Luz entered her next class, sitting down next to a girl around her age.
"Hi, I'm Luz." Luz said, "I'm... kind of new here."
"Hi, I'm Skara." She said, "I've heard a lot about you."
Luz's face became a frown. She already knew people were talking about her having the ability to take all the tracks. It was getting to her and she didn't like it. Skara seemed to notice this and gave her a small nudge.
"Hey, relax, it's pretty common for rumors to happen to new students." She said, "I remember when a girl came her before and people used to think she less than a full witch because she was failing at Abominations. She ended up switching to the Plant Track and she became the top student there."
Luz knew Skara was trying to help, but that only made her feel worse. If people treated that girl for just not being good at one type of magic, what would they do to Luz when they find out she's literally a half witch? Luz didn't really get the chance to think about it anymore, due to the fact that the Teacher walked in.
"Good morning class, I'm your Bard Teacher, Raine Whispers." Raine said, "Now, I am going to start by seeing what instrument you can play."
Elsewhere, Lucia was looking for places that are looking for a new teacher. She spent the better part of the last three hours trying to find a place to start working. She was so into it, she didn't even notice that her mom walked in with food. She set the plate on the table and closed Lucia's laptop.
"You need to rest a little." Camila said.
"I can't mom, I'm trying to look for a place to start working." Lucia said.
She reached for her laptop, but Camila pulled it away before Lucia could get it.
"No, food first, and then you can start looking again." Camila said, beginning to leave, "You're a strong Construction witch, and I happen to know that your dad is looking for a new permanent Construction teacher for his school... maybe you could apply."
Lucia's teeth bit down on a chip, right as Camila said that. It was so simple, but she didn't see it.
'Damn it, I'm an idiot.'
Her dad owns a school, why didn't she think of it to begin with.
"Thank you, mom." Lucia said, at least being on a path now.
