Catherine ( Cat) Greene

(New South Park, Marsh Residence)

Cat Greene knocked on the door, but none answered.

She sighed then knocked again, still no answer.

Why the hell isn't Marsh answering?! Cat thought to herself.

Does he expect me to wait for whenever he's ready? It's December; I'll freeze if he makes me wait any longer.

Cat was about to knock again but stopped when she noticed the door was opening.

Stanley Marsh smiled as he opened the door for her.

For the first few seconds, Cat felt like smiling as she looked at Stanley. His handsome face made her want to flutter away, but she changed her face quickly so he wouldn't notice her smile.

"Your late, Mr.Marsh," Cat said as she walked past Stanley and sat down on the couch.

"How the hell am I late? Your in my house." Stanley asked.

"You should have opened the Door sooner, and I could have frozen to death out there."

"It's in the mid-fifties out there. You would have been fine."

"It's not polite to leave a lady outside to freeze, especially when she's doing you a favor."

"That's funny."

"What's so funny?"

Stanley grabbed two sodas from the fridge and laid them on the table for him and the cat.

"You didn't answer me; what was so funny?"

Stanley rolled his eyes as he took a sip of cola then answered.

"It's just hard to imagine you as a lady, cat."

Cat Stared at Stanley for a moment before getting up, grabbing her textbook, and opening the door.

"Wait, cat, don't go."

Cat turned around and looked back at Stanley.

"Why shouldn't I?

Stanley looked down for a moment before looking back up.

"Because without your help, I'm gonna fail history."

"Is that all?"

"No, it's because we're friends; we've been close friends ever since we were in Diapers. Doesn't that count for anything?"

"I'm still not convinced...you know what I want to hear."

Stanley sighed, then said: It's because you are the smartest kid in school, and I'm not Evan in the top ten. It would be a righteous act if you would help me pass history."

Cat then smiled, closed the door, and walked back to the couch.

"Good, now let's begin."

Cat loved to hear Stanley grovel and praise her intellect. That was one of the things she liked about him; he was so cute when he did that.

"Cat, why are you blushing?" Stanley asked.

Cat's face turned as red as a tomato.

"N-no reason, let's begin. So what area do you need the most help in?" Cat asked.

"Mother superior Maggie said that I need to write a five-page essay on the French and Indian War, and it needs to get an A- at the very least so I can pass."

"Sheesh, you need that good of a grade; how close to failing are you?"

"I'm one more bad grade away from failing."

"Well, don't worry, Catherine Greene is here to help. Let's begin with the beginning of the war."

Cat then got out her vast textbook and turned to page 845.

"Geez, do you have to read all that? Can't we copy and paste stuff off of Wikipedia?"

"Noway, remember how pissed Mother Superior Maggie got when Herman Cartman did that for his Thanksgiving report? He got the paddle."

Stanley gulped as he Remembered this.

"Ok, let's read."

As the two read about the beginning of the French and Indian war, Cat and Stanley worked for what felt like hours.

As they were studying, Cat looked at Stanley while he was reading. He was so handsome when trying to concentrate, with his Raven black hair and Ice blue eyes. She liked Stanley, she always had, ever since her parents had moved into the house next to his. When they had met, he was her only friend, they had always played together, went trick or treating together, and Evan spent the holidays with each other, Stanley had spent time with her during Hanukkah, and she had spent time with him during Christmas. When She had started to like boys, she had daydreamed about Stanley being her boyfriend once, At first, the idea seemed weird, but as she kept thinking about it, she had come to realize that she like-liked Stanley. The only other people who knew of her true feeling for her friend were her parents, Francis and Nelly, and her best friend, Jessica Malkinson, Scott and Sophie's daughter.

She had wanted to tell Stanley numerous times that she liked him, but every time the opportunity came around, she either got too nervous, or something else came upright when she told him, and the moment was lost. Her mother had said to her that she should not feel worried about making the first move; women of the 21st century did not need such social rules, and Cat had believed her. She promised herself that she would wait till Thanksgiving break, go over to his house. She would tell Stanley Marsh Jr how she felt about him, and with any luck, he would be her boyfriend before the holiday ended...but then as soon as she walked over to her neighbor's house, she was greated by a sight that broke her hart. Patty Tweak, Tweek's Daughter, was kissing Stanley.

Patty had run back to her house before anyone saw her and cried most of the night. Then after a while, her sadness had turned into Depression, then rage!

How dare Patty steal away her Stanley! She didn't know him as well as cat did; how could she dare to compete with the cat? She knew she had the Brains, the looks, and the determination to beat Patty Tweak, but then her rage slowly turned back into Depression. She avoided Stanley for a while after that. He had tried to talk to her, but Cat couldn't look at him without seeing him and Patty kiss. So they didn't speak for a while. Up until now, they had barely interacted...still, it felt nice to be around him again.

"Ya know what, why don't we take a break?" Stanley said as he got off the couch and reached under a vase, and grabbed 30 bucks out from under it.

"My mom and dad left us money for pizza; what do you want on yours?"

"Um, pepperoni, I guess but don't you think we should continue working? We're so close to being done with your Essay."

"Having a pizza and eating it won't take up much of our time; besides, I like that we're hanging out together again."

Cat blushed.

"Y-you do?"

"Of course I do. I missed when you didn't come over as much. You know I was afraid I did something or said something to make you not wanna be my friend anymore."

Cat put down her book and walked over to Stanley.

"Stanley, you didn't do anything wrong. The reason I stopped coming by was bec-"

"Hold that thought, cat; the pizza guy just picked up."

While Stanley placed their order, Cat returned to the couch and continued working on the Essay.

This could be her chance to let Stanley know how she felt. She was sure that once she let her feelings loose, he would feel that same way and send Patty Tweak walking...or would he?

Would he dump Patty for her? Not likely. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that he probably wouldn't feel the same way. It would ruin their friendship.

After a few seconds of thinking this, Cat felt like crying and tried her best to suppress her tears.

Stanley then sat down right next to Cat, but she didn't seem to notice.

"You ok, Cat?"

"Stanley...I think I'm going to go home."

She looked over and noticed that Stanley looked a mix of surprised and disappointed.

"Why? I still need help."

"No, you don't. I finished up your essay while you were on the phone; it's A material, I assure you."

She then picked up her text book and walked towards the door.

"Your not evan gonna stay to eat your pizza?"

"No, It'll make me lose my apatite. Bye Stanley."

Before Cat could opened the Door, she felt a hand grab onto her arm.

"Cat,please don't go. I don't want you and me to drift apart again."

"We won't Stanley...I have to go."

Stanley wasn't convinced,he knew she wasn't telling him something.

"Before you go,can you at least tell me what it was that I did or said that made you not want to be friends anymore?"

Cat looked sadly at Stanley. She lightly grabbed his arm and gently lowered it back to his side.

Stanley noticed a tear running down Cat's cheek,he whipped it away and looked into Cat's Hazel eyes.

"Cat,what's going on with you?"

Cat whipped another tear away before looking into the eyes of the boy she loved.

"Stanley...I-"

Bing bong

"You better answer that,it's probably the pizza guy."

"Ok but I still wanna hear what you have to say."

Cat smiled then said: I'm not going anywhere.

Stanley opened the door but to his surprise, his girlfriend Patty Tweak was standing on the stupe.

Patty gave Stanley a peck on the cheek.

Cat noticed the look of fondness Stanley had when he looked at Patty. He never looked at her that way and she doubted that he ever would.

"Ya know what,Stanley, I have to go. See you at school." Cat said as she ran out. She made sure to step on one of Patty's foot as she ran out!

"Ow!" She heard Patty say as she ran out.

Stanley called after her but Cat ignored him.

She opened the front door to her house and ran up to her room but she didn't cry, oh no she would not do that. No more crying in the corner for her. She looked at the punching bag she used for Krav Maga practice and imagined Patty Tweak's stupid face looking back at her then it's said:You know he'll never care about you the way he cares about me. Your too much a Tomboy Bookworm and-"

Cat punched the bag so hard it fell from the ceiling and fell to the floor!

Cat took a few deep breaths. Destroying her punching bag probably was going overbored but it did make her feel good.

"See,this is why he doesn't like you Cat. Boys like Stanley prefer someone less complicated." Patty's voice said from in her head.

"You may be right,Patty but there's one thing we complicated girls have that scatterbrains like you don't have, a brain! I'm going to make your life a living hell! I'll ruin your and Stanley's relationship every chance I get and who knows maybe some day Stanley will relise who truly loves him but for now I will take great pleasure in making your life a living hell!

(The Next day, St.Philip's Elementary School)

Mother Superior Maggie looked over Stanley's essay.

"Well I must say this Shows marked improvement,I must stay,Stanley."

"So do I pass history?"

"It's by then skin of your teeth but yes."

Stanley smiled.

"Thanks mother Superior."

Stanley turned around and began to walk out but stoped when Mother Superior Maggie spoke again.

"Oh and Stanley, you should thank Cat for helping you with this essay." Maggie said.

"you knew she helped?"

"oh course I do. Their was no way you were going to pass without her help. I suggest you two pair up for the next project."

Stanley sighed.

"Another one?"

"Yes,it's due after your holiday break. if you want to keep your grades up, you'll work with cat."

Stanley then nodded before exiting the classroom.

Cat had secretly been listening to the conversation the whole time from outside the class room. when saw him coming out of the classroom, she tried to act like she was just walking by when Stanley came out.

"Oh,hey Stanley. what were you and the Mother Superior talking about?" Cat asked while trying to sound like she didn't care much.

"She was telling me how impressed she was with the essay you helped me with. I got the passing grade I needed."

A smile formed on Cat's face as she heard this.

"Is that so? did she say anything else?"

"ya actually. She wants us to work together again on the next class project."

"Is that so? How nice. we better get started then.

Cat Wrapped her arm around Stanley's and led him down the hall towards the exit.

Evan though she and Stanley weren't a couple ,she could still enjoy the time they spent together again and who knew, maybe Stanley would begin to see her more then as his Tomboy Bookworm friend and begin to see her as the girl who truly loved him but she wouldn't worry about that right now, now she would only enjoy the time they spent together.

The End
