Note: It has been quite a while since I updated this story, so don't expect this chapter to be one of the better ones in here.
Chapter 17: Duck the Falsetto
It was just a normal day at the Loonatics' HQ, as there hadn't been a crime alert in Acmetropolis yet. Everything was quiet until music started playing.
Sherry, Sherry baby
Sherry, Sherry baby
The Loonatics heard a beautiful falsetto voice singing along with the song as the instruments played.
Sherry baby (Sherry baby)
Sherry, can you come out tonight?
(Come, come, come out tonight)
"Where's the singing coming from?" Ace asked.
"I don't know," Lexi stated, "but it sounds good."
Sherry baby (Sherry baby)
Sherry, can you come out tonight?
"I think that we have a Four Seasons fan in here." Tech remarked.
(Why don't you come out)To my twist party
(Come out) Where the bright don't shine
(Come out) We'll dance the night away
I'm gonna make you mine
"Talk-about-a-lovely-falsetto-I-mean-I've-heard-several-before-but-this-one-is-especially-beautiful!" Rev excitedly said.
Sherry baby (Sherry baby)
Sherry, can you come out tonight?
(Come, come, come out tonight)
(Come, come, come out tonight)
You better ask your Mama (Sherry baby)
Tell her everything's alright
The Loonatics, now curious to where the singing was coming from, carefully walked to where the song was being played: Duck's room.
(Why don't you come out) With your red dress on
(Come out) Mmm, you look so fine
(Come out) Move it nice and easy
Girl, you'll make me lose my mind
"Should we knock before entering?" Lexi asked.
"Maybe we should wait until he finishes." Ace said.
Slam grunted in agreement.
Sherry baby (Sherry baby)
Sherry, can you come out tonight?
(Come, come, come out tonight)
Come out tonight
(Come, come, come out tonight)
Sherry, Sherry baby (Sherry baby)
(Come, come, come out tonight)
Sherry
When the song was over, Duck came out while rubbing his throat.
"You guys discovered one of my secret talents, now did you?" The mallard rasped.
"We didn't know that you could sing like this." Tech stated.
"Well, I did." Lexi said.
"For how long?" Ace asked.
"On one of our dates," The doe explained, "a song came on and Duck sang in falsetto."
"I've been singing in falsetto for quite a while," Duck moaned, "but today was not the day for it!"
"If you have a sore throat, go take a lozenge." Tech said.
"Thanks, but I'm sure that I can overcome a sore throat." The egotistical mallard stated.
"Hey-Duck-can-you-maybe-sing-at-one-of-my-family-gatherings?" Rev excitedly asked.
"Sure." Duck smiled.
The other Loonatics couldn't help but smile at the mallard's selflessness, even if it would be undercut by his usual arrogance.
Note: There were a number of songs by the Four Seasons I could have used, but I just decided to use Sherry. I wonder if Duck's actor, Jason Marsden, can sing in falsetto. If he can, that would be interesting. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism. Until next time guys, peace!
