Chapter 70: Magic Carpet Ride
Once upon a time, there was a Prince by the name of Fox McCloud. His family ruled over the land of Corneria, to the approval of the citizens. Despite that, Fox had become bored. His duties made him unable to do whatever he wanted, which alienated him from his friends. In addition, he was rarely allowed to leave the castle. However, something would relieve the vulpine Prince's boredom.
I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine
On a cloud of sound I drift in the night
Any place it goes is right
Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here
One night, Fox saw a cobalt blue vixen flying towards him on a floating carpet. It might've been hard to believe, but the vixen was on a magic carpet. She was right around Fox's age, if not slightly younger. In addition, she had pretty green eyes, which reminded Fox of emeralds.
"Who are you?" Fox asked.
"Krystal," the vixen introduced herself, "and you are?"
"Prince Fox McCloud." The orange vulpine stated.
"Nice to meet you, your majesty." The cobalt vixen said.
"You too, but why are you here?"
"I'm here to ask you this: want to go on a ride on my magic carpet?"
"My parents will be mad at me if they see that I had left the castle without permission."
"Don't worry, it's only a ride. I'll bring you back to the castle, I promise."
Well, you don't know what we can find
Why don't you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don't know what we can see
Why don't you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl, look inside girl
Let the sound take you away
Hesitating, Fox climbed onto the magic carpet.
"Hold on tight!" Krystal told him.
Fox did as he was told, sitting close to Krystal. After that, the magic carpet gave flight. As it flew over the land, the Prince felt something strong. In fact, he felt like he was having fun. He smiled, getting closer to Krystal as she took him for a ride on her magic carpet.
"Fun, am I right?" Krystal asked.
"Yes," Fox said, "I'm not usually allowed to do stuff like this. My parents say I have to do my duties. It feels like they don't care about me at times."
"Now, your parents love you, my Prince." The cobalt vixen said. "Maybe, by speaking to them, you can manage to have them loosen up."
"Thanks for the advice." The orange vulpine said.
"You're welcome." The vixen smiled.
Last night I held Aladdin's lamp
And so I wished that I could say
Before the thing could answer me
Someone came and took the lamp away
I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found
After half-an-hour of flying, Fox spoke up.
"Can we head back to the castle?" He asked.
"Oh, sure, your parents must be wondering where you are." Krystal said as she steered the magic carpet in the direction of the castle. Once they were at the castle, Fox and Krystal saw King James and Queen Vixy looking around in Fox's room. Climbing off the carpet, Fox was greeted by his parents.
"Son, where in the blazes have you been?" The King asked.
"It's past your bedtime!" The Queen said as she crossed her arms.
"I took a ride on Krystal's magic carpet." Fox stated.
"Krystal the Sorceress?" The Queen asked.
"Yes, that's me." Krystal hung her head in shame.
"Now, young lady, you had no right to take our son on a magic carpet ride!" The King scolded.
"I know," the cobalt vixen said, "I'm sorry."
"Mother, father, it was my idea." Fox said. "Krystal simply asked, and I accepted her offer. Don't punish her, she's not a bad person."
"She's a sorceress, son, but your mother and I will decide on what to do with her." James said prior to walking out of the room.
"Head back to bed." Vixy said to Fox before turning to Krystal. "I'll make sure you get off easy."

James and Vixy decided to let Krystal off with a warning, which made Fox happy. In addition, they decided to let Fox have some freedom. When that order was given, the Prince made some friends. He even attracted the eye of some of the women in the village. However, none of them made him feel as happy as Krystal did. The cobalt vixen felt the same way, in spite of her status as a sorceress.
Now that they were closer, Fox and Krystal had agreed to go on occasional magic carpet rides. While they did so, Krystal would use her magic to right some wrongs in the village. In addition, Fox would write down the names of those who broke the law. The two foxes made a good team, and they would until the end of their days, that role falling to the hands of their descendants. The younger foxes made sure to fill their parents shoes, and they lived happily ever after.
Note: That was fun, wasn't it? I didn't think that I would write this chapter today, but I did. There are four more song-based chapters for me to write in the future, so stay tuned. What did you guys think about this chapter? Let me know when you leave a review or give a constructive criticism stating what you like and what you don't like.
