Tonks watched Remus read by the fireplace. The lines of worry that normally marred his face relaxed as he lost himself in the text. It was one of her favorite ways to see him. Untouched by the world for a short time.

His jumper had been set aside, probably because of the warmth of the fire, and she indulged in admiring the way his biceps pushed against the fabric of his white t-shirt, knowing that if she pulled the shirt over his head she'd find the same firmness along his chest.

It was funny how everyone assumed that lycanthropy left Remus weak. Tonks knew it left him fatigued.

The wolf made him anything but weak.

The absolute bloody strength of this man was overwhelming. Especially when he was holding her.

She watched a moment longer before moving to her fiance. Her index finger slid along his chin, guiding his eyes from the text up to her.

"We should get married today."

Remus blinked at her.

"I'm sorry, did you say you want to get married today?"

Tonks pulled the book from his hands and sat down on Remus' lap.

"Why, I believe I did."

"Dora." Remus' hands found her waist and Tonks felt her smile grow as he pulled her closer. "I want to give you the wedding you deserve. If we wait for things to quiet down-"

Tonks silenced him with a kiss. "When will you accept that you are all I want? Let's not wait. We'll grab my parents, mum knows a few people who could officiate, and then I'll finally be Mrs. R. J. Lupin."

Remus kissed her, a possessive kiss that left her chest heaving from the intensity.

"What on earth did I do to deserve you?" His amber eyes had gone dark as he rested his forehead against hers.

"Are we getting married today?" She slid her hands slowly up his chest, enjoying every moment, before snaking them around his neck.

"You're sure?" He brought his hand up to cup her face.

Tonks leant into the motion. "Completely."

"Then best foot forward, Dora." He smiled, rubbing his thumb against her cheek. "The day's getting away from us."

Tonks jumped up from Remus' lap in excitement, only to lose her balance and start to fall backwards.

But she didn't hit the floor, as she was accustomed to. Instead strong arms pulled her up and wrapped around her, hugging her into her favorite person.

"I've got you." Remus chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

And later that night, laying in bed next to her husband, his arms wrapped securely around her, Tonks was certain that Remus would always have her.
