Note: I'm bored. So bored, in fact, I just want to fall asleep. However, as I feel the urge to get this massive collection finished, I found a way to keep myself active. This chapter might be a short one, given how I'm prepared to write the next chapter, but I hope you like it. Enjoy!

Chapter 94: Slippy's Idea of a Punishment

At the Great Fox, Slippy Toad was working on the Arwings. All of them were damaged, but they were still functional. While working on repairs, Slippy thought about what happened earlier. In the afternoon, Star Fox was on Corneria, simply hanging out for the day. Before anyone could get into their Arwings, the ships exploded. Even though no one was hurt, everyone on the team had to have a checkup to see if they were fine. By using her telepathy, Krystal was able to determine that the Arwings were rigged to blow by Star Wolf. It wasn't out of spite, but rather a sick joke.

Thinking about what Star Wolf did, Slippy felt frustrated. For as long as the toad could remember, the team had been a thorn in Star Fox's side, even if they helped to defeat the Aparoids. No matter what happened, Wolf O'Donnell and his cronies would just make the team's life a living hell. Simply shooting down those creeps wasn't enough to reach them a lesson. No, Slippy began to work out an idea to punish the three space pirates. Once he got done repairing the Arwings, the amphibian took off for Sargasso, intent on following through on his plan.

At the Sargasso Space Station, Wolf was overlooking the ruffians who worked for his team. He felt more relaxed than ever, knowing what he and his two teammates, Leon Powalski and Panther Caroso, did earlier in the day. As part of a practical joke on Star Fox, Star Wolf rigged their Arwings to explode. To avoid detection, they wore sets of power armor to conceal themselves, to the point where no one with a sixth sense like Krystal couldn't sense for them. After all, it would've been risky for Wolf, Leon and Panther to pull off, given the cobalt vixen's telepathy. To Wolf and Leon's disappointment, and Panther's happiness, no one in Star Fox was hurt.

Maybe we should try something different next time. Wolf thought to himself. Perhaps Leon and I can use a blaster that strips people naked, blast Star Fox with it, and photograph them while they're naked. Oh, how I'll love to hear everyone in the Lylat System laughing at them!

"Wolf, we've got a situation!" Leon rushed up to the lupine.

"What is it?" Wolf asked.

"Something weird just showed up at the deck!" The chameleon stated. "I think it might be a bomb!"

"A bomb, eh?" The one-eyed lupine asked. "Where's Panther at?"

"He's trying to disarm it!" The lizard said.

"Well, let's go help him!" The canine stated.

Wolf and Leon rushed to the docking bay, where Panther was trying to disarm the bomb. The black jungle cat was struggling to look for the red wire, but there was no sign of it.

"Panther, leave it alone!" Wolf shouted.

"Hold on," Panther said, "I almost got it! I just need to sever the wire that will disarm it!"

"Let the bomb go, you fool!" Leon yelled.

"Wait, I think I got it!" The black jungle cat stated.

All of a sudden, the bomb stopped working. Panther had severed a purple wire, which appeared to be what was causing it to function. Now that it was disarmed, Star Wolf was ready to break it down into parts.

If only they knew what was going to happen next.

The bomb started to release a blue cloud. Before they could get away from it, Wolf, Leon and Panther found themselves engulfed by it. In only a few seconds, Star Wolf was knocked out by a gas. After that, Slippy stepped out into the open. He had cloaked his Arwing to avoid detection, setting the gas-filled bomb out as a trap. Now that Wolf, Leon and Panther were out, the toad smiled, knowing that his plan was working.

"Alright, time to get them back to HQ!" Slippy said.

Back at the Great Fox, Fox, Falco and Krystal were just sitting in the living room. The three were relaxing, all in different ways. Fox was doing push-ups, Falco was listening to some music, and Krystal was reading a book. Nothing much was bothering them at the moment. That was until a familiar voice rang out.

"Hey guys, can I come in?"

Looking up, Fox, Falco and Krystal saw Slippy standing next to the elevator. The toad was wheeling a cart that had something under a tarp. While Fox and Falco were curious, Krystal shuddered. The cobalt vixen's telepathy had revealed that something grim was under the tarp. However, she didn't speak up.

"You were probably wondering where I went." Slippy spoke. "To put it bluntly, I went to Sargasso and took care of some business."

"Sargasso?" Falco asked. "Star Wolf's base? Did you annoy Star Wolf to death while you were there?"

"No," the toad said, "but I brought them here."

"Where are they?" Fox asked. "And what's under the tarp?"

"I'm glad you asked, Fox!" The amphibian happily stated.

Pulling the tarp off of the cart, Slippy revealed what was underneath: statues of Wolf, Leon and Panther. Walking towards the statues, Fox and Falco curiously looked at them. To their surprise, the sculptures didn't look like they were made out of stone, plastic, or even wax. The features on the pieces of art were surprisingly detailed, as if Slippy got everything right when he made them. However, something about the statues just seemed off.

"These are pretty good, Slippy!" Fox said.

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to be such a sculptor, especially since these statues are based on our rivals." Falco stated.

"Oh, I have plenty of talents!" Slippy giggled.

All of a sudden, the statue of Wolf began to moan. The noise startled Fox and Falco, who stepped back from the statues. As for Krystal, she was practically frozen in fear. Her telepathy told her the truth behind the statues, and it frightened her. Concerned, Fox and Falco looked at her.

"Are you okay, Krys?" Fox asked.

"I'm scared of those statues." Krystal answered.

"Sure, they're detailed as hell, but Slippy put a lot of work into them." Falco said.

"They're not really statues." The cobalt vixen shivered.

"Krys, they can't move, talk, or do anything that a living being can do." The pheasant stated. "So, they're statues."

"No, they aren't!" She said. "That's the real Star Wolf! Slippy froze them with that petrification device that we retrieved from that criminal gang!"

Fox and Falco gasped, looking at Slippy.

"Surprise!" The toad happily said.

"Slippy, why would you do that to them?!" Fox asked, both horrified and angry.

"C'mon, Fox, it's not like Wolf and his goons ever leave us alone!" The amphibian said. "I just decided to punish them my way this time!"

"Was turning them into statues really necessary?!" Falco asked.

"Well, it's not like they learn anything from when we beat them!" The younger male argued.

"Slippy, please turn them back!" Krystal said.

"Only if they promise to never pull any practical jokes like the one they pulled today ever again!"

Sighing out of reluctance, Fox approached the petrified Star Wolf, speaking with them.

"What do you say guys?" The orange tod asked. "Do you agree to not do anything like what you did today again, or do you want to stay statues?"

Star Wolf let out muffled sighs of annoyance, but they complied. Upon hearing that, Slippy took out the device and unfroze them. Now that they were freed, Wolf, Leon and Panther were taken back to Sargasso. From that moment on, the three of them agreed to never do one of their cruel practical jokes ever again. After all, it was better to stay active instead of being a statue for the rest of your life.

Note: Alright, I admit, I might have made this chapter a bit messed up. However, Star Wolf should be thankful that Slippy freed them. This chapter was done out of the Halloween spirit. Now that I've completed this, the next song-based chapter is coming out next week. Stay tuned. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
