Gaara.
He is shinobi
From the village of sand.
Gaara no sabaku.
Yes, Gaara of the desert.
But Gaara of the dessert:
whoose sand is sweet death
For writers far and wide.
O! Unstoppered and wild,
the sand rises on the
winds of madness and occ.
A fandom aberration,
this one seeks true love.
Be it, love of a good man
or good woman, or
chocolate bars and teddy bears.
A fandom aberration,
or as some authors note:
'Cheer up, emo sand kid!
Why bother angst when past is past;
How can you suffer--
suffer love, in love, of love --
When married for years?
Married to your mate, your love.
That bloody sandbox
is not the whole of your world!
You can be happy.
As author, I will make sure.'
Author's Note: I'm not really sure where the bastardized haiku and tanka poetic structure came from, but why not ne?
So what happened was this - I was reading through ffnet, and kept finding the phrase 'gaara of the dessert' in a few Naruto fics, which made my imagination kick into drive... Maybe it's just my strange sense of humor. I thought 'Dude, what would it take to make Gaara sweeten?' Enter thoughts on OTPs, enter thoughts on irony and the supposed 'Redemptive powers of True Love,' And I came out with this. My apologies for the lack of better crack. But hey, at least it's Gaara. Even (especially) I love Gaara.
