Jotunheim was too quiet. Even the frozen breeze unsettled them.

Thor gripped Mjölnir tightly, stepping forward into the open. He gazed across their surroundings. Ice towers arched over them, frozen statues crumbling apart. The ground beneath them was split and uneven.

"Where are the survivors?" Fandral stepped forward, sheathing his sword. He looked up at Thor. "Odin said there were survivors." He took another step forward.

Thor stopped him and listened. He put his finger to his lips for silence. He listened to the breeze and smelled the stench of death.

Lady Sif walked beside him and knelt down, placing her hand on the ground and waited in silence. Her hand briefly touched the frozen floor, her head held high for any signs.

Volstagg stomped next to her. Thor frowned at him for silence, he nodded and clutched his axe, standing in a battle position.

Hogan, light footed, eventually walked next to Fandral. He raised his arm, the guards slowly created a formation behind them.

Thor looked back at Lady Sif, but there was no response. He grew tired and took a step forward.

"Wait," Lady Sif hissed, grabbing his ankle. He looked back at her. She slowly stood up and placed herself into a battle position, looking ahead.

Vibrations were felt beneath his feet. Thor grunted in disapproval, flipping his hammer along his hand.

An instant horde of Frost Giants leapt over the torn wreckage, forming a gathering ahead of them. Tens of thousands were appearing, smiling in unison.

"It's been a while, Thor, Son of Odin!" A tall broad Frost Giant strode through the mass of unfriendly faces. "Last time you were here, you were a coward eager for pain and revenge!" He stepped forward, embracing his arms and circling on the spot. A vast amount of sniggering echoed behind him.

"Who are you?" Thor stepped closer, tightly locking his fingers together.

"I am Dnias, Son of Laufey!" He bowed mockingly, and looked up, smiling. "And I have come to seek what you previously did."

"Laufey had another son?" Thor settled himself, curiosity covering his thoughts.

"My father was a coward to believe in your worthless brother, Loki! Thankfully he saved me, and abandoned him."

"Loki does not speak for Asgard! You know we had no part in this." Thor steadied himself.

"And I understand your confusion, brother, but it was Asgard in which my father finally lay, and it is Asgard we shall take!" He raised up, a crowd of cheers and war cries behind him.

"You are not my brother!" Thor raised his hammer, sparks of lightning formed round it, and a blast of lightning grew from the sky. "And you will not take Asgard!" He pointed Mjölnir directly to his enemies, a destruction of lightning forcing itself upon their flesh, burning and tearing them apart. Thor charged towards them, his warriors and guards by his side.

A sudden thud broke between them once colliding together in a battlefield. Thor flew Mjölnir, he chucked it in one direction, knocking the heads off his enemies while he punched his way through the endless tide of hostiles. He reached Volstagg who joyfully dismantled someone with a single head-butt. Thor laughed in approval.

"Just like old times, my friend!" Thor signalled his hammer and immediately hit it across a Frost Giant's ribs. He looked over at Volstagg who used his axe against anyone who challenged him. He swung round and grabbed a Frost Giant in a headlock, then used his axe to cut into his skull. His face grew more excited as he charged forward and tackled another to the ground.

Thor witnessed Fandral swiftly use his sword against his enemies. Being very agile, he swashbuckled his way through a sea of Frost Giants. He slid through one of their legs and sliced their feet off. The Frost Giant fell to its knees while Thor used Mjölnir against his face.

"I could do this all day!" Fandral sang as he galloped away to help out the guards.

Thor heard an angered voice charge at him, he quickly turned around, but it had already fallen to the ground with a throwing knife to its throat. He turned to Hogan who smiled at him.

Hogan flipped round and kicked a Frost Giant in the air, bringing out his spiked weapon, and slicing him to the floor. A Frost Giant came his way, he quickly threw a knife at him, making him kneel and collapse on the cold floor.

"These battles are worth fighting for!" Thor saw excitement beam on Hogan's face as he threw dozens of knives at Frost Giants.

Thor charged towards Lady Sif. She had her gem-spiked fighting staff that pierced through any vulnerable flesh it touched. She swung it around with deadly agility until no one left was standing around her. She stopped for a bit, taking a breath.

Thor came towards her and patted her on the shoulder. "Not getting tired, are we?" He smiled and watched her face bloom.

She quickly threw her staff like a javelin and charged with her shield, hitting a Frost Giant in the face, then forcefully pulled her staff out of its chest. "Thor, we have to warn the others!"

He nodded in agreement and headed towards Dnias who slaughtered every guard in his way.

"Dnias, you have to stop this madness!" Thor looked up at him. "War is not the solution. We came to help you!"

"War is the only way! My father was too cowardly to come to this conclusion!"

"Your people are in danger, a war would only cause more harm!" Only silence and space divided them as they stood before each other.

"There's nothing you can do. My men are already there!" He smiled and lunged towards him with a frozen arm, Thor roared and threw his hammer at him. Dnias flew back, Mjölnir stuck on his chest. He screamed in agony, cursing Thor and shouting for him to let him go.

Thor walked in the centre of the battlefield. Guards ran towards him, creating a circular formation around; Thor, Lady Sif and the Warriors three as they joined him. They stood before themselves, crushing every soul who stood before them. Eventually they hesitated and stopped.

"This is not a fight to win! It is a fight to end!"

The Frost Giants stood still, uncertain of what they were doing.

"We came here to aide you and help you, but all you seek is vengeance!" Thor ordered the guards to move away. "You can rebuild, and live a better life!" Thor called his hammer. Dnias jumped up and headed towards them. "You do not have to do this." He lifted his hammer up and forced it to the ground, forcing the Frost Giants to retreat.

A beam of light caught Thor and his army, they were lifted up and carried through space back to Asgard. Thor raced his way up to Heimdall.

"It was an ambush all along." Heimdall nodded his head in understanding. "Asgard is under attack!"

Thor ran back towards his allies, warning them of Asgard's sudden invasion. Angered murmurs spread.

"We need to ride out and protect our people!" Thor heard cries of war and tantrum echo within the dome.

The guards started advancing towards the kingdom, ready to attack. Thor felt a surge of betrayal creep along his spine, he shifted uncomfortably.

"Thor,"

He twitched in agitation, seeing Lady Sif place a welcoming hand on his shoulder. He eased his body, looking at her thankfully. He looked around to see his trusted friends, worn and tired from battle but eager for more. "I thank you my friends, it was ignorant of me to think that there would be peace."

"We all wanted to see an end to their schemes." Fandral stepped forward, drawing his sword. "But we must fight for our mistakes, together." He started running across the Bifrost, followed by everyone else.

Thor followed behind, swinging his hammer and lifting off above the ground. He flew through the air, but stopped midway and fell to the ground.

In front of him, Thor saw smoke and flames, destruction and pain. The sun had turned black, ash starting to form. Lady Sif and the Warriors ran up behind him and looked out. Thor looked down before him in shame. He heard screams and suffering. Instantly his head looked up, and his eyes widened. His heart stopped for a second as he realised.

"Jane..."
