Unrequited

Prologue:

"I hate her. She must die. I hate her. She must die. I hate her. She must die. I hate her. She must die. I hate her. She must die." Remus scribbled furiously on a piece of scrap parchment paper, staring with a great loathing at the girl strewn across the bed next to his. Her blonde hair flowed elegantly down her back and across the chest of a ruggedly good looking man. A mane of black hair was flared out on the pillow beneath his head.

"What masterpiece is my Remus writing now?" he asked, his hand caressing the woman's silky face. She giggled and pushed his hands away.

"That tickles."

Remus rolled his eyes. 'Of course it tickled. You were laughing,' he wanted to scream, knocking some sense into the hollow blonde head of hers. Some people are just so stupid. Especially the endless line of slags Sirius kept dating. This was a pity because he was amazingly brilliant and deserved someone that could hold an intelligent conversation with him without having to ask what a word meant.

Sirius kissed her neck lovingly, his stubble causing her to giggle even more. Remus pretended to throw-up all over his bed while Sirius grinned at him. Unfortunately the grin was not for Remus alone; it was for the whole situation and partly, even, for her.

Remus wanted that smile all to himself. He wanted to kiss it and caress it with his fingers. He wanted Sirius to kiss his neck and tickle him playfully. But that would never happen. At least not while she was around.

Lupin stood up and reached for his bedside drawer. He pulled out a knife and held it behind his back.

Sirius and the girl lay there kissing and laughing while Remus moved closer, eyeing the girl's chest murderously.

"Want to join us?" Sirius asked, sliding over to make room. "I'm sure Kat wouldn't mind."

Kat smiled at Remus and shook her. "The more the merrier." Sirius patted the bed looking expectantly at Remus.

"SLAG!" Remus screamed, raising the knife above his head. It sliced right through the little slut's chest. Her blood spilled out all over Sirius' bed.

Sirius looked up at Remus and something changed in his eyes, as if they were looking at Remus for the first time.

Ignoring the body he stood up and walked over to Remus. Their lips met passionately as Kat lie there breathing in her final breaths of life.

"I love you," Sirius muttered.

"Earth to Remus!" shouted a voice. Remus' eyes flashed open and he looked over at Sirius, Kat cuddling by his side.

"Sorry, I guess I was daydreaming," Remus muttered, ashamed of himself for even thinking about killing Kat. He crumbled his parchment up and stuck it under his pillow.

"Was it a good day dream?" Kat asked in stupid blonde voice, though in a slightly more suggestive voice than was normal.

"Yes, parts of it were nice." Remus looked at Sirius and wished that they were kissing, for real.

He felt a sharp pang in his chest and desired, for about the millionth time, that he didn't have these feelings inside.
