. Kate was busy and so were my other friends. In the end, I decided to drop past the lab as I'd been wanting to talk to Angela. I wanted to ask her opinion on Kate's baby shower present.

- Line Breaker -

I arrived at the lab to see Angela painting. Obviously, they weren't very busy right now, so it was the perfect time.

"Angela?" I asked and she looked up.

"Christine, what are you doing here? I thought you was going out to see a movie with Michael." She asked and I sighed.

"Well, we kinda got slammed with a surprise history project today and didn't get each other as partner's, so he has to study with his partner and work out what historic event they're going to choose, so we've had to put our movie night on hold." I explained and she sighed.

"Well, that explains why you sound a little disappointed." She said as she placed down her palette and brush. "So, why are you here?"

"I actually wanted your opinion on something." I admitted. "I mean, you're the only person I know who loves art just as much as I do."

"Well then, of course I can offer an opinion." She said, standing up. "Let's sit on the couch."

I followed her over to the couch and as we sat down, I pulled the baby book I'd made for Kate. It'd been hard to make, but I wanted to make something truly unique. Also, I knew Kate was girly, so I made a pink studded cover, which had a diamond style.

"I made this for Kate, and I kinda wanted to see what you thought." I admitted and handed her the baby book.

"You made this by hand?" She asked and I nodded.

"Well, the cover, yeah. The pages were more like made graphically on a computer." I said and Angela looked at me.

"It's amazing Christine, and so beautiful. I think Kate is going to love it." Angela said, before running her hand over the name. "So, Kate's having a little girl?"

"Yeah, but don't tell her I told you." I said and Angela smiled as she opened the first page of the book. "I haven't written anything in it, as I wanna leave that to Kate, but I did add a photo of Kate and Darius."

"You did write something." Angela pointed out.

"What are you two doing?" Cam asked as she came into the room with my mother.

"Christine was asking me for my opinion on the baby book she made for Kate and her daughter. Here, you have to listen to this." Angela said, obviously referring to the message I had written for Isabelle. "To my god daughter Isabelle. I'm writing this before you've even been born, and I know you won't read this until you're older, but know that you are so loved. When you come into this world, you will have a wonderful mother who loves you more than anything and grandparents, an uncle and an aunt who adore you, but your father won't be there. Your father Darius was an amazing man, who, in his short life, touched a lot of people's hearts. He was kind, caring and passionate and always tried to do the right thing. He loved football and had big dreams, and was the best friend you could ever ask for. But more importantly, he loved your mother – they were young, no doubt, but they had a love that people dream of – and he would have adored you. I never want you to think he wouldn't have, because your father Darius would have been an amazing father, and I wish he'd had the chance to be. Still, always remember that you are loved, and that family doesn't always have to be blood, while blood doesn't always have to be family. Never let anyone tell you how you can live and what you can dream – be yourself Isabelle, always and forever. Love, your godmother, Christine."

"Christine, that's beautiful." Cam said, coming over and looking down at the book.

"I agree. You must have put a lot of work into this to make it. I've been wondering what you've been working on." Mom said and I smiled.

"Well, I wanted Kate and Isabelle to have something one of a kind. I already told Amanda what I was making, so she's making sure Kate doesn't go get one, claiming that she wants to buy it." I said, which I was happy about.

"Wait, so you made all of this. Even the page's inside?" Cam asked as she looked at the book with Mom.

"Yeah. I used a computer program to design the backgrounds and pictures and then printed it out." I explained.

"You really are good with computer's Christine, and with art. I can barely draw with pencil and paper, yet you can do it graphically." Cam said.

"Maybe you and Angela should start spending some more time together. You obviously love art as much as she does." Mom said and I was kinda surprised that she said that.

"Well, I wouldn't mind doing the same thing with you Mom. I mean, museum's have many things to look at, which both you and I can enjoy." I said, before I looked at Angela. "Though I would love to talk about art with you."

"Well then, why don't you three plan a girl's day out." Cam suggested.

"I actually love the sound of that." Angela said.

"So do I." Mom said, kinda surprising me because we didn't spend a lot of time together lately. "What about you Christine?"

"I'm 100% up for it." I said, because of course I was. "We could go this weekend."

"As long as nothing comes up, I'd say we have a plan for this weekend." Angela said, before looking back at me. "This won't mess with your history assignment, will it?"

"No, of course not. It's only Monday now, so there's lots of time." I said, which is when my phone went off. I took it out of my bag and looked at the text.

Hey, you don't happen to still have my I-pad do you?

I looked down in my bag and saw that, yes, I did have it. I'd fixed a program issue on it for Michael and forgotten to give it back.

"Oh, whoops. I've got to meet up with Michael." I said, standing up and taking the baby book from Angela, putting it back in it's bag and grabbing my school bag.

"Didn't you say he was studying with his history partner?" Angela asked.

"Yes, but I have to give him back his I-pad." I admitted.

"Make sure you're home for dinner if you're not going out with Michael." Mom said as I headed out of the room.

"Will do Mom." I said.

As I walked, I dialed Michael's number and I have to admit, he answered quick.

"Hey, I have your I-pad. I can bring it to you now – I'm actually heading to my car now." I said before he could even speak.

"Thank you such much Chris. Normally, I'd just get it off you tomorrow but it's has my work schedule on it and it's the only device that I don't have synced." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"How many times have I told you to sync it to your others Michael? Also, how many times have I told you not to delete important emails?" I asked him, because I knew how many time's I'd told him.

"Yeah, I know, I know." He said. "Scold me later."

"Don't worry, I will." I promised and he chuckled.

"I don't doubt it. Sofia and I are now at the public library." He told me.

"Got it. I'll be there soon." I said and then I hung up the phone. No point talking for ages when I was going to see him soon.

- Line Breaker -

I arrived at the public library, knowing exactly which one Michael had meant because I knew him so well, and headed inside. It wasn't too hard to find them – I heard a giggling voice that said Michael and followed it to find Sofia laughing at something Michael had said, her hand on his arm. Michael was smiling, but when he saw me his smile got bigger and he immediately got out of his seat.

"Hey, thank you so much for bringing me my I-pad. You're the best girlfriend ever." He said and I just rolled my eyes, taking it out of my bag and handing it to him.

"That's twice you've said that to me today, but it's not that big of a deal." I said. However, I noticed that Sofia didn't have a pleased look on her face. "Hey Sofia, are you two making progress?"

She smiled at me and it seemed real, but I was kinda certain it wasn't. "Yeah, we are. Michael's so amazing that we're moving really quickly."

"Well, I'm not surprised, he's always been amazing." I said with a smile as Michael had been my best friend for years, long before he was my boyfriend.

However, that look I got from Sofia kinda surprised me. She kinda looked annoyed, but as Michael turned around again, she smiled. Okay, I was under the assumption that she definitely liked my boyfriend, but that was a little overboard.

"Do you wanna stay here? I'm sure you can always read and then we can go out for dinner later." Michael said, but before I could say a word, Sofia spoke.

"Michael, I'm sure she doesn't want to just stay here and read while we work. And besides, there's no telling when we'll finish and I figured we could just get dinner afterwards. I was going to shout you some takeaway of your choosing." She said and I had to clench my jaw. I wasn't blind to her point or feelings; however, I trusted my boyfriend and right now they had to do a project together.

"I probably should head home and leave you two to study." I admitted. "After all, we can spend time together tomorrow or the next day, or any other day. Bonus of us dating." I said with a smile, trying to ignore the girl sitting at the table.

"We will have our movie date soon, I promise." He said.

"I know." I said and I kissed him on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"See ya." He said and I waved at Sofia as I left.

Obviously, she wasn't my biggest fan, but I wasn't giving her any more reason to not like me. Did I like leaving her with my boyfriend, hell no, but all that mattered was that I trusted him and he'd never do that.

- Line Breaker -

I arrived home to find Dad sitting on the couch, I was kinda tired. I was still rather disappointed that I hadn't gotten to go to a movie and dinner with Michael like we'd planned, and annoyed he had to spend time with Sofia, but I had to be a big girl and just suck it up because that's how things were.

"Hey honey, I thought you were going out with Michael." Dad said as I dumped my bags on the floor carefully and walked over to the couch.

"Yeah, we were supposed to, but a surprise history project kinda ruined that plan. We didn't get each other as partners either, so now he's studying at the library with his partner Sofia." I said as I grabbed my guitar from beside the couch.

"Alright, I've never heard you sound so annoyed before." Dad said as he sat forward. "Has Michael done something wrong?"

"No, of course he hasn't." I said and that's when he sighed.

"So, it's Sofia you have a problem with then." Dad said and I looked up from my guitar to look at him.

"I didn't say that. I didn't even say I was annoyed." I said and he chuckled.

"Kiddo, I'm your dad. You didn't need to say anything for me to guess. I know it's not like you to get this annoyed over plans being ruined 'cause of school, so I know it has to do with this girl." He said and I sighed.

"It's not like I have a problem with her, I just don't like how she looked at Michael." I admitted.

"So, you're jealous." He said and I groaned.

"I wish you wouldn't say it like that." I said, but then I sighed. "But I guess that your probably right."

"Of course I am kiddo." He said as he got up and came over to sit by me. "We all get jealous sometimes. There were a few times were I was jealous of the men your mother was around or dating, though please never tell her that."

I chuckled at that. "I promise I won't, and I know it's normal. I also know that Michael would never, in a trillion years cheat on me, so I don't actually have anything to worry about, but that still doesn't make my like Sofia's obvious interest in him."

"All you need to know is that Michael wouldn't go there, which you do, so that's all that matters." He said and I sighed.

"Yeah, I know." I said, fiddling with my guitar as he ruffled my hair.

"Good, then why don't you play something while I start cooking dinner. Your mother should be home soon." Dad said and I looked at me.

"Would you like me to sing too?" I asked and he chuckled.

"I don't mind, just choose a good song." He said.

"Deal. One day though, I promise to sing and play Hot blooded." I said and now he smiled.

"I can't wait to hear that one kiddo." He said.

I sat the for a moment, thinking of what to play, before I decided on Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. (Madilyn Bailey's version of this song is what I was listening to when I picked this. She does an acoustic guitar version and is a Youtube artist.)

I'm waking up to ash and dust
I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
I'm breathing in the chemicals

I'm breaking in, I'm shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

I raise my flags, don my clothes
It's a revolution, I suppose
We'll paint it red to fit right in
Whoa

I'm breaking in, I'm shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
This is it, the apocalypse
Whoa

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

All systems go, the sun hasn't died
Deep in my bones, straight from inside

I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones
Enough to make my systems blow
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

As I finished singing, I noticed that my mother had come home and was taking off her shoes at the door.

"Nice song choice. I don't think I've ever heard it that way before." Dad said from the kitchen and I smiled.

"Well, a lot of songs can be made acoustic and I like this one, so I learnt how to play it." I admitted. Actually, Michael had taught me to play it.

"You seem to be quite talented at it. I'm glad you brought a guitar of your own. Also, I don't say it a lot, but you have a beautiful voice Christine." Mom said and I smiled at her.

"Thanks Mom." I said, as I liked it when she acknowledged my other talents, not just my academic grades, which of course I knew were important.

I watched as she went over to Dad to help him cook dinner, while I placed my guitar back down. I really was lucky to have such amazing parents.

"Christine, wanna give me a hand?" Dad asked and I smiled.

"Coming." I said, getting off the couch and heading into the kitchen to help.
