Daphne Potter was sure they didn't own cats in the manor. Morgana, the only pets inside were owls delivering letters and Oslo and Otto — Jay and Izzie's dog, then nothing. Turns out their home was filled with cats.

The first time Daphne thought of it was back when it was just her and Harry. There was this part of the manor where unfiltered sunlight can come in. The space it landed was large and you can lay down comfortably facing the sun. You couldn't place curtains at a particular spot. According to the Potter journals, Alfred Potter decided to enchant the spot.

A bright spot in times of darkness and sorrow

Was what he wrote as a reason. Daphne appreciated the view of it, every time she comes down from their room, it was a good sight greeting her. Then one time she saw her husband on the spot.

Harry Potter was a light sleeper. One small noise or movement, he would wake up but he sleeps anywhere he feels comfortable. So, imagine the surprise on Daphne's face as she was greeted with the sight of her husband sprawled on the floor under the window where the sun came in.

He looked comfortable, by the gods he looked inviting. He was just sprawled with no mattress or anything to protect his back from the cold floor. Daphne was amused so she silently summoned a camera and took a photo of her husband.

"I probably won't see anything like it after this" Daphne said to herself quietly as she discreetly transfigured the floor for something comfortable for Harry.

It wasn't the last time Harry slept on that floor.

Daphne would occasionally witness her husband sprawled and sleeping on the floor. The frequency led to her tucking in a spare mattress or blanket, so her husband had something to put on the floor before sprawling in.

Even Teddy was dragged onto this 'phenomena'. Every time he visited, and it was time for a nap, godfather and godson were sleeping on the floor facing the sun. Teddy slept curled up like a dog and Daphne couldn't help her heart clench at the sight. Yet, every time Teddy did sleep in, Harry's sprawled position would change and curl up together with Teddy.

It was one of the pictures in the album that Daphne thought precious.

By the time the twins came in, the spot was even more used as Harry would still sleep there with the twins in their cot with a parasol covering them from the excess sun. By the time they were 2, they would sleep together with Harry on the floor. Occasionally, in each arm that was sprawled.

There was a photo of that in the photo album, especially that one time that all three had drools coming out the left corner of their mouth.

Cyril was no better. The kid refused to stop fussing until he was perched in that spot in the morning and would only sleep there during the day if he was perched in his cot at that position. That continued until two months, but Harry was patient and almost made that part of the manor his room.

By the time Cy was old enough to sleep with Harry and his sibling on the floor, he wasted no time in joining them. The twins were perched on Harry's arm, Cy on the other hand slept on top of his dad. His head on Harry's chest, the rhythm of his father's heart helping the child in a blissful sleep.

Another photo her visitors would see when she was showing them the photo albums.

Daphne would then make sure he was not going to fall and check in on the twins. At times when the air was humid, Daphne would read there as her family slept, her fan enchanted to keep the heat away from them. Jay would roll off from his father's arm and Daphne would adjust him to not hit the floor. Often, she would place Harry's head on her lap as she stayed.

There were no photos she took since she couldn't just capture them but there was one when Andy decided to check in and saw the family. Daphne's attention focused on her book as her hands idly caressed her husband's hair and the kids sleeping around.

The photo was kept with Andromeda till she gave it as a Christmas gift to Daphne. To which ensued a tearful smile and heartfelt thanks to Andy.

As a premature baby, Lily needed a lot of sunlight. Their youngest, gave quite a scare to the family as she was born still 8 months. Everyone was worried, Merlin, the healer had to take Lily as soon as she was recognized by Daphne's magic to make sure she was fine. Never had Harry and Daphne been the prayerful sort of people but that time made them call onto every god they knew for their daughter to be fine.

Once they were cleared to leave in St. Mungos, Harry had taken it into himself to make sure Lily had enough amount of sun and air as they came back home to Potter Manor. The prayers worked and Lily grew up fine.

Harry would wake up early in the morning, and take Lily to that spot, having a small towel draped on his chest where Lily's head lay. Harry's heartbeat through the towel. He would sway and dance as the Lily slept snugly on his chest bathed in the morning sun.

Daphne made sure to capture that moment.

"I want her to hear my heartbeat, just to make her know I'm here" Harry once told her as the two of them stayed there with Lily in Harry's arms. Daphne snuggled as she held Harry and Lily close. Two of the most important people to her who she almost lost. Harry placed a kiss on her head as Daphne wiped away her tears and place a kiss on their daughter's forehead.

Lily grew up well like their other kids which was a huge relief to both Harry and Daphne.

At this point sleeping on the floor in that spot was a tradition. Harry would lay a large blanket to fit them all. He would lay down and place, now 2 years old, Lily on his chest. Wait for her to fall asleep before he would sleep himself.

Teddy would walk in together with Jay and Izzie. This was going to be Teddy's last time for a while considering he would be starting Hogwarts this September. Jay would occupy the left arm while Izzie the right. Teddy went on to sleep beside Izzie, curled up as he slept. Cy would come barreling in as he lay down in between Jay and Harry.

Daphne slowly walked inside carrying her trusted camera and capturing the moment as soon as everyone fell asleep bathed in warm sunlight. Satisfied that another photo would reside in her precious photo album. Daphne stifled a yawn as she walked over to them and sat down and moved Harry's head on top of her lap.

She sent a silent thanks to Alfred Potter for creating this spot as she transfigured her book into something she can lean on. As sleep slowly descended Daphne Potter, there was a smile on her face.

"This house is filled with cats"
