Chapter 5:

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha

Walking down the hall, Kaogme and the others all found out they had first, second, lunch and sixth periods together. While walking through the door for their second period-which was science-Kagome saw a boy with long black hair and bright blue eyes. He turned his head as they all walked through the door and his jaw went slack-he quickly stood up and briskly walk in their direction.

Kagome unconsciously took a step back when the boy stopped just a hair too close in front of her. With a cautious look on her face she took the rest of him in-he had pointy ears, fangs, claws and a brown tail. 'A wolf demon. What does he want with me, and why is he looking at me like I'm the last piece of cake?'

"What do you want, wolf-shit?" Inuyasha growled.

"Hi, I'm Koga." Koga said totally ignoring Inuyasha, which just made him growl louder. Koga, still thoroughly ignoring Inuyasha, took Kagome's hand into both of his making her gasp in surprise. "Oh wow, babe, your hands are cold let me warm them up for you." He said as he took her other hand and started to rub them between his.

Kagome released a nervous chuckle. "Uh, babe?"

"That's right, you're my woman now! What's your name?" Koga asked.

"Wait a minute! You can't just go around claiming just anyone-especially someone you don't even know-to be your woman!" Kagome yelled jerking her hands free of Koga's much larger ones.

Koga didn't look offended he merely smiled and moved to stand beside her throwing an arm over her shoulders forcing her to walk with him. "There's an empty seat right in front of me that you can have and I still haven't gotten your name yet, doll face."

Before they made it to where Koga sat, Kagome felt another large hand encircle her wrist and jerk her out of Koga's arm. "Keep your hand off of her, scrawny-wolf-boy! She's sitting beside Sango-she has a free desk right beside her." Inuyasha turned dragging Kagome with him as he stomped over to where said free seat was the literally pushed her down in it.

"Ow! Inuyasha! That hurt!" Kagome yelled at Inuyasha, she only got a 'Keh' and a quick 'stay away from him' before he made his way to his desk. Luckily the teacher came in and began class right at that time. Thankfully this teacher didn't make her stand up and introduce herself and Kagome breathed a sigh of relief-she hated drawing attention to herself.

All throughout class she felt a pair of eyes on her, which she tried her hardest to ignore, when she finally had enough she looked up and saw blue eyes staring back at her. She sighed at the wink he sent her and turned back to her work, fully intending to ignore him-that is until a folded piece a paper landed on her desk. Sighing again she snatched it off her desk a made quick work of unfolding it and reading what the note said.

'You still haven't told me your name yet, sweet cheeks.' Rolling her eyes and mentally groaning, Kagome jotted down her name and tossed the paper back hoping he would leave her alone now.

Kagome never could get so lucky, though, as the paper landed on her desk once more. 'You're my woman now, Kagome.'

Scowling at the paper and with a flick of her wrist she tore the paper in half and kept doing it until the page was no more than shreds. She got up from her chair and dumped the shreds into the trash bin kept by the door, she brushed her hands against one another and hoped that Koga understood her silent rejection to being his woman.

This whole thing was new to her. She never had any friends so she was surprised that Sango and the others seem to want to be her friends. She certainly has had no one walk up to her and declare that they wanted to be with her and she didn't understand any of that. Sadness crept into her heart at the though that if they all knew who she really was they would want absolutely nothing to do with her and that kind of hurt just a little. All she ever wanted was to be accepted for who she really was and not who she pretended to be. However, she also understood that, that could never happen-it would be too dangerous. Kagome sighed sadly and continued on with her work with no more distractions.

The next few hours flew by without anything happening and now Kagome was walking her way to the cafeteria. As she neared the line she saw Sango waving her hand above her head motioning for her to come stand in front of her. After grabbing their trays of food Sango led Kagome to the table that they sat at-the guys were already there eating.

"So, what did you and scrawny-wolf-boy talk about during second period? I saw you guys passing notes back and forth." Inuyasha asked, trying to not make it sound that he actually cared, but failing miserably.

"Did you see the part where I ripped it up and threw it away?" Kagome asked not liking what he was insinuating. "Besides, he just asked me for my name and when I gave it to him he told me I was his woman now."

Inuyasha scoffed and stuck his nose in the air. "It's not like I care! Go out with him for all I give a fuck."

'Yeah right? Way to be not obvious, Inuyasha.' Kagome thought with a sigh. "I don't want to go out with him! I just started here` for goodness sake!"

"Keh." Was all the answer Kagome got as Inuyasha went back to eating, dropping the conversation for now.

Kagome sighed and went back to eating her own food.

"So," Miroku started, breaking the uncomfortable silence. "Kagome, we are going night surfing tonight-wanna come?"

"WHAT?" Inuyasha shouted, making most of the people in the cafeteria turn to look at him. "Why are you inviting her for?"

"Don't listen to him. So, what do you say? Are you in?" Sango asked with hope writ plain on her face.

"Yeah it'll be more fun with you there!" Rin joined in with the same hope sketched on her face.

Kagome tried to think if she had heard of surfing before, but nothing came up. "I-I don't know how to surf."

"That's okay!" Rin exclaimed.

"Yeah we'll teach you! Do you have a bathing suit?" Sango asked.

'Bathing suit? What is that. Geez, my parents sure made sure no one found out about me, but they also kept me sheltered and now I know Jack shit!' Kagome mentally muttered. "Um, no. I-I don't have one."

"That's okay you can use one of mine. Please come Kagome!" Sango pleaded.

Kagome smiled at her friend and nodded. "Yeah, okay, I'll come."

"Yay!" Both Rin and Sango cheered.

Inuyasha cleared his throat bringing the girls attention to him. "So, what's up with your bracelet?"

Kagome's eyes widened as her hand came up to cover the bracelet, trying to come up with an excuse for it. "Um, it was my grandma's?" She cursed mentally kicking her self by making it sound like a question instead of a statement of where the bracelet came from.

Inuyasha's nose twitched then his face scrunched up in disgust. "Lie to me some more, wench."

Kagome huffed and crossed her arms. "I am not lying!"

Inuyasha got a smug look on his face. "Lie."

"I am not!"

"Liar."

"You know what?" Kagome slammed her hands down on the table as she stood up. "I'm done eating! See you all in sixth period!" And with that she stomped away.

The rest of the day passed by fast and before Kagome knew it, she was entering her door of her house. Seeing her mom in the Kitchen she made her way to stand beside her.

"Mom, I have a question..."
