I wait for the postman to bring me a letter
I wait for the good Lord to make me feel better
And I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders
A family in crisis that only grows older

Why'd you have to go
Why'd you have to go
Why'd you have to go

Prince Zuko's beloved Fire Lily (Soulmate) laid past out in the physician's exam room. Both the human world and Spirit World were recovering. The human one from the Battle for the Shards. The Spirit World from the Battle of Keaparaberu.

Akiko had scarcely regained enough strength to confront her bastard sire when he sought to assassinate the White Spirit of Life, Alanna. Given Alanna was the Spirit of Life, moreover, the Mother of Humanity?

If Zhao had succeeded in murdering her? Then he'd ended all of creation in his crazy attempt for eternal glory! But, regrettably, someone had been murdered—the Daughter of Death, Wyanet. The Black Spirit of Death, Anto had felt his child perish. Thus he left Zuko's great-uncle Ozai to die a slow, excruciating demise.

Daughter to father, daughter to father
I am broken, but I am hoping
Daughter to father, daughter to father
I am crying. A part of me is dying and
These are, these are
The confessions of a broken heart

"Why? Why did I do it?" her unconscious mind demanded. What rational motive could she possibly have? To plea for mercy for Zhao? Or at least others were thinking why she'd done it.

Despite her abandonment issues? Or how Zhao neglected and abused the hell out of her and her mother? It would've gone against who she was if she hadn't pleaded for mercy. One reason Prince Zuko loved Akiko so much? She had a tremendous capacity for empathy moreover compassion. Yet, she remained intensely loyal to her beliefs.

She was forever doing her most qualified to help others. Occasionally at the expense of her sanity. Alanna's champion couldn't have done anything else but try to convince Lord Anto not to kill.

And I wear all your old clothes; your polo sweater
I dream of another you, the one who would never, never
Leave me alone to pick up the pieces
A daddy to hold me, that's what I needed

So why'd you have to go
Why'd you have to go
Why'd you have to go

Suddenly a dazzling white light shined within her dark mind. "My champion, may we speak?" called out the sweetest voice ever.

"Alanna? Is that you?"

"It is I, Lady Akiko. But, please, we've much to talk about."

Akiko felt her essence separate from her body before being yanked back to the Spirit World. Once she regained her senses, she discovered she'd returned to Keaparaberu!

The slice of heaven that was Alanna's home? Lay in charred ruins from Zhao's out-of-control inferno. How long would it take to rebuild? She didn't know. Nevertheless, it was a sad sight indeed. "Lady Akiko, is something the matter?" as Akiko quickly gazed upon her creator.

Alanna, without a doubt, remained one of the most gorgeous women of all time. From her silky snow-white hair, glowing azure eyes, to her elaborate junihitoe, and finally, her glittering human-size butterfly wings.

Daughter to father, daughter to father
I don't know you, but I still want to
Daughter to father, daughter to father
Tell me the truth, did you ever love me
Cause these are, these are
The confessions of a broken heart, of a broken heart

"Dear child, do not feel guilt for the sins of Zhao. Keaparaberu can be reconstructed. It'll take years to reclaim this fallen paradise. Nevertheless, one day it will be restored."

"I cannot help but feel guilty, my Lady. It was my sleazeball of a father who destroyed your home. He'd have murdered you without a second thought! Thus ending all creation!

I'm ashamed that bastard's blood courses through my veins. I don't even understand why Lord Anto even listen to me. He should've taken my life in exchange for his daughter's!" she wept uncontrollably on the floor.

Alanna embraced the broken woman. The Almighty Mother continued cradling her child after a nightmare. Finally, Akiko stopped weeping while Alanna wiped the last of her tears away. "Dear child, listen to me, and listen well," gently turning to make sure they're facing each other. She brushed back a loose silky jet black strand of Akiko's hair and spoke softly.

"We've no control over other actions. Their choices and the consequences are solely on their feet. No matter how much we wish, we could control the people in our lives? We ultimately cannot.

We cannot choose whose earthly blood we share. However, we still have the power to choose whom we call family. Our most crucial choice is how we choose to live each day of our lives. There will be times we stumble or times we stand. We shall make mistakes and learn from them. Each day is an opportunity to grow or choose to remain the same.

Zhao sired you, that is all child. You are not guilty of his crimes. He made his dishonorable choices on his own. He must bear those consequences," she reminded her champion.

Taking a deep breath, Akiko nodded. "I sincerely understand what your saying, Lady Alanna. However, why can't I get over the guilt? Why must his atrocities still haunt me? Others would've let Lord Anto rip him apart limb by limb for murdering Wyanet. Therefore why did I do the unexpected and plead for mercy?"

"You have an inner strength others do not possess, Lady Akiko. It's challenging to put aside your hurt feelings. You had the courage others lack, for despite the atrocities Zhao committed? You've enough compassion in you that you dared speak the words others would've remained silent.

Compassion moreover mercy aren't weaknesses. Understanding while humans can kill, they don't have the right. You alone wish to save the soul of the Spirit of Death. You're willing to put aside your pain to help another not get trapped in an endless cycle of vengeance. This is why I chose you to be my champion.

For you've got the strength to perform earthly miracles with a strong heart and gentle hand. You will do countless blessings in your life, my Light of Hope. So don't dwell on the negative thoughts."

Standing tall, "I guess I felt so consumed by unnecessary guilt, I didn't realize my true strengths."

"Sometimes, its hard for us to see both our strengths and flaws. However, when do we become self-aware enough for both? That is a true sign we've grown."

I love you
I love you
I love you
I, I love you

"What shall you do now, Lady Alanna? What will you do in the wake of such agony?"

"First, I must mend the bond between myself and Anto. We shall never be lovers again, that I can assure you. However, I wish to be friends once more. We balance each other, and I've spent enough eons being angry with him. We both have a lot of healing to do. It'd best if we did it together."

"What of Keaparaberu? When shall you start rebuilding?" she questioned, to which the stunning spirit replied.

"That can wait until another day. But, first, Anto and I need to reconcile afterward. Then, we can rebuild together."

"I suppose you've got a mission in mind for me?"

"Yes, I wish you to spread your light of hope, my child. Speak thy words of truth to the rest of my children, help them all see once more with eyes unclouded. We shall need such words of truth and love shortly. So go forth, Lady Akiko, my Light of Hope. Help restore this world faith, love, and ability of mercy."

"It shall be done, my Lady. It shall be done!" Akiko returned to her body to begin her duty of restoring the words of truth to the rest of humanity.

Daughter to father, daughter to father
I don't know you, but I still want to
Daughter to father, daughter to father
Tell me the truth, did you ever love me
Did you ever love me?

These are
The confessions of a broken heart, oh yea

And I wait for the postman to bring me a letter
