Note: This chapter will be another simple crossover, because I am drained. I mean, I'm pretty much wiped out when the later hours of the day come rolling around. However, that doesn't stop me from writing stuff like this. Enjoy!
Chapter 89: The Loonatics Meet Iron Bird
It was a simple day in Acmetropolis, as the sun was shining over the city. However, there was an explosion at the bank. Out from the damaged building came a man dressed in tactical gear, which protected him from bullets. He had a few bags of money with him, having stolen them from the bank. People were running away from the armored man, desperate to get away from him.
"People of Acmetropolis," he spoke, "you will not be able to catch me! I am the Living Armor, and I'm taking over this place!"
"Not if we have anything to say about it, pal!"
Living Armor turned around to see where the voice came from. Said voice just so happened to belong to Ace Bunny of the Loonatics. Standing near him were his teammates: Lexi Bunny, Danger Duck, Slam Tasmanian, Tech E. Coyote and Rev Runner. The six heroes approached Living Armor, much to his annoyance.
"The Loonatics." He spoke. "Look, I hate to break it to you guys, but I'm wearing armor, so you can't beat me up!"
"We can still take you down with our powers, you know!" Duck claimed.
"Well, come and get me!" Living Armor shouted.
The Loonatics then began to fight Living Armor, attacking him with their powers. While the fight started out in their favor, the team was slowly being defeated by the villain. Hope wasn't lost, however, as Slam ran at the armored man. The Tasmanian devil created a tornado, hoping that it would take down Living Armor. Unfortunately, the criminal dodged it, causing the tornado to disperse. Despite that, the Loonatics got into defensive stances.
"You guys are rather rusty today!" Living Armor stated.
"Well, it's not easy to fight someone in advanced tactical gear!" Lexi said.
"Yeah, take that stupid armor off!" Duck shouted.
"Not going to happen, Loonatics!" The villain told them.
Ace looked at his teammates for a moment, gesturing for them to come near him. Before they could, however, they heard a strange noise coming out of the sky.
"Now what?" Duck asked.
"I think something's coming out of the sky!" Lexi spoke.
As if on cue, something flew down and landed. It just so happened to be a strange suit of armor. The armor was red and blue with silver highlights on it. In addition to that, the suit had an avian design, complete with a helmet that had a beak on it. There were even glowing lights on the armor, indicating that it was cybernetic. The Loonatics looked at it with caution, thinking that the armor was dangerous.
"You were right, Lex." Ace whispered. "But, are we right to trust that thing?"
"I don't know, but we should be careful." Lexi whispered back.
"I can hear you speaking, you know!" A cybernetic voice came out of the armor.
The Loonatics were frozen in shock, having heard the voice come from the armor. However, Rev snapped out of it and began to freak out instead.
"The-armor-talked!" Rev cried. "It-talked-like-it-was-alive! This-is-bad! This-is-very-very-bad! The-armor-might-be-an-alien-monster-for-all-we-know!"
"Relax, dummy, I'm not a monster!" The armor spoke. "But, I see that you and your friends were fighting that idiot, so I came to help!"
"We can handle Living Armor, he's no different than the other villains we have fought!" Tech stated.
"But the battle is shifting towards his favor!" The cybernetic armor said. "I've also dealt with guys like him before and, trust me, he has a weakness!"
"Well guys, looks like we're trusting Mr. Robot here!" Ace said.
"I'm not a robot, I'm a person." The armor sighed.
"Are we going to continue this battle or what?!" Living Armor impatiently asked.
"You heard him, guys!" Lexi said as she cracked her knuckles.
The Loonatics, joined by the mysterious, cybernetic armor, rushed towards Living Armor. This time, the team was doing better than how they did during the first round of the battle. In fact, the unknown being was helping them get the upper hand. Even Living Armor couldn't take them down, as he got shot at by lasers embedded in the armor's palms. However, the villain didn't go down easily, as he rushed at the armored being and the Loonatics.
"We need to blind him!" The armor spoke.
"Duck, throw some Eggs at him!" Ace shouted.
"On it!" Duck said as he fired several Eggs at Living Armor, which covered his eyes in mud.
Now that Living Armor was blinded, the Loonatics ran at him, taking him down with their powers. As for the being, they flew towards the villain, as if they were watching the battle from the sidelines. To their surprise, the Loonatics had taken down the criminal. However, Living Armor started to get up from the ground. Luckily, the being shot at him with a stun gun, which knocked him out.
"Those six should be lucky that I did that." The armored being spoke to themselves.
Moments later, the police came by and arrested Living Armor, promising to remove his outfit. After that, the Loonatics spoke with the cybernetic armored being.
"I guess that we should thank you for your help." Ace spoke.
"You guess?" The armor spoke. "Without me, you guys would've exhausted yourself against Living Armor!"
"In our defense," Tech spoke, "I didn't invent anything that could destroy Living Armor's suit."
"Not using an invention aside, you could've used a different strategy to fight that guy." The unknown being said.
"Great, we're being lectured by a guy in a robotic suit of armor." Duck sarcastically said.
"Who are you anyway?" Lexi asked.
"You can call me Iron Bird." They stated.
"Can-we-see-what's-behind-that-helmet?" Rev asked. "Can-we? Can-we? Can-we?"
"Sorry, but I prefer to keep my identity hidden from you. As far as I'm concerned, we're strangers."
"Will we ever see you again?" Ace asked.
"We might, or we might not. Goodbye for now, Loonatics!"
Iron Bird then flew off, looking down to see the Loonatics waving at him. Back on the ground, the team watched the armored being fly away.
"Weird." Duck said.
Iron Bird flew up to the rooftop to the building, where a spaceship was waiting on them. Approaching it and looking around, they carefully took off the helmet of the armor they were in. The being was then revealed to be a red and blue pheasant with green eyes. He let out a sigh as he climbed into his ship. After that, the avian began to fly his ship out of Acmetropolis.
"I should thank the CDF for letting me use this exoskeleton." The pheasant said to himself. "I wonder if they have ones for every one else in the team."
Note: As Marvel keeps making movies, among other things, I decided to parody Iron Man. However, I used another popular character, albeit one from a video game franchise. Now that I've completed this, I hope that all of you are ready for the next chapter, which is another song-based chapter. Stay tuned for it. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
