Chapter 4

And then, just when the seed bullets almost hit Frisk, he saw a fireball directly hit Flowey. All the seed bullets disappeared right at the moment when Flowey was hit by the fireball. Frisk saw that parts of Flowey were burnt and Flowey was angry.

"Damn you, caretaker!" Flowey yelled. "I will get you for this. Mark my words."

Flowey made a swift escape into the ground right after saying that. "Caretaker? Who is that? Who fired the fireball?" Frisk thought. Frisk looked around to see who Flowey was referring to. But Frisk's eyes were too blurry to see anything. And then, he lost consciousness.

Frisk woke up in a fluffy bed. He was covered in bandages. He tried moving. He could barely move because of the pain. "Damn, this hurts so much. I have never thought that I could get hurt this much." Frisk thought.

Frisk then looked around the room. The room was quite small. It was very small compared to his room. He was lying down on a single bed. There was one bookshelf, a table, a chair and one closet. That was all the room had. Frisk was not bothered by any of these things at all.

A few minutes later, something came in through the door. Frisk was too shocked that he made sudden movements, which resulted in hurting him. He looked at the creature that entered the room. "A goat, standing on two feet like a human? And wears clothes? " Frisk thought. It looked like a goat that was standing on two feet. And it wore clothes too.

"Oh." The goat-like creature said. "I'm sorry for startling you. You must be surprised to see me. I should have knocked first."

"THE GOAT SPOKE!" Frisk yelled. "I have had too many surprises for a day. Give me a break."

"Don't call me a goat. I do have a name, you know." The goat-like creature said.

"Oh, sorry." Frisk apologized immediately. "Are you the same as the flower guy?"

"Flower guy?" The goat-like creature giggled. "Yes ofcourse I am. I am a monster too, just like him. My name is Toriel by the way. What's yours?"

"My name is Frisk." Frisk answered.

Frisk looked at the bookshelf. "So… She's a monster too. Looks like I really am in the realm of monsters. This is not the normal world." Frisk thought. Frisk constantly thought about how to get out of there. But he was not able to.

There was a brief silence between them for a while. "Is she going to trick me too?" Frisk thought.

"You should be careful around Flowey." Toriel warned Frisk. "He tricks everyone and backstabs them. He is truly an evil being."

"He does that to everyone?" Frisk asked. "Even monsters?"

"Yes." Toriel answered. "It doesn't matter to him if his victim is a monster or human. He just likes doing that."

"I see…" Frisk said, and was surprised to hear that. "I thought he did it to me because I am a human."

"Well, yes… He does that to everyone." Toriel said. "And by the way, you should not move carelessly because you are hurt all over."

"But I have to go back to where I came from." Frisk said. "My friend must be really worried sick about me."

"I'm sorry." Toriel replied, with a sad expression on her face. "I know your friend is probably worried about you, but…"

"But?..." Frisk said, wanting eagerly for Toriel to finish her sentence. "What is it?"

"Well." Toriel replied. "It's impossible to get out of here. Once you are in here, you are stuck here forever. There is absolutely no way you can get out of here."

"Why is that?" Frisk asked. "Why can't I get out of here? There has to be at least one way out of here. I don't believe you."

"Trust me," Toriel warned Frisk.. "You don't want to know what it is."

Frisk grew frustrated at every passing minute. He wanted to know a way out of the monster realm as soon as possible. "It looks like I have to force an answer out of her." Frisk thought. Frisk was going to fight Toriel, but she realized immediately and stopped him.

"Don't get so heated. Just rest here. Your wounds are really bad." Toriel said. "It could lead to more injuries."

Frisk felt throbbing pain all over his body. It was unbearable. "Damn, she is right. I should probably focus on recovering for now. I guess I will ask her later." Frisk thought. Frisk finally calmed down and then Toriel let go of him.

"I'll go downstairs and prepare some food for you. Stay here, okay?" Toriel suggested.

Toriel left the room right after saying that. The room got quieter. Frisk could not move an inch because of the throbbing pain he had. He had suffered major injuries in his battle with Flowey. "Looks like Flowey's seed bullets are more powerful than I thought. They really cut very deep. I don't know if I could be even alive today if it weren't for Toriel. I owe her a lot." Frisk thought.

Silence filled the whole room, which made Frisk bored. Frisk had nothing else to do. He then stared at the bookshelf that had a few books in it. He wondered about what kind of books they were. He went up to the bookshelf and took a book out. It had the title of "Human and Monster" written on it. Curious to know what was written in the book, Frisk opened the book and started reading.

"Human and monster. Long ago, there were two races that lived in the world, coexisting with each other. Even though that was the case, the humans have never acknowledged monsters and sees them as something that is on the level of animals. Monsters were often discriminated in human kingdoms. There have been a few wars between humans and monsters. There was no clear winner. Both sides lost a considerable amount of their forces. To reduce the bloodshed, the two races finally came to an agreement and decided to coexist with each other. Even though they coexisted with each other, monsters were usually discriminated, because they are 'lesser humans'. There were a lot of groups of humans who did not trust monsters and wanted monsters to be exterminated from the face of the world. Monsters kept suffering under their hands. Many of the problems that monsters were facing were not addressed and left out like it does not matter. Even though all these things happened, monsters and humans were in an alliance with each other. However, this peace was immediately broken when a mysterious entity named 'Beast' appeared. The 'Beast' destroyed a town. This town was a rich town, containing a lot of the Zua kingdom's nobles. That was all it took to break the trust between humans and monsters. And people who were against monsters used this opportunity to label all monsters as 'mindless savages' and 'killing machines'. And because of this, all the human kingdoms of the world declared war on all monsters. And then, the first Blood War broke out. It was a war between humans and monsters. Humanity unified together to destroy monsters. Monsters were forced to fight back. A few years after the war started, the humans finally got the upper hand of the war. There were already a lot of casualties on both sides. It was the bloodiest war that the world has ever seen. There was little hope for the monsters to win the war. However, their king at the time, Cleitus was killed by the humans. With their king's death, the monsters received a huge blow. Casualties were increasing on both sides, and it produced undesirable results. And then, Prince Zach was placed on the throne as the new king of monsters. After seeing many of his fellow clansmen die, King Zach decided to surrender to the humans. This means that King Zach had to follow each and everything the humans requested him to follow. King Zach's decision caused many problems within the monsters. The monsters were divided into two: the ones who supported King Zach's ideals and those who opposed him. However, both sides knew that fighting right then and there could get them wiped out. So, they did not fight just yet. The humans made a lot of demands that would be very difficult to follow for monsters. The humans made two demands. One, to sacrifice the best warriors of the monster kingdom. And two, never to share the world with humans again. King Zach found these demands to be very difficult to deal with. However, he went along with these demands and sacrificed over hundreds of the most elite warriors in the monster kingdom. After King Zach sacrificed those warriors, he went along with the second demand that the humans made, which was to leave that world. And there, humans forced all the monsters inside a mountain, creating a powerful portal with an unbreakable barrier. And then, monsters were sent here, to this unknown dimension. Monsters have tried to break the barrier multiple times, but the barrier could not be broken by anyone. So, most of the monsters blamed the cause of this predicament to be King Zach. It did not take too long for a civil war to arise within the monsters. The traitorous coward King Zach was finally killed by the rebel leader Daniel. Monsters who had rebelled against King Zach were supporting Prince Keith, who is King Zach's brother. The rebellion started a few years after they were locked in the dimension with the barrier. Most of the monsters blamed it on King Zach. And so, after King Zach was killed, King Keith took on the throne and started trying to go back to the normal world. And so far, nothing has ever made it through the barrier. All the attempts at breaking the barrier had ended in failure. It has been this way for hundreds of years now."

Frisk finally finished reading the book. He was surprised to find out what really happened to the monsters. It was the complete opposite of what he had been taught. "I always thought that monsters were evil beings that killed anyone and anything without hesitation. That's what I have been taught. One of these sources is lying. I am sure of it. I will need to find out what really happened. And who actually was at fault here." Frisk thought. Frisk then closed the book and put it in the bookshelf. He went right back to the bed and lay on there. He was in deep thought. He thought of ways to escape the dimension, but he did not have any information.

Frisk got back up and decided to check the bookshelf to see if there were any books that contained any information on how to get out of the dimension. He took one book after the other. And he could not find any book that contained any information on how to get out of the dimension. Most of the books that were in the bookshelf were children's stories. "So, there is no information on how to get out of here, huh? This honestly is annoying. Looks like I have to find it out on my own." Frisk thought. He started feeling very tired all of a sudden and went back and laid on the bed. And then, he fell asleep.
