Chapter 58: Message To My Brother
Dear Daniel,
I find it odd how our mother and father left you at an orphanage while they let me stay with them as I grew up. I was only five when you were born, so I guess that they thought that one kid was enough. I am still shocked that they gave you up for adoption instead of keeping the family together. However, I had a feeling that we would be reunited one day. As I grew up, I would often try to look for you when I had the time. Sadly, I had no luck in finding you. Worse still, I believed that you were gone forever.
Then, one day, the meteor struck Acmetropolis. Seeing as there was panic all over the place, I prayed that I would find you when everything settled down. While doing so, I was unfortunate enough to get caught in the shockwaves. When I woke up, I discovered that I had the ability to manipulate lightning and the ability to manipulate electric currents. I kept these new powers hidden, as I didn't want anyone to see me using them. In fact, I didn't want to hurt anyone with my powers.
For six years, I had worked for the government. My specialty was rescue missions, but they usually happened on the other side of Acmetropolis. I hoped that, on one of those rescue missions, I would find you. However, I had no such luck. Most of the people I rescued were anthropomorphic animals who were being held hostage or trafficked, but I never once saw a duck as one of the hostages. While I did manage to get massive payments for my duties, it didn't make me feel better.
Three months after the meteor strike, I overheard a news report about a new team of superheroes called the Loonatics. That was when I saw you. Those black feathers and blue eyes weren't a coincidental look, they were yours. You were back, but you were different. In fact, you had changed your name to Danger Duck. I couldn't help but facepalm when I heard that. If only our parents could see you now.
Anyway, I have written this letter to you so that we could talk sometime. I wish to see you again, especially right now. It has been a year and a half since the meteor struck Acmetropolis, but I intend on seeing you again. If I have to join the Loonatics, so be it. There's no need to be afraid of this letter, I'm not a bad person. Also, I had no other way to contact you, sorry about that.
Take care Daniel "Danger" Duck,
Sincerely yours,
Teagan Duck
P. S. I put a DNA test in the envelope as well, so that confirms that we're related.
Note: Yep, there's another Loonatics OC of mine. As I am writing a new Loonatics story, I feel that it's necessary to give my OCs a chapter before I introduce them. I should probably do one for Diane. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like. Until next time guys, peace!
