"Authorities are asking for help identifying several persons of interest at Dealey Plaza at the time of the assassination. The FBI believes they may have been acting in concert with the alleged shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald." The TV newscaster said, holding up a picture. "Vanya Hargreeves, wanted in connection with the deaths of several FBI agents inside the federal building at Dealey Plaza." The newscaster set the picture down, pulling up another one. "A Cuban exile known only as Diego..."

"Cuban?" Diego repeated. Ris shrugged, from her place on the steps, not thinking she could meet his eyes.

"Who recently escaped from the Holbrook Sanatorium." A new picture was held up. "A bare-knuckle boxer with suspected Mafia ties who fights under the alias "King Kong." Another picture. "Allison Chestnut, a Negro radical responsible for instigating and organizing the recent riots at Stadtler's lunch counter."

Allison made a noise of irritation. Ris gently patting her leg, Allison patted her hand back, before the two turned their attention back to the screen.

"And finally, Klaus, the controversial cult leader and known tax evader. The FBI is asking the public to be on the lookout for this unidentified boy and girl, who they believe is being held hostage by the suspected terrorist network...

"Well, it's true." Five said after a few seconds. "I do feel like I'm being held hostage most days."

"God, I hate that photo." Diego said, making a face. "They're saying I instigated the riot? That's unbelievable." Allison scoffed. "Look, the good news is that we restored the timeline and we stopped doomsday. So-" Luther said brightly.

"Hallafrickenluya." Ris said making jazz hands.

"Yeah, a bunch of real goddamn heroes. We let Kennedy die." Diego said glumly. Ris and Five sharing a quick look. 'If only he knew.'

"Yeah, and now we're officially the most wanted people in the world. The FBI is after us, the Dallas police, the Secret Service. It's only a matter of time before they hunt us down here." Allison said worriedly.

"Well, where are we supposed to go?" Vanya asked. "I have this yurt just outside Reykjavik. We could totally lay low there." Klaus suggested, as he came down the stairs, giving Ris a half-hearted hair ruffle, which she flicked him for. "Folks there are a little weird, but lovely."

"Hey, numbnuts." Five interjected. "Hiding's not gonna make a difference here. The Commission will hunt us down wherever and whenever we go."

"He's right. They'll never stop." Diego said instantly, Ris and Five turning to him, sharing looks. "I'm sorry, since when are you an expert on the Commission?" Five asked mockingly.

"Since I got back from there."

"What?" Ris and Five said turning their full attention to him.

"Yeah, they headhunted me, offered me a job." Diego said. "Full time with benefits, which I had to turn down."

"Whoa, with benefits and everything?" Ris said mockingly.

"I'm more surprised they headhunted you..." Five said with a chuckle. "...the village idiot."

Ris snorted, trying to stifle a laugh.

"What, am I not allowed to be headhunted?" Diego said defensively. "Only the almighty Five and the extraordinary Ris needs to be in demand?"

"Extraordinary Ris?" Ris said, leaning back in amusement.

"Diego, you're not Commission material, all right? Got an obstinate nature to ya." Five said, prodding him lightly in the chest, as he paced around the room.

"Which if you knew, anything about the Commission. Hates." Ris added, leaning her head on her hands. "It cause you know, rivalry, tensions, death threats, bomb implants."

"Who do you think it was that figured out Vanya was the one that causes doomsday and stopped it? Me." Diego said.

"Hey!" Klaus cried.

"That's who." Diego continued. "I figured it all out on the Infinite Switchboard."

"You were on the Infinite Switchboard?" Five said in the same mocking tone, Ris had used; the girl giggling slightly.

"Hell, yeah!" Diego shouted. "I made that machine my bitch."

"Wow Diego, I didn't know of your multiple talents to work the Infinite Switchboard and limelight as the family psycho. How do you do it all?" Ris said folding her arms, jeeringly.

"Y'all need to recognize I got shit going on y'all don't even know about." Diego said.

Ris and Five standing next to each other, with wicked glees in their eyes, looking like two children who had been given candy.

"Oh, sorry. You've got things going on?"
"Wasn't aware you could do things?" Ris finished, starting up another fresh argument.

"This isn't helpful."

"Look, I met the Résistance in their secret lair. All right? I went through orientation and I passed and I stopped doomsday."

"You also had your fake girlfriend screw us over and nearly kill all of us."
"At least I wasn't busy playing with myself…"
"Can you dispense with the dick-measuring for five minutes?"
"Unless you can literally, 'cause Ben and I..."
"We don't have time for this. The Feds could be here any minute."
"That's what I've been saying.
"I'm agreeing."
"Okay, calm down, Hairy..."
"Hey, it's King Kong. And I'm sick of your ass, okay?"
"Easy, monkey brains. You can't get on your high horse. Don't forgot you tried to kill us."
"Yeah, okay, you win."
"Guys, we need to move, okay? That is more important here. That is our only option."
"We need to box those windows and stay here."

"I'm leaving." Vanya said, her voice cutting though the various different argument.

"What?" Allison said getting up, the room lapsing into silence. "To go where?"

"Sissy's farm. Something's wrong with Harlan and I need to help him." Vanya explained, grabbing her jacket. "Vanya, we need to stick together, okay? Now more than ever." Five said.

"That's why I'm telling you this." Vanya said. "Whatever's going on with Harlan, I think I might've caused it."

"How?" Ris said, folding her arms. Vanya sighed. "He drowned, and, uh, somehow I was able to bring him back to life. And now it's like we're connected."

"Wh... What does that even mean?" Allison asked.

"I don't know. I can't explain, but...I know that he needs my help." Vanya said, sighing softly. "I need your help, too. I'm scared. And for the first time in my life, I don't wanna do it alone. I want my family by my side."

Diego shook his head. "Look, I'm sorry. We have other priorities right now."

"Diego's right. For once." Five added. "We need to make our stand here and now."

Vanya licked her lips nodding. "Okay. I guess I'll see you when I see you." she said, walking outside, shutting the door behind her.

Ris sighed, turning around to the others. "So…little suggestion…"

"Got room for two more?" Allison asked, she and Diego getting the car, slamming the door. "What about the Commission?" Vanya asked in surprise. "Well, might as well do some good before we die horribly." Diego said.

"Whoo-hoo!" Klaus cheered. "Preach," Ris said in agreement, her and Five opening the front seat door, poking their heads in the car. "Spacious, I wonder why don't they make cars these anymore?" she mused.

"Ris," Vanya started. "Chill, Vans I'm not missing the chance to meet Sissy." Ris said, turning to Klaus. "Move your butt, unhealthy Santa." she said, Klaus sticking his tongue out at her, which Ris maturely stuck right back at him.

Vanya chuckled, glancing at Five. "Five, you... you don't have to..."

"I know. You owe me one, sis." Five said, turning to Klaus as well. "Children ride in the back."

"Okay." Klaus said brightly, climbing over the seat to Diego and Allison. "Whoa! Oh, Christ." Allison cried. Klaus grunting slightly, before sitting properly. Ris and Five sliding in next to each other in the front with Vanya.

"Guys, I don't know what to say." Vanya said, when the car made a noise, creaking from the sudden large weight of Luther. Ris made a face of pain, when the car began to crunch and creak, when Luther slammed the boot shut.

"Anyone makes a fat joke, and I'm outta here."

"Damn it, I had a good one." Ris whined.

"You think whatever's going on inside is causing the cold front?" Diego asked, as they pulled in the drive, the entire land around them covered in a thick layer of snow, a storm brewing above a barn.

"Well, the correlation is high." Five said, Ris jumping out her shoes crunching on the cold snow. "Pretty sure, it's the whole magic bullcrap in the farm than the correlation." she said, a few flakes of snow nestling her in hair. "Barns. Farm" she said, turning to Five, making him roll his eyes. "I'm telling you, bad things always happen to us on farms."

"Sissy! Sissy!"

"Get back!" a blonde woman with a rifle (respect) pointing at them, from the edge of the barn standing in front of it protectively. "All of you, just get the hell back!"

"Sissy! Hey! Hey! What's wrong?" Vanya asked, holding her hands out in front of her, concern evident in her voice. 'They so cute.' Ris thought.

"Carl." Sissy panted, glancing back at the glowing barn. "What did he do to you?" Vanya asked, the hint of protectiveness in her voice making Ris's heart sing. That's adorable.

"He's...He's dead." Sissy said shakily. "Harlan tossed him aside like a rag doll, same way you sent those policemen flyin'. What did you do to him? What the hell did you do to my son?"

"Don't have time for this, Vanya." Diego said, walking forwards. Sissy adjusting her gun, aiming it at him. "Where you think you're going?"

"To help your son." Diego said, holding out his hand, like Vanya had. "Look, Sissy, I found my family." Vanya said, turning to the Hargreeves. "These are my brothers and my sister; and my friend Ris."

Sissy's eyes swept over them, pausing at Luther. "Ma'am." he greeted with a small wave.

Sissy looked at Vanya, casting a worried eye over them standing behind her. "Were you lyin' to me the whole time?"

"Of course not." Vanya said gently. "Look, I didn't know who I was. But I do now. And we are not the monsters that they say we are. We did not kill the president." (Ris awkwardly scratching her ear, glancing at her shoes.) "We are not terrorists. We're not here to hurt anyone."

"Then...Who are you?" Sissy asked shakily. "The only one who can help Harlan." Vanya said gently.

"Shit." Ris breathed out, stepping back, the rush of energy stinging her. The boy was floating, almost like he was choking on the hair, his body rocking and shaking as if her were spasming. He had encased himself in a tornado of energy, sound energy; loud frequency's ringing in her ears.

She wondered if Vanya felt them too.

"Harlan? Harlan, it's Vanya!" Vanya shouted over the noise. The pure energy making them all struggle to stand. Ris's hand tightened around Five's, she didn't remember reaching out to hold it.

"Look, Harlan, I know you're really scared, but I can help you. I need you to listen to me, okay? Can you do that?"

The high-pitched tone rang again, making Ris wince slightly in pain. "Careful." Five warned, Vanya nodded, throwing herself into the energy tornado. The energy whooshed around, but it had already begun to relax.

"You think he's gonna be okay?" Ris mumbled, watching Vanya talk to him, her words washing way into the sound energy.

"Uh...guys?" Klaus said, looking out of the barn though a broken area. "What?" Diego asked, leaning over Klaus shoulder. "Ah, shit." Diego cursed.

"That doesn't sound like a good, 'ah, shit'" Ris said, following his gaze. "What, who are they?" Allison asked.

"One's the Handler," Five said. "A manipulative cockroach." Ris added. "Yeah, and the other's Diego's girlfriend." Five said shortly. "Lila. That's my ex-girlfriend." Diego corrected. "That's not much better." Ris said, glaring at them.

"What?" Klaus whispered. "You know what? Doesn't matter. They both look angry." Luther said.

"Yeah."

"Yeah, our brother has that effect on people." Allison said. "Which one?" Ris said dryly, making Allison smirk. "I'm gonna go find out what they want." Five said, straighten his blazer. "You guys stay with Vanya and the kid."

"I'm coming with you, too." Diego said. "Me too," Ris said, already walking to the exit as to leave no room for argument. "I'm going to make sure she dies properly."

"What do you want?" Five asked, walking over to them. Diego and Ris on either side of them. "To watch you suffer." Lila spat, making Ris pause. There was an unusual air of hatred around her. "What about me?" Diego asked.

"You're not even worth my wrath."

"Easy." The Handler said lightly. "We're here on official business."

"And what business is that?" Ris asked with feigned sweetness. The woman smiled. "As the head of the Commission, I've decided to eliminate the criminals responsible for the assassination of the former board of directors."

Ris shut her eyes, biting her lower lip. If they survived this, she was going to murder Five.

"Yeah, right." Diego scoffed. "We didn't kill the board."

Five cleared his throat. "Uh, actually, Diego, that's not entirely accurate."

"You didn't tell them. Oh, Five." The Handler said, glancing at Ris, who looked mildly annoyed, instead of the reaction that the Handler expected, from her.

"Five, what the hell did you do?" Diego growled under his breath. "What I had to get my family home." Five replied. "Until somebody reneged on our deal."

"Somebody wouldn't have reneged if somebody could've met a simple deadline. Alas." The Handler said, tilting her head in mocked sympathy. "Ris was right. You set me up to fail." Five said simply, happy that her jaw clenched slightly.

"You set yourself up to fail, friend. You and your brothers and sisters. And dear, dear Clarissa. Kinda the running theme of your little life, isn't it?" The Handler laughed.

"Dude, I can't believe you killed the board of directors. You have no idea how messed up the Commission is right now." Diego said.

Ris smiled at that, clever boy. Clever, clever boy.

"Messed up? Who's saying that?" the Handler said.

"Everybody. Christ, even the janitors think it's going to shit." Diego continued. "Yeah," Ris said in agreement. "Diego was just telling me, what it, the Résistance? Yeah, a sort French Revolution type situation." Ris said innocently, making a face. "We know how those end right?"

"That's not all he killed." Lila growled. "What are you talking about?" Five asked in confusion. "Don't play dumb, you prepubescent piece of shit."

"Tsk. You kiss your mother with that mouth?" Ris teased. Lila making a move, the Handler grabbing her arm. "Enough. The point is, all of you are going to die today. Hmm?"

"Oh. Well, I don't like your chances." Diego said. "Eight of us, two of you."

The Handler pursed her lips together. "You know, you're right. Let's change that." she said snapping her fingers.

The sound of hundreds of briefcases appearing hit Ris faster than the cold air. There had to be more than 100 temporal assassin alone.

Weapons began to unsheathe, firearms cocking, masks glittering in the snow. The air of war rushing though her hair.

"You had to ask." Ris said, glancing at him from the corner of her eye. Diego sighed, eyeing the assassins. "So what do we do now?"

Five took a shaky breath. "Well, we got two choices: fight and die now or run and die later. Either way, we're food for worms."

"Jackals." Ris said, scanning the assassins. "Jackals is better. Food for Jackals. So, umm…preference?"

"Wouldn't mind a few more minutes breathing air through the old windbags." Five said. "Agreed." Ris said, straightening her shirt.

"All right." The Handler said. "Let's get this over with, shall we?" she said, pulling out a red bit of fabric.

"Run!"

Some say, the silence before war, the moments before the battle are the hardest ones yet. The anticipation. The terror. Ris wouldn't know, she hadn't been in a war, but somehow in her experience. The shooting bit of it always seemed like the worst part.

Been chased by a hundred psychopaths in fancy dress that just so happened to be some of the best assassins the world had seen, that was just plain cruel. "Five!" Ris shouted over ricocheting bullets. "IF WE SURVIVE THIS," she yelled just to be heard of the noise. "I'M GOING TO FLIPPING KILL YOU!"

Okay. Maybe she didn't say flipping.

"We're not gonna make it!" Diego grunted, stumbling as he ran, half face-planting in the snow. Five ran behind him, grabbing hold of him, Ris taking Diego's hand. "What are you doing?"

Ris squeezed, Five and her spatial-jumping him forwards into the snow. "Ah! I think I'm gonna puke." he grunted.

"No time!" Five shouted, ducking, narrowly missing a bullet. Ris skidding to halt, ducking behind a large red tractor, Five and Diego next to her curled up on the second large wheel.

Ris glanced behind the tractor, ducking back as a rain of bullet's ricocheted from the tractor. "What now?" she shouted. She was tired, and dearly regretting not eating that second piece of toast from this morning.

"We blink into the house, man!" Diego shouted. Ris nodded. "Okay, now!" she said, glancing at Five, before disappearing from site.

Five clenched his first, the energy simply ripping in his hand.

"What?" Diego shouted.

"Shit, I'm out of fuel." Five said. "I'm too tired."

Ris reappeared, in front of him. "Did you not hear me say now?!" she cried, ducking as a few bullet's flew past her.

Five shook his head. "I'm too tired."

Ris cursed under her breath. "Okay, umm…" she mumbled, looking around, spotting Allison, Klaus and Luther a little way off.

"Go! I'll... I'll cover for you. Get him out of here!" Diego said, turning to Ris.

"Diego, what are you..."

"What? Diego!" she cried. Diego jumping up, running into the oncoming gunfire. "Go!" he cried, raising his hands.

Ris couldn't stop to be proud, as the bullet stopped hovering in mid-air, simply grabbing Five's hand to two running through the snow, Ris spatial-jumping them inside.

"I'm go back for him." Ris breathed out, not even waiting for a response, before she disappeared. A loud bang rang out, Ris smacking into the snow, next to Diego.

Ris panted heavily, holding onto his leg, the energy ripping in her hand. Diego pulled her closer next to him, as the bullets rained down, trying to cover her with his body.

A soft tone rang out in Ris's ears, the girl already feeling the buzz of energy from Vanya like she had before.

"Vanya," Ris whispered, watching Vanya emerge from the barn, glowing with her white high-pitched tone of energy.

"Whoa!" Diego said, as the energy flew out, pushing the Commission's forces down, the force of her energy, made the tractor and the two fall back. Before a silence fell over them.

Ris looked up, at Vanya, slowly powering down.

Ris sighed, glancing up at Diego. "Okay?"

He nodded, giving her a small thumbs up, helping her up.

The two walking out of from behind the tractor, Allison, Klaus and Luther getting up. Ris looked out at the field, on thing catching her eye.

"What the hell?" she mumbled, watching a small blue bubble seeming to cover two particular people, keeping them safe from Vanya's blast.

The person, Lila rose in the sky a bright glow resonating from within her, almost exactly like Vanya's.

"Are you seeing this?" Ris said, watching Lila glow brighter as she rose higher. "That's not normal." Diego replied.

"No, no, it's not." Ris said, watching the power build up. "Shit! Get do-" the words had barely left her mouth, when the blast threw them back.

Ris flying high in the air, slamming hard onto a pile of snow, rolling off onto the ground, slipping into darkness.

Hiya!

The last chapters are upon us, and I just want to say thank you. This story has been...difficult and I'll admit extended beyond it's intended time frame, but I've grown to really love it, despite everything. Ris is a character that is very near and dear to my heart and it makes me happy that I am able to give at least a smile to someone when they read her and this story.

Thank you :)

Don't forget to review, follow, fav and/or PM.

Till next time... :)
