Author's note: While I do have access to a couple of Goa'uld dictionaries, I don't want to go looking through them for all the words and sentence structure that I'd need for a full blown conversation, so instead of actually writing things out in Goa'uld when the Goa'uld is speaking, just assume he's speaking his own language.
OOOOOOOO
"Loki's?" Shawn asked. "Are you sure?"
Thor looked at him, wondering why he was doubting him, when Shawn of all people had to know that he would know what he was talking about.
"Yes."
"It's too much of a coincidence," Jack said. "Can you find them with that emergency beacon?"
"It is broadcasting their location, yes."
"Let's go, then."
"It is a considerable distance away, O'Neill… Loki would not-"
"Let's go!" Jack snapped.
Thor sighed, and nodded.
"Very well."
As the ship started to accelerate, Janet turned to Jack.
"Are you going to tell General Hammond where we're going?"
"We don't have time for that," he answered. "And it's not like he can give us backup…"
Besides, they were with Thor, and there wasn't much out there that the Asgard couldn't handle.
OOOOOOOO
"Does this shitheap have shields?"
Loki nodded.
"The blue button on the other arm of the chair. Press it once."
Ian looked over and noticed more panels – ones that hadn't been showing before – and pressed the blue button.
"What about weapons?"
"No."
"What?"
"There are no weapons."
"You've got to be kidding."
"I am not. It is a science vessel. Not a –"
"You kidnapped me and dragged me off into Goa'uldvillewithout any fucking weapons?"
"I did not drag you into Goa'uld territory," Loki replied angrily. "I was-"
He was interrupted by a voice, clearly coming over their communications. A Goa'uld voice to judge by the harsh voice and the arrogant tone.
"This is Sobek. You are trespassing. Surrender your ship and your technology and I will let you live. Resist and you will die."
Ian looked down at the arm of the chair, then over at Loki.
"No weapons?"
"No."
"Can we escape with the hyperdrive?"
"Not before he fires and destroys us. We are at a complete stop, and he will notice if we start the drives, and will undoubtedly fire."
"We have shields."
"They will not protect us long enough. Our best hope is to activate an emergency beacon and hope assistance comes in time."
"Which button?"
"The third red one on the left panel."
Ian frowned.
"I already hit that button…"
He'd kept track of which ones he'd been pushing, after all – even if he hadn't had a clue what they did.
"Then assistance may be on the way."
"May?"
"It is entirely possible that-"
"You are trying my patience. Surrender your ship, now."
Sobek's voice made it clear he wasn't going to give them time to wait for help.
Ian bit his lower lip, doing some quick thinking, and hating the conclusion he'd come to.
"How do I answer him?"
"What?"
"How do I reply?"
"You cannot possibly-"
"How do I answer him, Goddamn it!"
"The second red button," Loki replied. "Hold it down and speak, and he will hear you."
Ian pushed the red button, and in almost flawless Goa'uld – flawless enough that Loki's eyes widened – he responded.
"We're thinking about it, shit for brains."
There was a startled hesitation – and a gasp from Loki. Neither the Goa'uld nor the Asgard understood the insult shit for brains – although both could guess – and both of them recognized the arrogance in Ian's voice – and the defiance.
"What!"
Now Sobeck sounded furious. So angry, in fact, that he forgot to be arrogant. Ian pushed the button again.
"I said hold your fucking horses, we're thinking about it."
"What are you doing?" Loki hissed. "You are making him angry."
Ian nodded, and let go of the button so Sobeck wouldn't hear.
"I know."
"He'll kill us…"
"I know. I'm trying to make sure of it."
OOOOOOOOOOOO
"Come on…" Jack said, more under his breath than anything, certain that something terrible was happening. "Can't this bucket of bolts go any faster?"
"We are operating at maximum efficiency, now, O'Neill," Thor told him. "Two Asgard ships are also responding to the distress call, but they are even further away than we are."
"Any idea what's going on?" Sam asked, just as worried. Like Jack, she was certain there was too much of a coincidence that Ian would be missing and this Loki's ship would be in trouble. They had to get there before something terrible happened.
"I am afraid not," Thor responded. "We will not be able to ascertain the type of emergency until we are much closer."
"How long?" Teal'c asked.
"Thirty minutes, at least."
Jack's hands clenched.
"You can't go faster…?"
"It will put extra-"
"Do it!"
Thor looked at him, and then slid his palm along the panels on his chair once more.
OOOOOOOOOOO
"Are you insane?"
"No."
"Help is probably on the way, Ian Brooks. We must simply try to buy time – as your kind says – until they get here."
"I can't risk being taken prisoner by the Goa'uld," Ian said, and for the first time he looked scared.
"But-"
"I have the knowledge of the Ancients in my head, you stupid bastard. I'm pretty sure I'd make someone a great host, don't you think?"
Loki's mouth opened in surprise, and it was obvious he hadn't considered that.
"But… but you… they don't know that, do they?"
Before Ian could answer, the little ship rocked violently, tossing Ian to the floor and sending Loki rolling into a bulkhead once more. Sobeck had decided he was tired of waiting.
