"Excuse me, Master Luke! I do believe the younglings have arrived!"

Luke Skywalker turned away from his mirror upon hearing C-3PO speak to him. He had swapped his brown hooded Jedi cloak for a bright red coat with a matching hat. Having a white beard certainly made him look the part he was trying to play.

"They're here already, 3PO?" he inquired.

"Most certainly, sir! I've never seen so many younglings in all my years of service!"

Luke crossed over to the window where 3PO was stood. He peered through it to gaze out into the dark outside world.

Sure enough, thousands of children were gathered outside the Jedi Temple. They had journeyed from several different parts of the galaxy to attend the special event which Luke was about to throw for Christmas.

With his young audience now present outside the temple, Luke took a deep breath, preparing to face them to carry out what he was planning that evening.

"Now do you know what you have to do, R2?"

R2-D2 bleeped positively one reply. The little blue astromech droid was stood in front of a socket on the wall. He was preparing to play his important role in the event that was about to unfold.

"Very well! Time for us to put smiles on all these kids' faces! May the Force be with us!"

Luke straightened up his Christmas hat, then left the two droids behind to head over to the Jedi Temple's front door. He stepped outside into the dark cold night air, where he was instantly spotted in his festive attire by the younglings.

A wave of excited cheering filled the air as the children went ecstatic upon seeing Luke. They cheered and cried happily, believing him to be Santa Claus.

"Good evening, younglings!" Luke called, trying his best to sound jolly. "A very Merry Christmas to you all!"

The younglings cheered louder.

"Are you ready for the festivities at the Jedi Temple to begin?!" Luke raised his hand. "On the young of three! One..."

"That's your cue, R2!" 3PO called. "Get yourself plugged in when Master Luke says three!"

"Two..."

R2 whistled cheerfully, ready to connect himself to the socket in front of him that very moment. The little droid was just as excited as the younglings outside the temple over what was about to happen.

"Three!"

Hearing his master give him his cue, R2 stuck out one of his electronic arms, sending the tip of it into the socket before him.

At once, the front of the Jedi Temple was lit up as thousands of Christmas lights which it had been covered in came on brightly.

The sound of the younglings' cheers was defeaning as all of them were taken by surprise over what they saw. They were amazed to see the Jedi temple illuminated beautifully in glowing colourful lights. None of them had ever seen anything like it in their young lives. It was truly a magical sight.

As he stood in front of the lit up building, Luke gazed around at the children's happy faces. He was delighted to see how thrilled they were by the event he had arranged. He was glad he had taken the time to pull it off - with the help of his ever-faithful droids.

"Merry Christmas, younglings!" he called out, waving his arms. "Merry Christmas to you all! Merry Chr-"

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Luke's festive greetings were interrupted by a sudden serious of explosions. He jumped with fright as the the younglings began to scream.

One by one, the Christmas lights on the Jedi Temple were blowing up. Each one of them burst into into pieces, shattered glass flying everywhere as their illuminations went out.

"NOOOOOO!" Luke screamed, sounding more over-the-top than he did upon learning that Darth Vader was his father.

As each Christmas light exploded, Luke's amazing display went darker and darker. There was nothing he could do to save it. He could only watch with disappointment as the last light blew up, leaving the Jedi Temple in pitch darkness.

The younglings began to yell and whine. None of them were happy anymore. They had all become very sulky.

"This sucks! We came all the way out here for this?!"

"That chump dressed as Santa Claus ruined Christmas!"

"This never would have happened if this display had been organized by Han Solo!"

As the younglings complained bitterly over what they'd just witnessed, Luke gazed sadly at the dark Jedi Temple - which was no covered in broken Christmas lights, not a single one of them lit up.

"I don't understand..." he said sadly to himself. "How could this have happened?"

"What do you mean you overpowered the lights?!"

Inside the Jedi Temple, R2 was whistling defensively, irritated over snappy 3PO was being towards him after he had accidentally blown up all the Christmas lights.

"Master Luke's beautiful Christmas display is ruined!" 3PO hissed. "This is all your fault!"

R2 bleeped a vulgar reply.

"How dare you call me that?!" With his golden-plated hand, C-3PO smacked his counterpart around his dome-shaped head. "You'll get no Christmas present from me this year, R2-D2!"

The end.
