Note: This chapter is a Fox x Wolf story, which I never thought that I would do. This chapter contains nothing dirty, it's just a way for me to write a story with a pairing that I'm not fond of. I just don't like how people think I'm homophobic because I don't like the Fox x Wolf pairing, even though I support certain same-sex pairings such as Tech x Rev. Hell, I think that Garnet is a great character because she is a positive portrayal of a gay couple (she's a fusion of two gems, after all). Okay, let's get on with chapter twenty-three.
Chapter 23: Scary Movies and Confessions
Fox McCloud had patiently waited for Wolf O'Donnell to show up. After all, the two had become friends after the Aparoid invasion had ended. However, Fox could swear that Wolf saw him as more than a friend. It was strange, considering how the two were mortal enemies when they were younger. To Fox, Wolf would never show any real affection to anyone. But now everything he knew was changing, as Star Wolf's leader was coming over to watch a film with him.
Wolf entered the Great Fox through the elevator, where he saw Fox by the door.
"You're early." Fox said.
"Where's the rest of your team?" Wolf asked.
"Falco, Peppy, and Slippy are down on Corneria." The vulpine stated.
"What about Krystal?" The one-eyed lupine asked, "Isn't she a member of the team?"
"She's hanging out with the girls on Fichina." The younger male stated.
"Have Krystal and Fara been getting along?" Wolf asked.
"They have been hanging out ever since they met." Fox answered.
"Well," Wolf spoke, "are we going to stand here and chat or are we going to watch that movie?"
"Let's watch the movie." Fox said.
The film that Fox and Wolf had watched was a simple slasher movie. It began with a young woman being decapitated by the killer of the flick. All throughout the film, the killer proceeded to kill several characters. However, his rampage stopped when a group of friends caught him in a trap and killed him. The movie then ended with a hint that the killer somehow survived. When it was over, Wolf saw that Fox had a worried look on his face.
"You know that it's only a movie, right, Pup?" The one-eyed lupine asked.
"I know that," Fox said, "I've just been thinking about something else."
"What is it?" Wolf asked.
"Am I a good leader?" Fox asked.
"What are you talking about?" The one-eyed lupine was curious.
"I can't help but wonder how the team would function if my leadership skills were different." The vulpine ventured, "I know that everyone is doing okay, but how are they really? I know that Falco, Peppy, and Slippy are fine, I've known them for years. But what about Krystal? She's the last Cerinian and I don't know everything about her. Sure, she's smart, beautiful, funny, and brave. That's everything that a guy wants in a girl. However, she's also a telepath, so I shouldn't worry too much about a girl with psychic gifts. But I feel the need to protect her, which I probably can't do. I probably couldn't save the team, Krystal included, from a psycho killer like the one in the movie we just watched."
"This has nothing to do with being a leader, does it?" Wolf asked.
"No," the younger male sighed, "it's just that you have been acting nicer to me lately."
"The Aparoid invasion made me see the light, I guess." The older male stated.
"I have something to ask." Fox said.
"What is it?" Wolf asked.
"Do you love me?" He asked.
"Looks like someone finally caught on." The lupine remarked.
"Why though?" The vulpine asked.
"I just didn't expect for me to fall for someone I try to kill every so often." The older male stated.
"How will our teams react to us being together?" The younger male asked.
"I'll whip my idiot teammates into shape," Wolf said, "but what about your teammates?"
"The one who I'm worried about the most is Krystal." Fox said, "I mean, I saved her life on Sauria. After that, I think she fell in love with me. I think that she would be heartbroken and betrayed to learn that we were together. The others would be fine, I think."
"Trust me," Wolf stated, "Krystal will be fine with us being together."
"I hope so." The vulpine said as he rested his head on his guest's shoulder, falling asleep.
An hour later, Krystal came back to the Great Fox, where she saw Fox and Wolf sleeping on the couch. The cobalt vixen couldn't help but smile, even if she knew that Wolf liked Fox. As she watched them sleep, she could see their dreams with her telepathy. The dream she saw was where they were fighting off against a slasher villain. The two managed to kill the villain and share a kiss.
It's about time. Krystal thought to herself, I was wondering when they would get together. But what will everyone else say about this? I'm fine with gay couples, considering how homosexuality was forbidden on Cerinia. I always found that law stupid. But it's not like I had a say in what the laws were. If I did, and if Cerinia was still around, I could change it so that homosexuality was allowed.
"Krystal," Wolf moaned in his sleep, "can you leave me and Fox alone? We don't mind your telepathy, but you're being kinda intrusive."
"Sure," the cobalt vixen said, "I'll head to my room."
As she entered her room, Krystal sat on her bed.
"Those two are cute together." The vixen gushed.
Note: Considering how Halloween was today, it makes sense that Fox and Wolf would watch a horror movie. Also, just because those two end up together doesn't mean that Krystal would automatically end up with Panther. For all we know, Panther could be dating someone else in certain Fox x Wolf stories. Hell, Krystal (or even Fara) doesn't really need to appear in Fox x Wolf stories, as some could take place before Star Fox Adventures. Now I have the urge to make a Krystal x Katt or Krystal x Fara oneshot chapter, do you guys think that I should do that? Also, how the hell do you make a poll on here? What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism.
Krystal: Come back to bed, birthday boy.
Katt: We would like to do some cuddling, even if your birthday is over.
Me: I'm coming.
Until next time guys, peace!
