Chapter Nine: All in Good Time.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha

Saturday morning Inuyasha had called Miroku and Sango to come to his house to discuss something important.

About an hour later found Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango sitting around the table in Inuyasha's kitchen drinking a cup of hot tea.

"What's so important, Inuyasha, that you got me up out of bed early on a Saturday?" Sango asked bitterly taking a sip of her tea.

"It's that fucking bracelet on Kagome's wrist! What's she hiding and why would telling us her secret risk hers and her families lives?" Inuyasha went off thrusting a hand through his hair.

"Why do you need to know so badly, Inuyasha?" Sango asked.

"Yeah, she obviously worried about her safety if her secret gets out. So, why are you trying to force it out of her?" Miroku added.

"Oh, come on! You guys got on to me about hiding my true identity! You can't tell me that you're not even the slightest bit curious about who and what she really is!" Inuyasha yelled at his friends.

Miroku sighed. "Yes, we are curious about the bracelet as well and we did get you to show us who you really were, but we got you to see that you could trust us first. We didn't hound you about it, we knew that once you were ready you would open up to us about everything."

"Exactly!" Sango interjected. "We didn't force you to take your necklace off. Kagome has obviously been through something that has her scared to show us who she really is. Why do you keep trying to force her to take her bracelet off?"

"I ain't forcing her to do anything! I just wanted her to know that she doesn't have to hide here." Inuyasha said.

"We don't have her complete trust yet, but do you really blame her for not trusting us? We've only just met her yesterday." Miroku asked.

"No, I don't blame her and I know how it feels to be scared to reveal what you really are. But, I also know how good it felt when I finally didn't have to hide anymore." Inuyasha said.

"We'll get Kagome there, too. We just have to be patient like we were with you, Inuyasha. It took us a long time to get you to reveal who you really were. I remember when you first started her four years ago, you were so shy and jumpy. But, with a some time and effort you finally trusted us enough to show us and at the begging of last year you showed the whole school and just about everyone accepted you for who you really were. It took you two whole years for you to feel comfortable with us, just be patient with her Inuyasha." Sango tried to reassure Inuyasha.

"She'll come to us when she's ready. We just have to be there for her and be her friends everything will come to light all in good time my friend." Miroku added.

Inuyasha sighed and ran a hand down his face. "I've never been one with patience-you know that-but I'll try."

"That's all we ask for." Miroku said clapping a hand against Inuyasha's shoulder.

"Great Elder!" A man ran into the room where Naraku was sitting behind his desk. "Everything has gone to shit since Mr. Higurashi left! No one can do what he could! We need him to come back! We need his expertise, without him our coven will wither and crumble! He's the only one that was able to successfully lure the humans here without anyone finding out. You know as well as I do no one else, in this coven and others, has the finesse that he does! You have to let him come back!"

Naraku narrowed his eyes on the man. "Hakudoshi, you're telling me not one of our vary qualified vampire personnel is able to lure anyone here? Are they really that pathetic that I'm force to grovel at someone's feet?"

"Sir, if Mr. Higurashi doesn't come back this coven will die off." Hakudoshi informed.

"Leave." Was the only response that Hakudoshi received.

Naraku watched as Hakudoshi left with a scowl etched on his features. He hated that he had to call Mr. Higurashi and beg him to come back. He hated even more that he would have to allow that half blood to return here. "Damn it." He growled. "Kagura!"

Seconds later the door swung open revealing Kagura bowing on the floor. "Yes, Great Elder, you called me?"

"Get off the floor and listen very carefully to what I have to say." Naraku sneered and watched as Kagura stood up. "We seem to have found ourselves in quite a predicament and I need you to call up Mr. Higurashi and ask that he and his family return to the coven at once!"

Kagura looked surprised, she never thought that he would ever allow and half blood to ever return. "And if he refuses?"

Naraku got a twisted smile on his face. "Tell him that if he refuses then him and his family will be hunted down and killed."

Kagura nodded, turned and left to do what the Great Elder bide her to do.

Naraku rose out of his chair to lazily walk around his office. "All in good time, Mr. Higurashi. One way or the other we will be seeing each other again very soon." He walked over to his wine cabinet and jerked the doors open-it was only ten A.M. but, damn it, he needed a drink. He took a sip of the wine, growled and threw the wine glass to the wall-the wine bottle shortly followed the glass to it's demise.
