Ice Rose
Gray watched the leaves fall from the trees. Summer was over and the colors of fall were appearing. He headed for the house he shared with Juvia. It had been three months since they left the guild. Juvia had asked him to go with him and he had accepted without really thinking about it. And to tell the truth, he did not regret letting her come with him. He liked the life he had with Juvia for the past three months. He felt like he had found a balance. It was something he had not felt since his parents' death.
He entered the house and saw Juvia. She was throwing faded flowers that were in a vase she had placed in the hall. Every day since they had settled in this house, she picked flowers to put them in the vase.
'There won't have any more flowers in the house until spring,' she said, seeing Gray enter. 'It's sad.'
She put the vase down.
'Juvia is going to cook lunch. She has new recipe ideas. She's sure Gray-sama will like it.'
Gray nodded and she headed for the kitchen. Since he lived with her, Gray had discovered Juvia's passion for cooking and that she loved inventing new recipes. He looked at the vase and an idea crossed his mind.

Juvia opened her eyes. A new day was beginning. She got up, got ready and left her bedroom. She walked over to the kitchen where she could hear Gray making breakfast. She stopped walking and looked at the vase in the hall. She opened her eyes wide. Inside was an ice rose. Juvia approached. The light was reflected on the ice, giving the impression that the rose was lighting up. The petals, the leaves, the thorns, all were sculpted to perfection. She had never seen such a beautiful rose.
'I know you like having flowers in the house and I was thinking it would be a shame not to have it any more,' Gray said. 'I hope you like it.'
Juvia nodded. What touched her the most was that Gray had sculpted it for her. She had tears in her eyes.
'It is perfect. Thank you Gray-sama.'
She walked over to him and threw herself into his arms. Gray had gotten used to her gestures of affection and it did not bother him anymore. He put his arms around her and hugged her.
Every day he opened his heart to her a little more. She made him happy and he wanted to do everything to give her back some of the happiness she was giving him.
The end
