Note: I have worked on this chapter throughout the week, usually when I wasn't working on one of my other stories. As a fair warning, this chapter will be something nice and easy. I might do something M-rated after this. I don't know what it will be about, though. Anyway, here's chapter 97. Enjoy!
Chapter 97: Lisa's Encounter
Lisa Raccoon was walking through the Evergreen Forest, minding her own business. There was nothing much going on that day. In fact, it had been a quiet, peaceful day. While the raccoon walked, she heard something walking through the trees. Alarmed, Lisa continued to walk, trying her hardest to avoid the sound. However, she didn't know what was about to happen.
All of a sudden, Lisa heard something approaching her. Frightened, she ran for her life, wanting to avoid contact with whatever was coming her way. As she ran, however, the raccoon bumped into someone. Because of that, the young woman fell to the ground.
"Now, what was that for?" A gentle voice asked.
Looking up and rubbing her head, Lisa looked up and saw the person she bumped into. Due to the kind voice, the raccoon half-expected it to be Schaefer. However, it wasn't Schaefer at all. Rather, the person Lisa had bumped into was a brown bear who was nearly a foot taller than her. He was wearing a ranger's hat, jeans and boots. The ursine held out his hand to Lisa, helping her to get up from the ground.
"Thank you," Lisa said, blushing, "and sorry for bumping into you!"
"Is that how you celebrate an ordinary day?" The bear asked. "By bumping into people after running?"
"I didn't mean to do that, sir." The raccoon said. "I just got scared of something and ran."
"I suppose that we all have those days." The ursine said. "But, I'm not the kind of person to run from something scary."
"I can tell." The ring-tailed female said. "You're a very muscular man, Mr -"
"Smokey." He introduced himself. "You can call me Smokey."
"Nice to meet you, Smokey, my name is Lisa." The young woman stated.
"Do you have anywhere to be, Lisa?" Smokey asked.
"Not really, I was just walking through this place before I got scared." Lisa answered.
"Well then, can you come somewhere with me tonight?" The bear asked.
"Where do you want to go?" The raccoon asked.
"I'd like for you to meet me near the river." The ursine told her. "Don't worry, I've got nothing malicious planned."
"Okay," the ring-tailed female said, "I'll see you there."
"As will I." The larger male said as he walked off.
An hour later, Lisa went down to the river. Prior to doing so, she told her parents where she was going, promising to be back as soon as she could. Once she made it to her destination, the raccoon saw Smokey sitting under a tree. The bear looked peaceful, simply smiling as he looked out to the distance. Approaching him, Lisa slowly walked. She then sat near Smokey, quietly enough to not disturb him.
"You're here." He spoke.
"Sorry if I'm late!" Lisa stated.
"Oh no," Smokey said, "you're perfectly fine. I'm just watching the river. Care to join me?"
Lisa then looked out to the distance, watching the river run. While doing so, Smokey pulled her closer to him. The two continued to watch the river, admiring nature.
"Isn't it beautiful?" Smokey asked.
"Yeah," Lisa answered, "it's really pretty. I don't know why people make a mess of stuff like this."
"It's not just rivers that are important, Lisa." The bear told her. "Trees and air are also important. But certain people fail to see that, which is why the environment is in danger. If everyone were to work together, we could help the world we live in."
"Where would we start?" The raccoon asked.
"By preventing forest fires, of course." The larger male stated. "It's efforts from people like you that help the world to be a better place."
"My aunt and uncle definitely agree on stuff like that. I have a feeling that you'd get along with them, Smokey."
"I'd like to meet your aunt and uncle. What do they do?"
"They run a newspaper called the Evergreen Standard. There not the only workers, though."
"I think I know where their office is. I might talk with them when I have the time."
"I hope that they don't freak out when they see you."
"I hope so too, Lisa, I hope so too."
Lisa and Smokey continued to watch the river, enjoying nature's beauty. After a while, the sun began to set, turning the afternoon into dusk. Upon seeing that, Lisa stood up and got ready to leave.
"I should get going," she said, "I promised my family that I would be back."
"Well, go ahead, I won't keep you here if you have a place to be." Smokey said.
"Before I go, I want to give you something." Lisa said.
"What is it?" The bear asked.
Lisa gave Smokey a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks for the talk." She said. "Take care!"
"You too!" Smokey said.
Lisa walked away, leaving Smokey by herself. When she got home, the raccoon told her family about it. While they didn't exactly believe her, George, Nicole and Bentley were happy that Lisa talked to someone new. As for Smokey, he would eventually speak with Ralph and Melissa. While the couple were a little timid around the bear, they would warm up to him. After all, it was nice for them to meet someone who shared their environmental views.
Note: I resisted the urge to make this chapter a lemon between Lisa and Smokey. I feel like I've made more than enough stories showing Smokey making love with someone, so I decided to make something nice and easy. I just felt like it would be nice to make a little crossover with The Raccoons, as the show featured environmental themes. Until next time guys, this is Newcomer24, signing off. Peace!
