Chapter 4: Friends?
Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha.
A/N: I went back and reread chapters 1-3 and I'm so sorry for all of the mistakes that are in those chapters (especially chapter two-holy crap there was a lot.) I'll make sure to pay more attention and reread the chapter before posting in the future!
Sango and Kagome walked through the door of the class room and Kagome took off her sunglasses as Sango grabbed Kagome's hand saying there was a free seat next to her she could sit in. While she was being dragged, Kagome looked around the room and instantly made eye contact with bright golden eyes that had her breath catching in her throat. The boy had long silver hair that he wore in a low ponytail and two dog ears on top of his head, he wore a tight fitting red v-neck short sleeve shirt and blue jeans with white sneakers. All in all, he was very attractive Kagome surmised.
"Here, you can sit here. Rin, Miroku, Inuyasha-come here I want you to meet someone." Sango hollered and Kagome watched as three people came walking over to where they were. "Kagome-this is Rin, Miroku and Inuyasha." She said as she pointed at each person as she said their names. "And this is Kagome."
Kagome took in Miroku first-he was tall and had short black hair that he tied together at the nape of his neck and violet eyes that seemed to sparkle with permanent enthusiasm. He was wore a purple t-shirt with a pocket on his left pec, he work dark blue jeans with blue sneakers. She thought he was cute, but not as cute as Inuyasha. She then turned her attention towards Rin. She was short-maybe an inch or two shorter than herself-she had short brown hair the she wore half of it in a side ponytail, she had kind expressive bright brown eyes that seemed to shine with child like happiness. Kagome immediately felt very protective of the girl, wanting to protect that happiness that she so desperately wished she could have, but knowing she would never get her kind of happy. She wore an orange dress that hugged her figure well and stopped just above her knees, she wore white sandals and looked very nice.
Rin giggled and skip to stand right in front of Kagome, pulling her into a hug before Kagome could protest. "It's super nice to meet you-oh! You're so cold! Are you okay!?"
"Um, Oh! I'm s-sorry, I-I'm always cold. I-it's a condition that I have." Kagome stammered, quickly making up that lame excuse. She saw Inuyasha's nose twitch and his face scrunch up in a grimace. She looked up and saw his ears and her eyes widened, she knew enough about demons to know what kind of demon they were. 'Crap! I forgot he's an inu-hanyo! Inu demons can smell lies! I hope he doesn't call me on my bluff!'
Kagome breathed a sigh of relief as everyone nodded their acceptance to her answer and Inuyasha kept his mouth shut and didn't expose her as a liar. She ran her hand through her hair, making her sleeve of her jacket ride up a little exposing her bracelet. She noticed Inuyasha's eyes widen a little, but as quickly as they widened he quickly schooled his expressions again. She then saw his nose twitch and a look of complete confusion that was again schooled very quickly.
Before anything else could be said the teacher walked in, bringing the conversation to the end as the teacher told everyone to take their seats. "We have a new student, please stand up and introduce yourself and say something about yourself."
Kagome sighed as she stood up. "Hi, I'm Kagome and something about me; I'm allergic to the sun-that's why I have to dress like this to keep as much of the sun off of me as possible." She quickly sat down.
"Oh, how interesting!" The teacher exclaimed. "One of my cousins has that condition. Well, my name is Miss. Hishima-it's very nice to meet you. Here's your book." She said as she walked to Kagome's desk and set the thick book in front of her. "Okay, class, I want you to read chapter eighteen and answer the questions at the end of the chapter."
Inuyasha tried to focus on reading, but was having a very hard time in doing that as his mind was bombarded with questions about the new girl. 'Why the hell would she lie about being cold? Why did she lie about being allergic to the sun? Why does she have an identity hiding bracelet? Why can't I get her out of my mind? It feels like I'm the one who's suppose to get her to come out of hiding? But, when I smell her-she smells like something I've never smelled before. She has human blood running through her-that's for sure, but what was the other part of her blood that he smelled? What is she? How the hell am I suppose to get her out of hidding?' Before Inuyasha could answer any questions, both in his mind and on his paper, the bell had rung dismissing the class.
"Please turn in your work before you leave." Miss. Hishima called out.
'Shit!' Inuyasha thought as he gather his things and shove them in his bag before standing up and trudging to the front of the classroom where Miss. Hishima's desk was located. "I'm sorry, Miss. Hishima, I couldn't concentrate on my work today and didn't get it done."
Miss. Hishima looked up at Inuyasha and sighed. "Do it tonight, Mr. Takahashi, and turn it in tomorrow. You'll get thirty percent docked off for it being late."
Inuyasha nodded and left the room. He didn't know what it was about this girl, but he felt drawn to her-like she was someone that he didn't know that he needed and that scared the crap out of him and had him building bigger walls around his heart. He couldn't let him get hurt again-he wouldn't allow it so the only thing he could do was be his normal jerk self, but perhaps kick it up a notch just to make sure she stays away from him. He so didn't need this distraction.
Please review. Until next time, bye.
