Kim Possible: Invisible

The Roth flew on unseen, banked around a small group of apparently remote and uninhabited islands well out to sea in the South Pacific. So remote the islands were not even near any shipping lanes, or locations where even smugglers might exploit them, the islands were all but unknown to most of the world.
Unless one knew exactly where to find them.
Kim had guessed. Knowing her quarry, she knew exactly how to hunt her, and it didn't take long to track down an area she could search until she found the obvious hideaway. She flew down over one island, spotted the nearly perfectly camouflaged villa only IFR spotted on her AI's scanners, and then hovered over the house before she spotted a small clearing nearby where she could land.
Once she sat down near the villa, she shut off the engine and climbed out of the car. She eyed the villa and saw a small tray on the deck with a half-empty glass of lemonade next to a pitcher that had nearly been emptied.
She saw a book on the small table holding the refreshment, and a sun hat left on the lounge chair.
Shego was definitely home.
She walked over to the steps and stood there, waiting as she heard someone singing inside the house. She couldn't help but smile at the silly song the woman was singing even as she realized Shego had a very nice voice.
When Shego came out wearing a very snug green bikini and holding a small plate with a few sandwiches, and some fresh fruit peeled and sliced she put the food on the table, and then snatched up her hat before she settled back into her lounger. She was just lifting a piece of apple when Kim cleared her throat.
Shego leaped to her feet, looking around, eyes narrowed, and hands shimmering as if about to free her plasma she could use effectively if she wished. Kim almost laughed as she realized the comet-powered woman really was cautious if she could still react so swiftly.
"Sorry about that,' she said. I was trying not to freak you out."
"Kimmie," Shego frowned, obviously recognizing her voice. "Where…?"
"Right in front of you, believe it or not."
"Is this some kind of prank," she growled now as she dropped back into her chair.
"I wish. I ran into some problems, and was hoping you might be able to help me."
"Help….you? What happened to your sidekick? Or the Nerdlinger?"
"Ron can't help this time. And Wade is part of the problem," Kim declared.
"Kimmie…. Okay, how about you just show yourself, and then start making sense?"
"I wish I could. I'm stuck inside a stealth cloak that idiot helped Wade dupe me into using. Only it can't be shut off. Get it now?"
"You're saying… You're stuck being invisible?"
"Unfortunately," Kim nodded as Shego looked around her now, and frowned.
"So…. Nerd-boy actually got you to use his new toy, and…. Did he know it might have issues?"
"I'm finding out he suspected it might. Only he was so sure of his own modifications he felt it was a risk he was willing to take."
"Right," Shego muttered.
"Well, him and Alyn Fyne."
"Not that loon Bets uses?"
"The same."
"I could have warned you about him."
"I know. I never trusted him. Only I didn't realize Wade was working with him until after the fact."
"Right. So, you're stuck being the invisible woman, and….what? Need I guess Bets is still seeing super agents about now?"
"Actually, they want to just lock me up at the moment. They don't trust me now. Suddenly, because of their mishap, I'm the one that should be quarantined," she spat bitterly.
"Yeah, that sounds familiar, too. So, you need help? What's the sitch as you like to say?"
"I….snuck out with some of Wade's files, but I need a way to sift them and find out what he was really doing, and if there really is a way to reverse this," Kim told her. "Only I couldn't do this at home where someone might….intercept me."
"Or stop you," Shego nodded, still focusing on her just from her voice, which told Kim how talented and how sharp the woman was even when relaxing.
"Yes. Dr. Director already tried to lure me into a trap," she muttered in disgust.
"That's about like her. So, you just need a computer, and a safe base-of-operations," Shego asked.
"For now. I'm not asking you to do anything for me. Just give me some time, and a chance to go through the data I borrowed from Wade's files."
"Sure. Come on in," she said and stood up to lead the invisible girl to the door. "I'll give you a quick tour, and show you the office I use. Naturally, the computer is very well protected, and no one will be tracing or hacking it. So feel free to use it."
"Thanks, Shego. I'll owe you a big one for this. I haven't had time to even take a breath lately."
"Well, take one now. Want something to eat? I can make a few more sandwiches if you like, and…."
"I could eat something. It seems like I've just been running since this damn suit malfunctioned," as Shego led her through the house, showing her each room in turn.
"So, just taking off the suit doesn't work?"
"Remember the PDVI?"
"You're kidding?"
"That idiot talked Wade into helping him use the multi-phasic power core for the stealth system. Only they didn't warn me the dimensional shift could infuse my own cells with the same power and create a biological reaction. In short, I'm invisible. Not just the suit. Me. And anything I touch," she said, and as they moved into the kitchen, Kim obviously lifted a glass from a counter that immediately vanished.
"Whoa, Princess. That is a serious magic trick," she said as Kim put the glass down and it slowly reappeared.
"Right. Only I can't seem to find anything that helps me yet. That's why I grabbed Wade's files on the suit and bolted after I also snatched Fyne's notes. I wanted the truth. Not more of their double-talk."
"I get that. I'll make you something to eat, and you can stay here as long as you need, Kimmie. Mi casa su casa," she told the invisible redhead.
"I appreciate that," Kim sighed now. "I knew I could trust you to at least be honest with me."
"Anytime, Kimmie," Shego nodded, and opened the refrigerator to pull out the fixings for more sandwiches. "You want this in the office, or would you like to relax on the deck until you have to get to it?"
"Right now….relaxing sounds nice," Kim sighed. "As I said, it seems I've been running for days."
"Does your family know?"
"I left a note for the folks, telling them I had to jet for a while. I didn't want to trouble them."
"Stoppable…?"
"He knows. He just isn't sure what to think about it. You know Ron," she sighed.
"Yeah," Shego grunted as she began making sandwiches for Kim.
"They actually tried to use him to trap me, too. I tipped him to that much and then bailed. I couldn't risk someone getting hurt by their blundering," Kim muttered.
"Sure. I can see that. So, drink? I have lemonade outside…."
"That will be fine," Kim said, following as Shego held out a plate with the food on it she had fixed. "I do seem to eat more than usual of late."
"That is so weird," Shego said as Kim took the plate, and it immediately vanished.
"Trust me, I know."
"So, if things go invisible that you touch, can you still see them?"
"Only with some special glasses I wear, too. Otherwise, I can't even see myself, and that is seriously weird in itself."
"I'll bet. C'mon, let's go out and eat, and give you a chance to take a breath."
"Thanks, Shego," Kim said as Shego brought alone an extra glass of ice for her.
"Are you kidding? I still owe you more than a few. Even if that idiot Drew didn't realize it, we'd never have been paroled without your backing after that alien dealie. Besides, you are probably the only friend I have left out there these days."
Kim said nothing to that.
"Grab a chair," Shego gestured as she set the glass down and refilled them both leaving only a little of the lemonade left in the pitcher.
"So, you just stay out here now," Kim asked after a moment.
Shego gave a grunt of laughter as she swallowed the apple slice she now chewed.
"Let me tell you something, Princess. I may have helped you guys beat those green morons, and been pardoned, but no one…. No one out there wants to see me. I can't even rent a room out there if I tried to live in the open. Then there is Bets, who still thinks I should join her stupid club or be deemed a potential threat. It doesn't help my rep if every place I go I'm shadowed by her idiot cops. So I bailed, and at least here I can live in peace. Not many want the green freak anyway, so…."
"I'm sorry. I hate you feel that way."
Not everyone is a little Pollyanna, Princess. I doubt they'll ever forget I was a damned good thief, and of course, Doc's partner out there."
Kim said nothing to that as Shego noted the saucer had suddenly reappeared on the deck table with only a half sandwich left now, and all the fruit was gone. The glass rose and vanished even as it did, and she heard the redhead drinking now before the glass was set back down.
The sandwich was lifted now, vanishing as it did, and then Kim apparently sat in silence as she finished her food. Then she lifted the glass again, finishing the drink, and while unseen, she rose and walked to the edge of the deck.
"Kimmie?"
"It's not right. You and Drakken really helped save us. All of us. You should have gotten more appreciation than what they showed."
"At least you got us pardoned," Shego declared. "I fully expected them to drag us back to jail once it was over."
"Like you would have stayed," Kim chortled.
"Depends on how bad I needed a break," Shego smirked. "So, anything else you need, Princess?"
"Just time. I need to sift Wades and Fyne's notes and find out what they were really doing with this one. Then I need to figure out if there really is a way to reverse this or not."
"They couldn't tell you?"
"Wade just babbled about dangers, and Fyne just laughed and said I should feel special."
"I'm surprised you didn't punch him."
Kim laughed now.
"Actually, I'm pretty sure I broke his jaw. Right before I left after he gave me that stupid declaration," she muttered.
"Good for you," Shego nodded. "I hope you did. Maybe it will make him think twice about ruining any other lives."
"I doubt it. When I went to see him, he was trying to infuse nano-morphing tech directly into host cells."
"Isn't that what made that loopy Leon go loopier?"
"Worse. Infusing cells like he was trying would have killed anyone using it. The unstable tech would have ruptured any cells touched, and users would have died a very ugly death. Yet he still felt he could make it work."
"Maybe you should have broken more than his jaw," Shego declared as her door opened as if by itself, part of the frame vanishing as it did.
"I may yet," Kim admitted, and the door began to reappear as it closed.
