14. Horror
Conan wasn't your average kid, that's for sure. He wasn't even a kid! And so unlike most kids his supposed age, he wasn't afraid of horror movies or haunted houses.
"Conan-kun! Let's go see the haunted house!" Ayumi and Genta yelled while dragging his arm. Haibara walked calmly beside them while Mitsuhiko trailed slowly.
Mitsuhiko was not one for scary movies and halloween thrills, but if he could impress his little crush, then he was willing to do so. Haibara, she liked haunted houses, they didn't scare her, she just liked to see people screaming at the very unrealistic decorations and laugh at how just by being next to Kudo, you can already experience these thrills. He was a walking corpse magnet afterall, why look at cute attempts of recreating dead bodies when you can have one drop down right in front of you. Haibara liked haunted house because at least the corpses aren't real. For now, the five members of the shounen tantei-dan stood in front of the entrance, ready to brace whatever the hosts of the haunted house came throwing at them.
The first section of the haunted house was called "The awakening" with zombie prop arms coming out of the floor boards and walls. Some would occasionally reach out to grab peoples' ankles and shoulders, drawing out surprised yelps of their victims. Mitsuhiko was, unfortunately, one of their victims.
The next section was titled, "the chase". Long winding hallways where participants get chased by the staff in costumes will have to run for their lives in order to not get eaten. Genta had grabbed Ayumi and picked her up and dashed through the maze. Mitsuhiko held Haibara's hand and followed Genta's example, booking it out of there. Conan, well he decided to stroll through the hallways and enjoy the chaos. The staff members gave up trying to scare him into running.
The final section was dubbed, "escape", where you are locked into the room where the maze leads you to. The five of them looked around trying to solve the puzzles, they only had 10 minutes to escape the locked room.
Finally, after seven minutes, they were able to escape, almost breaking the record of the most quickest escape. All and all, they had a lot of fun.
"Thank you for letting us participate! The dead body hanging from the ceiling in the escape room was really realistic!" Ayumi exclaimed to the staff standing by the exit. Their face contorted into one of confusion.
"...There isn't supposed to be a hanging corpse decoration in there..." a look of horror appeared on everyone, except Conan and Haibara, faces.
"call the cops." Haibara sighed.
Needless to say she no longer liked haunted house, the corpses will find them either way.
