Chapter 2: Taking a Stand.
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.
After getting his frustrations out on the doctor-who promptly saw to Kagome's immediate care-Mr. Higurashi left the hospital to give the Great Elder a piece his mind, consequences be damned.
Storming through the Great Elders door, not caring enough to knock. "Naraku!" Mr. Higurashi stomped his way to stand before him, ignoring the other people in the room.
"I'm in the middle of a meeting, Mr. Higurashi, and it's Great Elder to you. Now, you may make an appointment with my secretary, Kagura, and we will talk about whatever it is that seems so important to you that you forget to show your respect." Naraku said in a sickening sweet voice, but the warning rang clear.
"Like I give a shit about any of that, Naraku!" Mr. Higurashi growled, ignoring the warning in Naraku's voice. "You said that as long as Kagome wore that fucking bracelet she would be accepted! You also said that you would keep the secret of her being half human, half vampire a fucking secret between us!"
Naraku's face twisted from calm to murderous in a blink of an eye. "Mr. Higurashi, I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about. Now, as I have said before, I am in the middle of a very important meeting. Leave and make an appointment with Kagura and we'll further discuss this matter." Naraku said through clenched teeth.
Mr. Higurashi rolled his eyes. "Cut the bullshit, Naraku! You and I both know that you've told everyone about Kagome! She's been ridiculed ever since you let her into public school and now she's lying in a fucking hospital bed! What do you say about that!?"
"You had to have known what would happen, she's an abomination! Now, hold your tongue and leave before I have no other choice, but to banish you and your family!" Naraku threatened, deeming the conversation was over-Naraku turned his attention back to the others and gave his sincere apology.
Mr. Higurashi stomped closer to Naraku and pointed a finger in his face. "We're not finished here!"
Naraku slapped Mr. Higurashi's hand out of his face and stood up. "Oh, but I believe we are. Mr. Higurashi, you leave me no choice. I gave you warning after warning and you ignored every one! So, now I cast judgement that you and your family and hereby banished from this and every other coven starting immediately!"
"Good! I don't want to spend another minute under your control anymore!" Mr. Higurashi spat and turned on his heel slamming the door behind him.
Arriving back at the hospital Mr. Higurashi informed his wife what was going on and took his daughters bracelet off flipping the switch on it from full vampire to full human disguise. He then ordered the hospital give her transportation to a different hospital-a human one. He then turned back to his wife, explaining that he had a feeling something like this would happen and had bracelets made for them as well. He slipped hers and son's on and then jerked his on his own wrist, though they still had their vampire blood running through their veins they still felt off-like an invisible sheet was thrown over them.
"Is Kagome going to be okay?" Their son, Sota, asked.
"Yes, honey, she's going to be just fine." His mom reassured him and he nodded but looked at his sister with worry still clear on his face.
When Kagome woke up she realized that she was in the hospital, she looked to the right and saw her parents-or what looked like her parents, but in human form-talking with who she guessed was a doctor.
"Mom? Dad? What happened? What do you, dad and Sota look like humans?" Kagome asked weekly.
Rushing to their daughters side. "Oh, Kagome! We were so worried about you!" Kaori cried out as she smoothed her daughters hair back.
Mr. Higurashi sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "It was those damn vampires." He whispered making sure no one heard him, he didn't want to take any chances of the humans finding out who they were-even if the allowed demons in their territory he didn't know how they would react to them being vampires. "They jumped you and left you for dead. I confronted the Great Elder and he banished us because I wouldn't let him dismiss this matter. So, now we are in human territory and must learn to adapt to they ways of humans. You can eat their food and survive, but your mother, Sota and I must learn to give human blood up and learn to live off of wild animal, but we can and will do it. We don't have a choice."
Kagome nodded her understanding as the doctor came to take her vitals. This was going to be hard for them to adapt to this life style, but they no longer had a choice in the matter they must learn to survive, and they would-they were strong like that so Kagome knew they would be okay.
"So, do I look like a human as well? Can I see?" Kagome asked.
Kagome's mother nodded and held a mirror up so her daughter could look at herself. Kagome gasped as big blue eyes stared back at her, her hair still looked shiny and healthy, but not as shiny and healthy as when she was a vampire. Her skin was still clear and smooth and her teeth looked like dull human teeth, but everything else about her appearance was still the same. I was going to take a long time for them to get used to looking like this, but they will be okay. She knew they would survive through all this-they had too.
Please review. Until next time, bye!
