Note: Here we are, everyone, another song-based chapter. This time around, I decided to focus on two characters you may know and love. Enjoy!
Chapter 90: Wild Horses
In the city of Paris, a skunk lay in his bed. He was rather depressed, as he felt lonely. The striped creature had been laying in his room for days, not even getting out to go to different locations. This skunk just so happened to be Pepé Le Pew, one of the most famous Looney Tunes. While laying in his bed, Pepé looked at the ceiling and sighed.
Childhood living
Is easy to do
The things you wanted
I bought them for you
While looking at the ceiling, Pepé thought about his girlfriend, Penelope Pussycat, and the time they spent together. The two met when they were children, where they spoke for a few minutes before walking away from each other. They wouldn't see each other again until they were adults. Now that they were grown up, Pepé flirted with Penelope, hoping to make her feel special. At first, the cat was repulsed by the skunk's antics, but she grew to like him back. They eventually started dating, with Pepé buying gifts for Penelope, complimenting her and being an overall gentleman to her.
Graceless lady
You know who I am
You know I can't let you
Slide through my hands
"What happened?" Pepé asked himself. "How did everything go zo wrong?"
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Pepé wanted to go back to Penelope. He wanted to apologize for what he had done. But, the skunk had the feeling that she wouldn't take him back. The cat's feelings had been hurt, he understood. With that in mind, Pepé would have to write out his feelings or give a speech to Penelope for his apology. Either way, it would probably take Penelope a while to forgive him.
I watched you suffer
A dull aching pain
Now you've decided
To show me the same
After fifty dates, Pepé noticed that Penelope was starting to feel sick. In addition to that, the cat claimed that she felt a throbbing pain in her chest. Believing that he was responsible for what was happening to her, the skunk broke up with his girlfriend. Once the words were out, Pepé saw Penelope tear up. When he tried to apologize, she only told him that she wouldn't forgive him for what he did.
No sweeping exit
Or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter
Or treat you unkind
Coughing into his elbow, Pepé saw that their was blood in his saliva. Concerned, he decided to call a doctor and schedule an appointment for tomorrow. After all, it was better than staying in his room for another day.
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
The next day, Pepé went to the doctor's office. Once he got there, the skunk explained what had happened the other night. Upon hearing that, the doctor had the striped animal do a blood test. After a few minutes, Pepé saw the doctor come back with results.
"I've got bad newz for you, mon amie, you tested positive for ze HIV viruz." The doctor said.
"Doez zat mean I have AIDS?" Pepé asked, fearing the worst.
"Unfortunately, yez." He said. "You have three months left to live, zo I recommend zpending it with your loved onez."
Pepé thought to himself for a moment, deciding to make an important call when he got home.
I know I've dreamed you
A sin and a lie
I have my freedom
But I don't have much time
Once he got home, Pepé called Penelope. While the cat was not happy to hear from him, her tone changed when she heard the bad news. She promised that she would be over in a few minutes. Upon hearing that, Pepé felt happy, if not depressed because of the bad news. The moment she arrived, Penelope was greeted by Pepé. The two shared a hug before deciding to sit down.
Faith has been broken
Tears must be cried
Let's do some living
After we die
"I can't believe that you have AIDS." Penelope sighed.
"I can't believe it either, mon cherie, but I guezz it comez to those who are unlucky to tezt pozitive for the viruz." Pepé said.
"I just wish that there was a cure for it," the cat stated, "so that a lot of people, including you, can feel better."
"You being here iz good enough of a cure for me." The skunk said.
Penelope then got an idea, looking at Pepé with a smile on her face.
"I know another way to make you feel better." She said.
"And I can guezz what it iz." Pepé stated.
"Of course, you can." Penelope said.
Pepé and Penelope then shared a kiss, laying down on Pepé's bed. After that, the two got intimate deciding to make the evening worthwhile.
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
We'll ride them some day
After having intercourse, Pepé proposed to Penelope. While she knew that he wouldn't be around for long, the cat accepted the skunk's hand in marriage. At the reception, the black and white cat promised that she would keep the wedding ring, even after her significant other died. During the honeymoon, Pepé and Penelope got intimate again, falling asleep in each other's arms. For the next three months, the married couple would do anything they could. That was until Penelope woke up one morning and found Pepé sitting in a chair, completely motionless.
Wild horses
Couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses
We'll ride them some day
Standing at Pepé's grave, Penelope only sighed and looked down at the bump on her belly.
"Your father is buried in the ground," she spoke, "but he was a lovely person. I hope that you inherit it from him, my little one."
Note: Never thought that I would write a story about Pepé Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat, but I did. Seeing as there has been controversy about Pepé, I decided to portray him in a positive way: a loving boyfriend. I just couldn't think of a plot of a story that would go along with the song. This is also the second, and final, chapter that I will use a song by The Rolling Stones in. There are two song-based chapters left, but I already have the songs picked for them. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
