A parent should never lose a child before they die. I have lost two.
The first was my daughter. She was seven when her mother and I were taken as slaves. I escaped, but an injury I suffered caused me to forget everything, including her.
Today I lost a boy I considered as close as a son, and whom I knew thought of me like a father. I watched him die, that is, after he revealed his true alliance, turned into a monster and tried to kill me.
But a good thing did come of today.
I found my daughter.
