Kim Possible: Invisible

BY LJ58

Two weeks passed and only that single track had appeared in all that time as Global Justice hunted Kim Possible.

The brief track they detected came and went so fast they couldn't get in place in time to find or follow her. It did not help that she seemed to appear in the middle of the Sahara and vanished to reappear somewhere in London only to vanish again. This time leaving no trace.

There were no signs of their returning to Shego's villa at that time, and Will was ready to cut off the possibility as unlikely and pull his men from the island. Meanwhile, the Possible family seemed to have no idea what was going on with their daughter and had actually gotten angry at him as they demanded to know what GJ had gotten her into now.

When Will explained his perspective, it was the unlikely and most casual Dr. James Possible that had declared, "Leave. While you still can."

Will had not been back.

"Tell us what you've been hiding," James Possible said after the agent had left the house, and the twins pointedly reset the security to ensure no one tried creeping back. They then held up a finger each, and both pulled out devices as they scanned the entire area where Agent Du had been until Tim pulled up a small, blinking dot he set on the table, and then crushed.

"Now we can talk," Jim nodded at their parents. "It began when GJ and Wade betrayed Kim," he said.

"Wade," Ann Possible gasped.

The twins both nodded.

"It went downhill from there," the twins said as one as Jim began to explain.

Both elder Possibles were horrified long before their son finished.

"What is she doing now," James finally asked after the boys fell silent.

"We're trying to find a hospitable world she can use as a fallback in case GJ gets any closer to tracking her," Tim told them.

"Meanwhile, we're putting together special equipment to try to help her when she does have to bail. Because it's, unfortunately, going to be her only option in the end."

"Surely you can…."

"Mom, her only chance is to go where GJ and Du can't reach her. Right now, if they find her, he'll try to kill her," Jim told her bluntly.

"Oh, God," Ann gasped.

James just frowned, and finally said, "Do what you can, son."

"We've been refining our scanners, sir, and I think I've made a startling observation," Dr. Hox said as he held up a new, streamlined device.

"What is that," Commander Du asked, eyeing the device that was blinking rapidly and showing many of the targeting sites already located.

"Sir, I do believe you misunderstood what Dr. Stein found earlier," he told him. "We thought the endpoints were where Possible was touching the ground."

"It's not," William asked.

"Sir, if I'm right, and I suspect I am, we're looking at immense static discharges of dimensional energies. The very energies Possible was exposed to in the beginning to render her invisible. If my theory is correct, she's now using that energy to punch holes in our dimensional walls. Why we don't know. Only I can guess this much. If we don't stop her, she'll destabilize our entire dimension, and cause a complete collapse of our universe. We are looking at the literal end of all life if she's not…neutralized," the gaunt, shaggy-haired scientist told him.

"Good lord," another agent spat in horror as Will only carefully eyed the screen.

"Will this aid us in detecting her next outburst?"

"We can't predict them, but we can get closer. This," he said, "Is her last obvious signature. By tuning into the energy signature, we can refine the sensitivity, and locate the actual energy source. Possible herself. If I can get access to a full spectrum satellite, we can track her within five meters of her current location."

"Do it," Will snapped.

"Give me thirty minutes, and we'll soon find out exactly where she is hiding," the researcher assured Will.

"Agent Crash, five, no seven strike teams. This time, Possible's famed luck is going to run out," he declared. "Arm all of them with everything we have, and ensure they know this is an Omega Black operation. We shoot to kill this time. No exceptions."

"And if….anyone is helping her," Agent Dunne asked.

Will Du eyed the agents around him, and coolly remarked, "She's already likely killed Dr. Director, and who knows how many of those missing. If you falter, consider you may be the next to….disappear," Will told them curtly. "Now, any questions," he demanded.

"None," Agent Fyne said curtly.

"Get on it, Dr. Hox," Commander Du ordered him. "I want that woman's lair, and I want her head," he barked and stalked off to make his own preparations.

"Still think we shouldn't eavesdrop," Jim and Tim asked their parents as they overheard the message even as they called Kimberly.

"What's up, Tweebs," the redhead's familiar voice asked, and Ann gasped, sounding torn even as James only grimaced.

"Time's up, Kim," Jim told her. "Will got a new Brainiac who actually knows what he's doing. In about fifteen minutes, they're going to be knocking at your door and tracking you anywhere you go. Unless you leave this dimension, and now," he warned.

"So, it's our end-game scenario," Shego asked. "Just as you predicted?"

"Right down to the wire, Shego," Tim told her. "Du is coming in hot, and not looking for prisoners."

"We guessed that one," Kim spat. "Do yourself a favor, boys," she said. "Watch your own backs. GJ is about to have major egg on their faces," she said. "Meanwhile…. Thanks."

"Kim," Tim asked. "Did you find a place….?"

"Three likely, but I'm not sure. We haven't had a chance to really explore yet, but…. There is one that is definitely earthlike, and considering our options are limited, we're probably headed there. I'll send you the frequency. For the next hour, stay away from the lair, though. In fact, don't come near it."

"Kim…."

"You can't help. Not this time. Take care of the 'rents, Tweebs. And….thanks."

"Be careful, sweetheart," Ann called out before the signal went dark.

"Dr. Hox," Will demanded over the radio as he eyed the mountains just ahead of where he knew Lipski once maintained a lair. "Is the signal still strong?"

"Beyond that, sir," the worried voice came over the radio. "We just detected a major energy flux, which suggests she is venting again. Considering the strength, you'd better hurry before they grow strong enough to tear our dimensional walls to shreds," he exclaimed.

"We're moving into position now. Gentlemen," he called out to his teams. "We know this lair, and we know its access points. I want eyes on every exit, and anyone moving inside had better be ready to fight. Let's move," he demanded as they flew down before the main entrance of the lair's major hangar.

The men all moved on cue, and the jets left hovering over the mountaintop lair stayed ready even as those landing all disgorged men that raced to entrances or once hidden exits used by the madman that once called the lair home.

Will led the men into the main corridor, using the portable device that led him to the main lab even as they all looked around, moving so to ensure no one could just run past them as they held weapons at the ready.

"No one this way," a team coming toward his called out.

"They were inside this lab," Will said, "And the last major signal came from here," he said. "Get ready," he said and kicked the door open.

The lab was all but deserted, only broken equipment and electronics left around the various tables and consoles.

"What is that," an agent asked as they noted something blinking even as Will approached.

He saw nothing, just that steady light blinking regularly.

Then he found a knob and slowly turned it, and he heard a soft voice suddenly increase to audible levels as they all heard, "….Eight. Seven. Six….."

"Fall back! Fall back," Will shouted, and raced for the exit.

He never made it.

"Ohmigod," Ann gasped as the blinding cloud rose over the nearby mountains bordering Middleton.

The rumbling thunder seemed to shake the very air and finally, after it settled, they realized a huge, dark cloud now billowed over Drew Lipski's old lair.

"Boys," James asked.

"It's not nuclear," Jim told him. "But it was…."

"Powerful," Tim nodded.

"Oh, God," Ann rasped. "What did she do?"

"Ended Will Du," Jim and Tim said. "We knew she was going to do something, but…. Whoa," they said as one, eyeing one another somberly.

"Boys," James asked.

"Yeah. They already left. We detected her dimensional surge ten minutes before Will even got close. She must have left some booby-trap and that idiot walked right into it," Jim nodded.

"He never did have a brain," Tim sneered.

"And….Kim?"

"We should be able to at least locate her on the dimensional viewer she left behind," Jim said.

"We're still working on creating a genuine portal to travel the way she does," Tim added. "For now, she's on her own."

"Oh, God," Ann said again.

"Mom, she also has a lot of survival gear we sent with her. Modular tech, and all the electronic aides you can ask. She should be fine," Tim told her.

The parents just sighed, and said, "Find her," James said. "Just….find her."

"Count on us, dad," they said quietly.
