It was a cool late-autumn evening in Central Park. The fallen leaves left the trees bare and ominous looking while gazing out at the colorful skies as the sun set along the horizon. True beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but beauty in itself is one of this world's illusive characteristics.

"Come on Chip! You can write later, we're going to miss out on all the candy." Dale stated boldly as he stood at the entrance of the bedroom.

Chip closed a journal and set his pen directly beside it. With a single motion, he turned, stood, and grabbed his jacket. "There will be more than enough time, Dale." He stated with no expression on his face.

As Chip and Dale made their way to the main foyer of the treehouse, Gadget saw the immense excitement in Dale's expression as they proceeded outside to where the plane spread across the long branch which acted as a runway. "Golly, Dale sure seems really excited over this Halloween stuff." She commented while proceeding to load her tools into the cargo bay of the plane.

Monterey Jack chimed in with his usual influential analogies. "Right you are Gadget, love. Haven't seen someone as excited as Dale for free food since the time I heard they were giving samples of cheese out at the grocery store." He paused and fonded over the memory before continuing his thought. "Of course, however, you didn't need to dress up in some silly costume to get it." He remarked, carefully choosing his words so as to not upset Dale.

Chip sighed, expressing his displeasure for being forced to take part in what seemed to him an inexcusable waste of time. "Right...Well, the sooner we go out and do this, the sooner we can get back and start searching for our next BIG case." He said with grave emphasis.

As the plane gently glided down the long narrow tree branch, Gadget expressed her concerns about Chip's usual rhetoric. "Gee, Chip, even Rescue Rangers need to take a break every once and a while too." She stated without hesitation. Her admiration for Chip's tenacity to show his immense workaholic-type behavior grew thin on her emotions from time to time.

Monterey Jack gave Chip an uplifting pat on the back for encouragement."Right you are Gadget. Besides, Chip, you may actually enjoy yourself." He said while feeling sympathy for Dale and having to live with his overbearing older brother's antics.

Chip groaned and looked out at the city as dusk emerged. He let out a big sigh. "Only time will tell." He mumbled quietly to himself so as to not further any disagreements among the others.

As the plane gently graced the concrete ground, Dale stared out at the houses that towered alongside the plane. " Look, look, that place looks perfect to start!" He exclaimed. He barely could contain his excitement.

Time-pressed onward as darkness settled. The occasional yawn carried from all members of the group, excluding Dale.

Dale eventually returned with his small sack of treats. Still gleaming with enthusiasm, despite being frigid smiled. "Isn't this fun Chip?" He asked.

Chip scoffed and rolled his eyes but made the effort to give a brief smile. "Oh yeah, Dale… super exciting." He said with immense discontent.

Monterey Jack sighed as he tried to ease Chip's punitive frustrations. "Cheer up Chip, there will be plenty of cases for us to solve tomorrow." He said.

Gadget placed her paw on Chip's back as a show of comfort."And, besides Chip, how often can Dale have this much fun and not end get into trouble?" She remarked. Monterey Jack and Zipper nodded in agreeance with her.

Chip finally gave into his built-up aggression towards the situation."Yeah, I suppose you guys are right." He said. His head hung low as a sheer force of guilt overtook him. An hour or so passed, and the colder temperatures began to make even Dale feel uncomfortable. They decided that the best course of action is to head home and brace themselves for the dawn of a new day.

As the team entered their home, Dale rushed ahead and sat on the sofa, and began inspecting his candies. "Oh boy, that was fun! We should do it again sometime." He said.

Gadget walked over and stopped Dale as he attempted to turn the television on."Now, Dale, we should really try to get some sleep. We have BIG cases to deal with tomorrow" She said.

Dale pouted in disagreement. "Oh alright, you guys are never any fun." He said as he sauntered to the bedroom he shared with Chip.

Chip chuckled. "Thanks, Gadget." He said walking past in a brisk manner.

"Goodnight guys." She said without further remark.

As Chip and Dale began dressing for bed, Chip could not help but break the silence within their shared bedroom. "So did you have fun tonight Dale?" He asked without turning to acknowledge Dale. While both are brothers from birth, the two still honored each other's privacy as they clothed themselves each morning and night.

Dale finished buttoning his shirt and turned to Chip. They both made eye contact as Dale began to speak. "It was great!" He said with enthusiasm, his smile gleaming from ear to ear.

Chip turned and began to draw back the covers as he prepared to lay down in his bed. However, as he began to sit down, immense pressure could be felt from his upper back to his torso. He glared down to see Dale's arms wrapped around him from behind. He turned as Dale appeared to be blushing. "What was that for?" He asked.

Dale stammered slightly as he was too embarrassed to say what was on his mind. "I-I just wanted to let you know that I'm grateful you came out tonight with me. We don't do things like that often anymore and it was nice to be together doing something enjoyable." He said.

Chip gave a half smirk as he admired Dale's innocent honesty. "Well, I guess that makes two of us." He said, laying on his side. "Good night, Dale." He replied, slowly drifting asleep.

Dale who laid in the bed next to Chip's replied. "Good night, Chip." He said with yawn.
