Last Chapter…

"Hey guys! I need some-" the voice paused, half dropping the near unconscious Diego when he saw who was standing in the living room. Ris stared at the boy, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"Ris."
"Five."

Ris had imagined when she would see him again: most of those memories did involve her running to him, wrapping her arms around him and hugging him as hard as she could. Then releasing him and giving a good yelling at.

They involved her being happy or at least content to see him, she expecting some anger, but not this.

She felt nothing.

Empty.
Cold.

An oddly enough, highly aware that Elliott was half cowering behind her. She could practically feel him shaking. The initial smile that wanted to come out, disappeared as she remembered the bleeding Diego.

Maybe she was in shock.

"Elliott stop being such a sissy and help him. Leila, Lila get something hot, something gauze or cloth." Ris instructed, breaking the silence as she rolled up her sleeves; snapping out of her brief daze.

She could bother with her feelings later. Compartmentalise. That's all she had to do.

They all stared at her, unmoving. "Come on, he's going to bleed out!" Ris snapped. Lila was the first to move, disappearing down the hall.

"And water and Ibuprofen!" she added, half-turning, before looking back at Diego, Five and Elliott.

"Put him here." she said, bending down clearing up the couch. Five rushing over helping her as Elliott carried Diego over setting him down gently.

Lila appearing with a few of the things she needed. "Got the cloth, something hot," she said, waving the cloth in her hands. "The water, the gauze, but what the hell is Ibuprofen?"

"It's like Advil, Motrin, Nuprin, but even some Panadol or Tylenol will do." Ris said, taking the things, handing Five the cloth. "Apply pressure." she said calmly.

Five blinking a few times, before nodding his head, applying pressure to Diego's stomach. This was probably the quietest he had been in a while.

Ris could almost laugh. Least she knew she could still take his breath away. Mostly due to giving him a few good heart attacks once in a while.

Good for the blood.

Ris ripped open the packet of gauze, taking the other cloth and leaving it in the water.

At least she was right. It was (as usual) one of those nights.

"Ahh!" Diego screamed snapped Ris out of her concentration. "Jeez, Diego!" Ris said, turning to the now awake man.

"Relax, you're alright. Now shut up, you'll wake the neighbours." she said, setting down piece of gauze she was using to patch up Five's cut. "Not deep, that's good." she mumbled, getting up walking to the kitchen.

"Shh! Don't move. This thing is very finicky." Lila said (in her neat British accent), seeming to catch Ris brainwave. "What happened?" Diego cried out, Ris reappearing with a glass of water and a few tables.

"You got stabbed, we saved for life, Lila's cauterizing your wound, I'm handing you some pain medication." Ris said dryly handing the glass of water and tablets. Diego looked up at her wide-eyed. "Ris?"

"Yeah, I'm back. Hi! Tablets. Take them." Ris said, emptying them into his hand. Lila paused, waiting until he took them. Diego swallowed the pills down harshly. Ris taking the glass setting it down on the table.

Before turning back to him, pushing him down hard on the couch. "Lie still." she instructed, turning attention back to Five, who was watching in silence.

He was almost reaching an hour.
She got him good.

"Uh, hey, how about a little gratitude, knife boy. If it wasn't for us," Lila said gesturing between her and Ris. "You'd be dead. That's twice now, by the way."

"Where are my clothes? The hell happened to my clothes?" Diego shouted, fidgeting.

Ris sighed, dabbing the last bit of rubbing alcohol on Five's cut. "Want me to put a plaster on it?" she asked, holding one out. Deciding to ignore the chaos Diego was causing.

"I said, don't move!" Lila shouted back. The sound of sizzling and Diego's shouts almost drowning her voice for letting out a soft moan. Passing out from the pain.

"I should never have given her that." Ris mumbled, glancing at Lila from the corner of her eyes (who was grinning happily at his silence). "That's my bad…So plaster?" she said, waving the white plaster around.

"Any Billy the Choo-Choo?" Five joked, making Ris grin. "Unfortunately, for you, future boy you're a decade too early." she replied, giving him a small smile. "No plaster?"

"I'm good." Five mumbled, noticing Lila grinning in their direction. Ris nodded bending down, putting the plaster back. Five taking this opportunity to make a face at Lila.

Ris got up, playing with her fingers, rocking on the balls of her feet. "I'm gonna go check on Elliott, make sure he stopped puking in the bathroom."

Elliott was pretty calm (not really, but at least handing better than most) the crazy of the Hargreeves family and Ris. But when a bleeding man with a stab wound began dripping on his carpets, he wasn't so calm.

The second he put Diego down, he threw up in the trashcan and since then has remained the bathroom.

"You alright there El?" Ris asked, knocking on the door. Slowly poking her head in through the bathroom door (regretting it instantly). It smelled so bad. "Yeah…" he croaked out, lifting his head.

He looked pale and beads of sweat her leaking from his face. Ris licked her lips, unsure of how to reply to that. "Well, take it slow. Okay? Get some sleep." she said gently.

Reaching in unable to resist giving him a small pat on the shoulder.

She quite liked her Elliott.

"Got you some coffee," Five said, setting the mug down on the table. "Thanks." Ris murmured, glancing up at Diego.

11:12pm.
Five and Ris.

It was quiet, peaceful with the only sound being the kettle and Five's light, but even weighted footsteps. She had to pinch herself thrice to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Or having a mass hallucination.

Ris glanced up at the snoring Diego. She and Lila had stopped the bleeding and patched him up the best they could. All he needed was time and a lot of rest. Lila and Elliott had went to sleep a few minutes earlier. She and Five agreeing to watch Diego just in case anything happened.

"Don't worry, he's gonna be okay." she said; sitting down on the floor leaning against the couch, stretching her legs out.

"Yeah," Five agreed taking a sip of his coffee, sitting on the coffee table. "He's too stubborn to die."

Ris smirked. "Yeah." she said holding out her hand; making grabby hands for her coffee. Five smiled, picking it up sitting next to her. Ris cupped the mug between her hands.

"I missed you." she whispered after a couple seconds, tracing her fingers lightly along the rim of the mug. Five said nothing, staring into his own mug. "Me too." he mumbled.

"When'd you arrive?" she asked, turning to him. It irked her how he looked exactly like she remembered him; not a hair out of place. It was almost scary. How some much time passed for her, but for him it was probably just a few measly seconds.

It was the curse of time travel.

Though to be fair, it was more a cursed game that a fun one.

"Few days ago."

Ris nodded, taking a sip.

"I looked for you." he mumbled, turning to her. For the first time in a long time; it was just the two of them; being just them. It was nice. Refreshing.

Ris smiled softly. "Me too."

Five smiled, taking another sip, setting his hand between them. Ris glanced at it, before back at him.

"Got a lot to talk about." Five mumbled, rubbing his neck, were Ris had patched him up. Ris shrugged, leaning back setting her hand on top of his, giving it a squeeze.

"It can wait." she said smiling at him; her eyes lighting up with that little light that made them almost sparkling.

The two lapsed into silence.

Ris shutting her eyes tiredly. Five gently tipped her head so it fell on his shoulder. Ris fast asleep in the matter of seconds.

Five chuckled, looking at her. "Only you would fall asleep while drinking coffee, Rissa." he whispered to himself.

Ris made a quiet noise, something between a snore and an inaudible noise of protest. Five sighed in content, slipping the mug out of her hands; brushing some of her hair back.

Setting down his mug. Five shut his eyes, taking a well-deserved nap.

He could sleep when she was near.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

"Ugh, shut up!" Ris groaned, opening her eyes about to move to throw something at whatever was back that godforsaken racket.

Before realising that something was lying on her. Five was fast asleep (How? That damn alarm) leaning against her. Ris instantly stopped wriggling, attempting to remain still. Trying not to make any sudden movements.

"Good morning." Lila greeted a large cheekily knowing grin on her face. "Hey," Ris said rubbing her eyes, yawning. "Why's your face doing that?"

"Doing what?"

"Smiling." Ris elaborated. "It's way too early for people to be smiling."

It was at the crack of dawn; it was still dark out. Nobody except the insomniacs, early-risers, farmers and/or alcoholics should be out. Ergo, Ris should not be awake.

Lila laughed. "Oh my god, you are so cute!"

"Nah ah." Ris replied, not in the mood to this, this early. "I'm sixty-five, sixty-sixty? Whatever years old. I'm not cute. I'm-"

"Adorkable? Small? Cutesy? Darling?" Lila listed, sitting down on the coffee table, her eyes alight with mischief.

"Grumpy. What did you do? Swallow a thesaurus?" Ris said smartly, earing another grin from Lila. "Ohh, I like you." Lila said, tucking some of her hair behind her ear.

Ris smiled, definitely not trusting the woman, but liking her energy. She missed Allison and Vanya; it had been a while since she had spent some time with just girls.

The alarm started to make a loud buzzing noise.

Ris and Lila moaned.

Ris turned to Five. "I'm sorry, but I need what the hell this thing is." she said, getting up slowly. The second she moved him off her shoulder, Five jerked up eyes wide. "What's happening?"

"Wakey, Wakey sleepy head." Lila teased, as Five moaned waking himself up. "Oh my god, you two are so cute."

"Oh my god, shut up." Five snapped back. Usually he was more of a morning person, but even this was a stretch for him.

Ris turned to the monitors, as Elliott came out from his bedroom holding a bowl of cereal; looking much better than he had last night.

Ris pulled a smile on her face. "Feeling better?" she asked.

Elliott nodded, opening his mouth to say something before his large bug like eyes widening when he saw the monitor. "Hey, we got one! Hey, one of those machines you asked for is going crazy." he reported, sitting down.

Five jumping up when he hears that. "Which one?" he asked, standing next to Ris, the two of them leaning over Elliott's shoulder. "It's the, uh, atmospheric radar." Elliott said, squinting slightly.

"Good." Five said, a smile creeping on his face. "I don't get it. What are you tracking?" Elliott asked, glancing up in confusion at the two of them. "A hurricane? A storm front?"

"Sound waves."

"Sound waves." Ris repeated, glancing at him. Her eyes' widened a grin forming on her face. "That's clever, that is, very clever. I'll give you that." Ris praised. (If possible Five's grin widening even more.)

"Okay, stop. You look like some creepy ass clown." Ris said sharply. Five wriggling his eyebrows. "Coming?"

Ris smirked. "Do you even have to ask?" she said grinning mischievously at him.

Five held out his hand, waiting for her to take it. Ris rolled her eyes, taking it as the two spatial-jumped away.
