"Do we really have to go?" Harry asked, NOT whining, to his wife as he sat down on their floor playing with their twins. Daphne had her back facing Harry as she put on her pearl earrings. He could see her rolling her eyes at him through the mirror.
Daphne's vanity was filled with her jewelry boxes and some of her makeup. Today was a special occasion, according to her— meeting their future brother-in-law.
James and Isabelle were now 1 year old and 2 months, both already a menace to their parents with their accidental magic and constant walking around. Anywhere around the house, one or both twins would follow their parents. Even the toilet was not a space of exemption. Daphne could attest to that, and Harry could provide a memory of how walking toddlers and accidental magic can make anything possible.
Currently, Harry was on his dress pants and white button-down, robe still unattached. The twins were already dressed that matched their parents. Light green for the toddlers and a darker shade for the parents.
Daphne was now ready to go, she just finished putting the final touches on herself before turning around and looking at her husband who was the only one in the family "near-finished". The rest was already complete.
"As much as I would love to spend the night with you and the kids, we really have to attend the dinner" Daphne replied taking Harry's outer robe and handing it to him. Harry breathed and accepted his robe and wore it.
"I just can't believe I'll be brothers-in-law's with him, of all men," Harry said as he fastened his robes and walked in front of Daphne who was now fixing James and Izzie's dresses. She turned to Harry and twirled her fingers around, to which Harry complied and gave Daphne a 360 view. His wife nodded and fixed his hair a bit. Despite being an eternal mess — which his kids also had but not as messy, thank Merlin for Daphne's genes, she explained that there was a messy messy and a 'you look good type of messy'.
"But he makes Tori happy" Daphne replied and gave him a smile.
"Ty Towi?" Izzie asked as Harry picked her up, and Daphne did the same to James.
"Ty Towi ere?" James asked as the family exited the room and made their way to the fireplace in the study.
"No Jay, we will be going to Grandma and Grandpa to go see Auntie Tori" Harry explained as he adjusted Izzie on his arms. The twins upon hearing the words 'going' and 'grandma and grandpa and auntie tori' smiled and clapped their hands. This put a smile on Harry's face, and he placed a soft kiss on his daughter's cheeks.
As they reached the study, Daphne called on Annie and told her they may not come home for the night and would stay at the Greengrass Estates. Annie nodded and wished safety to her masters and mistresses.
When they reached the fireplace, James immediately shook his head. The floo network was uncomfortable for kids. Izzie even held her father's neck and hid her face. A sentiment Harry found endearing and at the same time, he couldn't help but agree. Even after all these years, he still found it uncomfortable magical modes of transportation— although now he got the hang of it and learned to tolerate it.
"Sorry sweetie," Daphne apologized with a kiss on the cheek and reached for the floo powder, "Don't worry, it will be quick" she assured their little boy before throwing the powder in the fireplace and calling for Greengrass Estate and entering the fireplace. The green flames swallowed them, and they were off.
Harry waited for a few moments before grabbing some floo powder from the mantel.
"Let's go, little miss?" Harry asked Izzie, to which was responded with a nod. Harry threw the powder at the fireplace and called for Greengrass Estate, following Daphne.

"Well, here's our little lady" Cyrus Greengrass spoke as Harry emerged from the fireplace. The soot on him and Izzie vanished and an enthusiastic Izzie who was reaching out to her grandfather was handed to Cyrus.
"Hello Harry" Roxanne Greengrass, who was carrying James, greeted Harry with a hug, to which Harry returned.
"Where's Daphne?" Harry asked his mother-in-law after releasing each other from their hug.
"Upstairs, with Tori" Roxanne replied as she put down a fuzzing James who ran to his grandfather who was approaching them.
"Harry" Cyrus came to him and gave him a manly hug. The toddlers were now clinging to their grandmother's skirt and babbling. After the brief encounter, James went to them and asked to be carried by his grandfather, to which Cyrus complied.
"So, where's the guest-of-honor?" Harry asked nonchalantly but was actually curious where his old school rival was. Harry could still remember when he was in this situation 6 years ago— palms sweaty and most definitely scared.
"At the foyer at the front, he arrived 30 minutes before you and Daphne" Cyrus replied. Harry was amazed that he came an hour and thirty minutes earlier than the supposed time for the dinner.
"Harry, would you like to talk to him for a while before dinner commence?" Roxanne asked. She stood at the side, one hand holding Izzie's small chubby ones, and had an innocent yet charming smile on her face.
If he didn't know his mother-in-law, one would think she was Izzie's mom. Harry would also think that Roxanne's comment was nothing serious and just for small talk. But 6 years being a son-in-law of Roxanne Greengrass would teach you a few things— one of which is knowing that Roxanne actually wanted Harry to talk to her future son-in-law.
Harry groaned silently, he was trying to avoid him and now was forced to approach. Better get this done fast then.
"Of course," Harry said, "Jay, Iz, behave," Harry said to his children as he walked towards the foyer. He mentally prepared himself for the awkward talk he was about to have.

"Malfoy" Harry called as he saw the blonde man pacing around the foyer. His old school nemesis whipped his head in his direction and instantly schooled his face to neutral whilst giving him a small nod.
"Potter" Draco replied with an even tone. He and Harry had now a civil relationship compared back in Hogwarts. The two tolerated each other and would often work together on some projects. Despite that, there was still tension left in the air.
The two shared an awkward silence, with a few crickets here and there. Harry just stood there and looked impassive. Merlin has mercy he was about to have more moments like this come gatherings and get together with the family in his wife.
"I apologize"
If it was possible, Harry felt like he was whiplashed.
"Pardon?"
"I said I apologize for all the shit I put you through" Draco replied with an apologetic face, "Despite those things you saved me and my family, thank you for that"
Draco Malfoy, apologizing and thanking him. Yes, they had acknowledged those things, but they were never really spoken out loud. Yet here they were, at the foyer, just a couple more minutes before dinner, talking.
"I know that you are not comfortable with me being your brother-in-law, and that being related on the Black side is already enough to make us punch each other, and now this" Draco continued gesturing around them.
"Bloody hell, if I could help it, I wouldn't add the number of relations we have," Draco said with a half-hearted sneer. Harry just kept quiet and let Draco speak. "But I love Astoria, I would do anything to make her happy. She sees you like a brother, and if getting along with you makes her happy, I'm willing to eat my pride and aim for a more amicable relationship with you Pot… Harry"
Bloody hell, his name coming from Draco just felt weird. But he does have a point. Tori, ever so loving and full of warmth Tori, was a little sister to Harry. One of the ever-growing lists of important people in his life. True, if he and Malfoy going past the formal and tolerable relationship make her happy. Not just her, but it would be easier and smoother for the family, and family was important to Harry.
"Well, it's obvious you're whipped with Tori, and I respect that," Harry said, "I suppose, it would be better if we got along for the sake of our partners and their family, so…" Harry reached out his hand to Draco and gave him a nod.
"Friends?" Harry said and noticed Draco chuckled and accepted his hand in a firm grip.
"Friends" Draco replied and gave a nod.
"Well, the handshake was just a few years late but at least it came" Draco commented earning a snort from Harry. Then they heard small feet pattering, they turned around and saw James.
"Unca wako!" James called and ran with his little feet to Draco. He was hoisted up and was carried in Draco's arms.
"Uncle Draco?" Harry asked with a raised eyebrow, amused by the flustered look the Malfoy heir showed.
"I sometimes babysit with Tori when she's watching over your kids" Draco replied and cleared his throat.
Draco Malfoy babysitting Harry's personal menace, now that's a memory he would need to ask Tori.
"Let's head inside, shall we?" Harry said as they walked in silence with James babbling which was replied by some nods and sounds from Draco.
"By the way, good luck later Draco," Harry said as he took James from Draco's arms and left the blonde man looking confused. Oh, just how amusing it is to experience the dinner from the spectators' point of view, Tori did say it was amusing seeing him squirm. Merlin, the night still hasn't started.

Hey~ first of thank you so much for everyone of faved and followed the story! This was really just a contribution to Haphne stories here in ff and you know to release some brain worms in my head about Haphne. Nothing serious just some light drabbles lol. I really love Haphne, and an aspect that I really find amusing is how it makes Harry and Draco brother-in-laws if we follow Draco x Astoria. Anyways, thank you for reading this and tell me if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
